I can't say much about United Auto Insurance other than I've been insured by them for five years…read moreand they provide me with the most affordable auto insurance. Fortunately, I have avoided any possible fender benders, head-on collisions, etc, that I could have possibly had the misfortune of experiencing in the past five years and am rewarded for being a safe driver with lower rates almost every six months. Yay for saving money! I have the option to pay for my insurance once every six months or make a down payment and pay once a month for six months. Usually, I take the former option. I have made most of my payments over the phone, though it is possible to process payment online or through snail mail. The only downer paying over the phone is the few dollars they tack on as a service fee; luckily, I am not too sensitive and have gotten over that fact by now. ;) If you're looking for low-cost auto insurance, give UAI a call. I'm sure you already have the number in your head; their jingle is catchy! ***"773-202-5000! We've got you covered, Chicagoooo!"***

I do not recommend. 1st issue- my relatives payment was applied to my policy causing my relatives policy to be cancelled. 2nd issue- my card on file was expired and I didn't know. I received a call stating my card was expired. No problem I give updated information. Some time later I get another call stating my payment is late bc my card is expired. I'm like I just updated my information and I'm told there is NO record of that conversation. Well that's reassuring (not). I then go ahead and update and I get a letter in the mail stating my policy is canceled.

Then my price went up almost 100 dollars without me being notified or being told anything. I called her and she said my email wasn't valid. Same email I've had for 15 years somehow wasn't valid. I called to put my autopay on hold while I looked for another insurance, she said it was on hold, turned out she never did it. I called her again and said I never told her. At that point I canceled with them. They told the same thing to my brother who was with them too. His email wasn't working. State Farm was good but go to a different office not this one

I called before my next payment to try to cancel my policy. I was told I had to come in person to fill out some paperwork. I explained that I have moved to Michigan which is a 6 hour drive and I no longer own the vehicle. The representative told me the only other option I had was to let the payment pass and after a month it will cancel on its own. To my surprise I was charged for the policy a few weeks afterwards. I called and explained my situation. They explained that if I could show proof that I sold my vehicle they could refund me the last payment. I didn't even have proof of payment as I sold it to a stranger as a 3rd party sell. It's not like I received a receipt of the sale. They said I could have send a letter explains I wanted to cancel my policy with my signature!!!!! How the fuck are they going to tell me that when they are emailing me the paper work for me to sign right now!!!!!.... Why the fuck didn't the last agent tell me he could have emailed me the paperwork!!!!! So now this company has taken a payment out of my account when I was told I wasn't in autopay and no refund is available. This whole business is a shit show and I would recommend everyone going to find another insurance company.

Despite us going back and asking about it, and calling and asking about it, somehow they ended up contacting this woman and telling her that they have it. The cards etc were all cancelled on that day. I have little hope for the cash... but who knows. This woman acted as if I owed her my soul (or worse... my business) because she called me. She said there were no identification cards in the wallet. What's in there? Her card? Proof of insurance? Maybe the first but not the second. So, the driver's license isn't identification. The business contacted me. They said that if I took my review down they might give me the money which they agree should be refunded. Not sure what to make of this... I was not contacted again.
