Frustrating and Dishonest Sales Experience I recently tried to work with Forest River of Dayton / Camping World of Piqua regarding a 2024 Jayco unit, and the experience was extremely disappointing. From the beginning, I was told pricing for the "Used RV Fest" would be released that weekend and that the sale price would be lower than what was online. I followed up multiple times--each time being told to "check tomorrow," then later that pricing wouldn't be available until Thursday, contradicting everything they had previously stated. Instead of providing a simple, straightforward price as promised, I was passed between messages, told a manager would call (which I never requested), and still received no clear answer. Every response felt like a deflection or stall tactic. I even referenced their own messages where they said the event pricing would be out that weekend--no accountability, just excuses. After several polite attempts to clarify, I finally had to ask to be removed from their marketing list. Only after I said I'd leave a review did someone suddenly offer "$1,000 off." By that point, the trust was gone. This kind of bait-and-delay approach gives the entire dealership a bad name. I've worked in sales and management for years--honesty and follow-through matter. If you value your time and integrity, I suggest you look elsewhere for your RV purchase. read more

Learn to pronounce the name of the city you are new to. The commercial for new Piqua location has completely mispronounced the cities name. Be open on Sunday when people are off work. RV's are bought by people that work M-F and go "camping" on the weekends. That's also when they buy them read more

Forest River RV | Camping World - Keystone Springdale 260 - RV Dealers Near Me - Piqua, Ohio

We bought our new Cougar 260MLE from Piqua Camping world. Sarah Wilson was our salesperson and did an awesome job. We had been checking out this model on line and were happy to find one to tour not to far away. We live in Xenia about an hour away. Front desk staff greeted us and Sarah took over with the tour. She answered our questions and if she did not have an answer for us, she quickly used her resources to find the answer. We loved the camper and CW gave us a very fair price for our trade-in and the purchase price for the new one was agreeable. Our tow vehicle truck was in the repair shop for longer than we anticipated and Sarah arranged for someone to go to Xenia and pick up our trade in trailer for us so we could finalize our purchase. All the form signing and payment work was handled by Savanna (?) and went smoothly. The final walk through went well and any issues we had were addressed. Service department answered questions as needed. Of course we have not used service dept for any repairs so I cannot comment on work flow or wait times. To top off our experience with CW and Sarah our new 5th wheel was delivered to our home as promised at the time and day promised! That's service!! read more

