How unfortunate and disgusting she is assigned to handle applications for younger victims. Fast forward 3 months and no answer. Have left her several messages and all of them were unanswered. I finally got her on the phone to which she replied " I didn't want to call you until I had an answer". Lame cop out. She didn't bother to call and acknowledge and provide and update. Then she told us it was being held/ on pause because no charges were being made! Hmmm I don't know that I believe that. I called back a week later (today) and the claims department placed me on hold 19 minutes. I called back and they "lost my call" even tho I was sitting and listening to hold music. I told her it was obvious she forgot. She told me patty never turned in my application. Just horrendous overall. This county is so backwards and it's really sad. Well initially we were both pretty nervous, having previously dealt with the getting records copied and licenses issued through our home County of Sacramento. It was a challenging experience in Sac County at times, however that is not the case here at all! The moment we walked in we were greeted with a happy smiles from a couple of different people who were working the public counter. We had our forms filled out that we had printed offline and, and just had to do a couple of other things. The ladies reviewed our paperwork, we swore a quick oath and we were on our way with our license! It was that easy! When we returned yesterday to pick up our certificate, it was equally as easy, and we were in and out in about 10 minutes including parking. I cannot say enough good things about the fine people here. Thank you for making our special day a little less stressful.

Instead of showing appreciation they acted like I was causing them more work. The permit department is another bad story. In my experience with them, the employee I dealt with whined and complained about the work I was causing her. When I went to the building department with completed paperwork in hand to pay my fees on a very simple installation, I was told that they don't take walk-ins after 1230 pm. Yet, the lobby was empty and 2 receptionist were sitting on their tails doing nothing. Based on my experiences with the county offices, I conclude that the hiring and department managers have low standards and expectations. Somebody needs to train these people in customer service. IMO, the Board of Supervisors needs to fire all of them and start over.

In December of 2021 I caught an error on my property tax statement. I paid on-line and noticed the…read moremailing address wasn't mine! I didn't notice it before because my mortgage Co. would handle the payments. I found out my information along with the reassessment of my home was never updated because of a glitch that occurred in 2018 when The Assessor's Office updated their system. One week later I received three property tax bills totaling almost $10,000 due by May 30, 2022! I'd like to inform anyone who purchased a home in 2018 to make sure your information has been properly updated with the County Assessors Office and the Tax Collector. If you are a victim of the glitch, and God forbid you're unable to pay all the back taxes, your house will go into foreclosure and sold at auction! It doesn't matter if you were a victim of this glitch, there is no leniency. I was never informed by the Assessor's Office. It was gross negligence on their part. This could've easily destroyed me! I'm only glad I caught it then and not now because the only way I could come up with that kind of money, I would have to refinance my home. And with the way the interest rates are right now, I wouldn't be able to keep my home! Please pass this on.
