I went to this florist Friday Sept 14th at approximately 11:15 a.m. . I was greeted by a very sweet and friendly blonde gal who was happy to help me select a small arrangement appropriate for my needs. I explained to her I was purchasing this for a co worker who's mom was recently moved to hospice care and how sad she was to have to leave Arizona after spending 8 days with her. I didn't want anything too elaborate but something to cheer her up. I saw a very cute, round, yellow vase with a smiley face on it and thought size wise that was perfect. The clerk then showed me a picture of a yellow and white arrangement in their catalog for $42.65 that contained roses, lilies, and white carnations, and I agreed I thought that was appropriate, but asked if they could throw in a splash of color. They said it would take 20 minutes and with that I paid for my order, and went next door to the nail salon for a polish change.
After getting my nails done, I went back and walked to where they were still working on the arrangement. Instead of what was pictured in the catalog with a "splash of color" , they had an arrangement that included every spectrum of the rainbow, much more of a fiesta , party arrangement. I told the gentleman in the back that they went from one extreme to the other.
All of the white had been eliminated. It would have been great for a birthday or a party situation but this wasn't the message I was trying to convey. I explained that isn't what I ordered and asked if they could remove some of the color and add white back in. The gentleman in the back seemed more than happy to try and accommodate my request, but a gal in the back I can only assume was a manager, seemed irritated at my request and said they would have to start from scratch and I told them I had already been waiting 25 minutes and had to be at work at 12 p.m. The white flowers they tried to add sadly were filler flowers, and I asked can you use daisies or roses or a lily? The manager ( Susan Luca) then said, " She is not going to be happy with anything we do, we'll give you your money back, and you can go to King Soopers."
WOW....... Are you kidding me??
I told her I didn't go there because I wanted a personal arrangement, but if that is going to be your attitude, by all means, you can refund my purchase. WOW again. And this from their manager? How not to lead by example for her employees?
I didn't have time that day to get flowers, but this morning, I did go to King Soopers. I purchased an arrangement that contained white roses, yellow roses, a splash of purple violets, all fresh, custom made for half the price. Needless to say, if they are going to disregard someone's good intentions and have a " take it or leave it attitude" , I will make sure my 20 year clientele at the salon I work at and all my co workers will know where NOT to go for their flowers. So much for trying to support your local business.
Ps.. I felt sorry for the sweet young clerk who greeted me. Her face said " I am so sorry to me" as she made eye contact before I left. The gentleman in the back was at least willing to try to accommodate me until that gal opened her mouth and said what she did. At least they didn't let someone who had no compassion or professional standards lower theirs.
Update: Since I posted this, I have shared my story with friends and have been made aware of 2 other people who either were either dissatisfied with their order , and one who had to demand a full refund for service from this florist not producing what was ordered in person 2 weeks before prom ( corsages and boutonnieres ordered for prom king and date last year for $128?!!) or just giving shoddy customer service. I wish I would have known before not to waste my time here. Save yourself and your money! read more
