By default, I was with Forest for a long time.. I was on my parents' plan (back when they went by another name) and as an adult stayed with Forest. My parents left forest awhile ago. They were unsatisfied with how much they were paying and their rude agent. I had little, but generally very pleasant interactions with my agent until recently. When I needed to drop my ex and his car off of my plan, they would not help me. My ex would not sign the documents needed to get off of the plan and Forest said there was nothing they could do. Not their fault, I agree. But curious, I inquired with another company. According to my new agent (Country) there are ways around this situation but they were not willing to help me. I assume this is because I wasn't worth their time, with my small insurance plans. So I stopped paying for my car coverage and was dropped from the plan. Not an issue, we all move on, right? Wrong. After I canceled my Home insurance, and submitted my Quit Claim Deed to show that my ex no longer owned my home, Forest sent me my refund check with his name on it! I assume this was to intentionally cause me more headache, luckily, I was able to cash the check with ease and deposit it back into my escrow account. Truth be told, I have much more coverage needs coming soon and I am absolutely ecstatic that it won't be through Forest Agency. read more

I would give them a -5 star if I could. I called them and asked help in filling out a MetLife form (Since it is a MetLife agent) I was asked if I was one of their clients and I answered no. I was told quite bluntly they WOULD NOT assist me and told to call MetLife directly. This showed very poor customer relationship and had they assisted me I would have very happily changed my home & auto insurance to their agency. This was a very poor example of how to entice potential customers to do business with their agency. read more

There are a lot of insurance agency's to choose from and I highly recommend Forest Agency. They are an independent agency and can offer you the best policy for your needs and they have many choices to choose from where as you get very little and are limited with a State Farm or Allstate type. Go with Forest Agency because of that and their staff! Their staff is what makes the biggest difference- they are all so kind, welcoming, helpful, trustworthy, and friendly. I called Christine prior to Christmas to see if the rate for my mother's house could be eligible for any discounts. She said it would take a few days and she would get back to me on Wed. Dec 27. Dec 27 came and went. I called on Thursday and spoke with Christine. She was like 'oh well' .... her attitude was one of non concern. She then explained it was due to a computer issue. Miraculously, she was able to determine that there was no additional discount my mother was eligible for within a few minutes. So why is it that last week she needed a few days and yesterday she was able to make the determination within 5 minutes? Need to look for a new agent. read more

I am so unhappy with my recent experience at Forest Insurance. I was given a new agent who was taken aback when I complained about the large rate increase. He said I should get used to a 10% rate increase a year. He actually told me to go to another agency to get insurance instead of empathizing or trying to help me. I found the same coverage for my home and cars for almost $2000 less through another carrier and that insurance company automatically looked up my home on the Cook County website for an accurate (much lower) rate. read more