I was under the gun to get a camper before deploying for work. I refused to live out of a hotel, so a camper was the logical solution. The sales manager and Doug stayed late helping me get the right camper at a great price. The next day the service department stayed late to train me on all of the things and away I went! Camping World is the worst dealership in the area. Stay away!!! Here is what happen to me. Camper 11/16/20 found a notice on the internet that my camper has a "No Operate" factory recall 11/27/20 called the dealer and asked if they had the parts for the recall and could I get an appointment? I was told I needed to wait until I received official notice about the recall. 12/16/20 received the notice in the mail for the recall and called dealer to set appointment. No answer. I sent an email. No response. 12/21/20 I drove to the dealership as they were not answering their phones to set an appointment and that is when I found out they had sold the business and are under new owners (Camping World). I was also told they would not be able to take any appointments for 2 more weeks. 1/21 I called to get an appointment to complete the recall and was told the dealer now cannot get me in until 3/16/21. I tried to get an earlier appointment as I had reached out to them last year to get an appointment and was put off twice. The new dealer (Camping World) told me they had a big re-opening and packed the service department with new units that were sold. 3/16/21 I called the dealer as the camper was there a week earlier but they didn't get it in. 3/17/21 spoke to dealer to see what they found and was told still had not got it in. 3/22/21 spoke to dealer again. I was told they did look at the camper and yes found the frame was buckled. The dealer told me they had contacted Keystone and was told to install the prevented kit that was used on campers that had not yet buckled. I asked how can you do this? They said that is what keystone told them to do and they would order the parts but had no idea when the parts would be in. 3/22/21 I called Keystone and asked why the dealer would say they were told to use the parts to fix my camper that were used on campers that were not buckled? Keystone said it is "Industry Standard" to do this. I said how can the dealer install parts that have pre-drilled holes and bolt direct to the holes on the camper now that it is buckled and the holes will not line-up? I was told if the dealer has any questions on how to install the kit, they will contact Keystone. I asked if the kits are available and how long till the dealer would receive them? Keystone said right away. 4/5/21 (2 weeks later after the dealer told me they had ordered the parts) I spoke with dealer and was told parts have not come in yet. 4/7/21 spoke to keystone to see why parts had not been shipped and they said the part were received at the dealer on 3/25 at 10a by someone named Ary. So WTH. (Why did the dealer lie to me?) 4/7/21 I called dealership and seems all the employees that are connected to the repair of my camper are off work. (in the middle of a work week) Salesman, service manager, service writer, and mechanic. I did speak to the other service writer and he told me yes, the part was received on 3/25 and a PO closed on 3/26. He did not know why my camper is not being worked on but he would leave Larry the other service writer a message. 4/8/21 received a call from dealer and was told now the recall will be done at 2p that day..(WOW I guess telling the dealer I spoke to Keystone and knew the parts were there and Keystone wanted me to report back to them when the recall was complete must of woke someone up). I asked how about the warrant work and he did not know. (I guess he just called me and did not have all the information in front of him before he called). I was told by the dealer I can pick my camper up Monday 4/12. (So, I am guessing that would be a NO on the warranty work they owed me from the previses owner last year.) 4/12/21 Picked up camper at dealer. Dealer did not have the invoice ready to give me a copy showing what work had been completed. I was told he would mail it to me. Camper was not in the pick-up area even though the dealer set the day to pick it up so, I had to wait until someone was free to bring it around. Camper was filthy from the mud holes in the back and covered with gravel dust. (It could have been sprayed off before I arrived). The battery was dead so I had to hook up power before I could begin the connection process. (Dealer should had checked and charged before I picked it up). I asked why the repairs that the previous owners of the dealership promised they would make right this year after I took it out of storage and I was told there were no records kept from the other dealer owners and I said isn't that convenient? And the service adviser just smiled. So, the repairs/damaged parts that had happen prior to me accepting the unit new would not be covered by the new owners. (I will never go to another Camping World again) and I only went to them because I was promised at my appointment, they would fix the other items they failed to fix last year when I brought it to the old owners. Once I got the camper home and opened it up the dealer had tracked mud throughout the camper and failed to clean. read more

I bought a 2021 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pack from Camping World in Greenwood, IN in November of 2020. They financed me to get me a "better deal" that was NOT better than my own financing. They called me a week later and said my financing fell through and I needed to get my own financing, so I did. Meanwhile this camper was overpriced because of all the fees they add on the purchase agreement that "you cannot decline" I also had A LOT of issues with this BRAND NEW camper.  I then used the camper throughout the entire season and had some warranty work done on it. Here is a list of all the warranty work that needed done on my BRAND NEW camper: wheels and hinges on the patio gate, front door grab handle, LED lights on the inside, the condensation from the refrigerator was not draining, and a gap in the door that went from the garage door to living area. I took my camper to Camping World in Piqua, OH on October 11, 2021 it is now almost the beginning of April and I still do not have my camper back. They said they have everything else fixed except still waiting on a refrigerator. They say they have been working on getting a new refrigerator for my camper since mid-January. I called towards the end of February and Tyler told me that if they did not have a refrigerator in by the middle of March to call and they would get it from a different supplier so I could have my camper by the first of April when I have a trip planned to camp. I called on March 11, 2022 Tyler told me I needed to call Forest River myself to see what is going on with the refrigerator. I called Forest River talked with Austin and he gave me the number for the vendor of the refrigerator. I then called them and talked with Carrie she had NO record of me needing a refrigerator that camping world would have had to send over information for. So they wanted me to have camping world call them to see what was going on. So I had personally called around to all these places and waste my entire lunch break on the phone. I called and got sent to Tyler's voicemail (pretty sure he sent me to voicemail) and left him a message on what they said and who to call. I then used a different number to call from right after I left a message and magically Tyler answered the phone this time. I talked to him that is when he informed me that they would have a refrigerator in two weekswhich would be March 25, 2022. I called today, March 24, 2022, for an update so I could schedule a pick up so I could have it packed and ready to go by my trip next weekend, and they still do not have any refrigerators and it will be another two to three weeks before they have them in. YOU CAN NOT TELL ME IN 2-3 MONTHS YOU HAVE GOTTEN NO REFRIGERATORS IN!! So now I have to cancel my trip for next weekend. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING OR GET IT SERVICED FROM CAMPING WORLD AGAIN! I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM CAMPING WORLD PERIOD! This has happened to my husband's grandpa and my parents. read more
