Upon speaking directly with the employee on duty behind the counter, they admitted on camera that they had been misplacing mail across multiple PO Boxes during that shift. They explicitly confirmed that mail intended for other customers had been swapped into wrong boxes throughout the morning. Despite this immediate admission of sorting errors, no immediate fix was available. A physical check of neighboring boxes and casing units by management yielded nothing, meaning $1,000 intended for critical living expenses was either misdelivered to another customer who walked off with it, lost in the facility, or stolen. To make matters worse, this facility does not have security cameras installed in the PO Box lobby area, leaving zero video trail or accountability when misdelivery or theft occurs inside what is supposed to be a secure federal building. This loss of $1,000 could not have come at a worse time. I am currently pregnant, navigating a career transition before starting a new job, and relying on those funds to cover basic necessities like my car payment and groceries. Having $1,000 vanish from a locked PO Box--combined with staff actively confirming that mail was being placed in wrong boxes that exact morning--is entirely unacceptable for a federal service. I have formally escalated this issue by filing claims with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) and contacting federal representatives for a formal inquiry. Whoever is the driver will not deliver anything that is remotely off of any main road. It is ridiculous that my drivers can deliver 30k lbs pieces of construction equipment to North San Juan and my 5lbs piece of mail can't be delivered, ever, to my door. Oh and I went in to pick up my mail and heard the driver talking about how he was too busy to deliver anything off the main drag. It's your job and my taxes pay you to do it. Do your job. If the driver is there every time I come in to pick my package up, talking shop, then why would I be excited about my taxes paying him to talk shop while I pick my package up? It's become a joke at this point
