Love Forest Home so much. Our family has attended family camp for many years. We are always blessed by the worship and teaching from there. This year the food was an incredible step up from the past two years. Their staff truly loves and reflects Jesus. It is a majestical place to be at to grow in your faith! read more

These are comments from my kiddos after attending the summer camp... "The staff are great Food acceptable (descent food were for the staff) Better than prison food (from my 9 yr old) No cereal or yogurt for breakfast Alternative food was not served (minimal selection) My son was forced to eat meat even with a wristband stating vegetarian Lodging is cramp (9 people in one lodge) The beds were comfortable than prison beds The restrooms are a walking distance I wouldn't say I liked the Rave-like party at the end (no water or drinks/no snacks) for kids, and it was too loud. The spiritual concept is there but lacking true meaning of the gospel." They didn't want to go back (it was their first time doing a Christian Summer Camp) You cannot message the campers unless you pay certain amount for messages and access to photos on the app... read more

We just had our first time staying at Forest Homes and we really enjoyed it. They had guest speakers that spoke on marriage and children who were fantastic and I can say that it has blessed our marriage! Kids had fun in their groups and the CCA- child care assistant coming every day for our son was fantastic! He loved spending time with her too! The food was great! I gained more weight from all the yummy food than I would have liked! They pack your week with just enough things to keep you busy but you also have down time. We did the 3 person swing and next year we plan on the zip line! It was a wonderful experience and we plan on returning next year. read more

Forest home is a disaster. They were turning things around during winter but then it went back down hill during summer. Bed bug break outs every week. The food is all just frozen food cooked in a fryer. They have children working in the kitchen and dont keep up with kitchen standards. They have fired several employees who were gay or lesbian. The kitchens dish pit is constantly a disaster leaving dishes over night and not using the proper sanitizer. The manager Matt is very rude to his employees. Most cabins are run down and have rats. The kitchen at creek and lakeview has rats. read more

The greatest week of our summer! Our family loved all the activities. Definitely recommend!!

Forest Home is a special place for my family. It's a week we all look forward to. My husband and I are able to hear messages on marriage and parenting while our kids get to hear age appropriate Bible messages with a new adventure every day. Our two oldest children have made decisions to get baptized at the lake, and we have the most incredible memories being surround by friends. Another incredible offering at Forest Home is the CCA's (babysitters) which watch our kids each night so parents can spend time talking about the evening message and/or connecting with other couples, it's magical!! The speakers, worship leaders, and every Forest Home staff member make this week each summer so life giving. We are so thankful for Forest Home and look forward to seeing you all next summer. read more

Our family has been going to Forest Home family camp for a few years now and it has easily been the best week of the year for our family! Everyone that works at FH goes above and beyond to serve us and our kids. Every year we attend we draw closer to the Lord, feel refreshed and are so happy we can spend amazing quality time with as a family. I am giving my best recommendation to go to FH and I would not pass up any chance to attend! :) read more

This place is an incredible place! my family of 6 went for the first time this summer and were blown away by attention to detail that was given from food options with allergies, to speakers, to workshop pastors, children adventures, and crew. it was a highlight of not our summer but of our marriage with kids to be able to come here and spend a whole week together read more

This was our first summer at Forest Homes Family camp and we loved it! The staff are extremely caring and everyone in our family ages 5-53 years grew in their relationship with the Lord and with each other. This is something any Christian family should experience read more

There is no better place to get away, heal and grow as a family and couple. Everything is so well planned out, the speakers were wonderful and all the staff were so loving. read more

This was our first year attending Forest Home family camp and it absolutely exceeded expectations! We attended with our 7 year old and 2.5 year old and there is not a better vacation experience for the whole family. This truly blessed everyone in our family. The schedule, the food, the speakers, the accommodations... They have it ALL. I was surprised to see not just families with kids our kid's age, but grandparents and newlyweds too! They even just built an awesome Escape Room which was SO COOL. They really have thought through it all! The bible teaching was phenominal. From Deep bible teaching to the family and marriage bible based teaching... they really covered it all. My only "complaint" (if I were to call it that) would be I wish there was a deeper spiritual portion for the kids. I believe they did a very small devo in their time, but a hair more focus on that would be desirable. We will be back every year! read more

A fantastic family camp experience. Relevant activities for all ages. Childcare assistance in the evenings for families with kids 10 and younger. Very peaceful and restful setting. A true breath of fresh air. read more

We attend family camp every summer here, and it's wonderful! Forest Home chooses excellent speakers for the adult gatherings and enthusiastic teachers for the kids. The Child Care Assistant (CCA) program is unique to Forest Home and really helps adults to relax and focus on hearing God's word and spending time with each other, knowing that the kids will be taken care of (put to bed) by the CCAs. The food and lodging are all improving. Some cabins cost less and are more rustic, while the more expensive cabins are newer, very comfortable, and provide extra space. The great news is that Forest Home continues to invest in their lodging such that even the cheaper tier will only be getting better over time (it was always "good enough" for us anyways, but everyone has different needs). Recreation options are very good too - in the summer you can visit their lake with slides, kayaks, and "the blob". Year round they have crafts, a challenge course, giant swing (my favorite), and zipline. Two final recommendations, one spiritual and one not: 1. Be sure to visit the prayer chapel. It's quiet, out of the way, and has archives of 80+ years of people's written prayers, and you can add yours too. 2. Buy a chocolate chip shake (or any "chip" flavor) at the clubhouse - you won't be disappointed! read more

It is in a lovely forest. Food is ok. The staff is very nice. Heating doesn't work in some of the premium cabins. The rooms were 52 degrees when we arrived. It is 34 degrees outside. They have been trying to get the heat working with their basic staff. They need to hire an on -call or on-site maintenance professional like hotels have for Friday night at the very least to make sure everything is working. If There are 5 people in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath suit and the weekend costs over $300pp, they are charging $1500 for the suite, I think they can afford a professional. read more

Such a fun time bonding with our fam! This was our 2nd year of Family Camp. Forest Home is set in a beautiful location in the mountains & provides an incredible experience for families of all ages. We enjoyed family camp and the staff was so attentive & kind, activities were fun, lake day was awesome, the food had great variety, and the speakers were amazing! Our kids love it so much and didn't want to leave. read more

The worst retreat center I have ever been at. The staff were not helpful, kind or respectful at all. We slept without heaters the first night. The cabins are dirty, spiderwebs all over the walls, their bed sheets smell and their towels are not clear. Olivia our host said she was going to sleep at midnight and was not willing to help. She was accusing our leaders of things that were not true as well! At Idylwilld Pines Camp Center (highly recommend btw) there is someone on call throughout the night to help with any issues. Additionally, the food here was really not great. Many of us seriously skipped meals. There were also rats in the cabins and the main halls. Many windows are broken. I would never return! I recommend checking out another place.. read more

Had the best time of our lives at Forest Home! Highly recommend! It was a great time with the family!

I stayed there for three days in the beginning of November. The location is beautiful and the weather wasn't extremely cold. Definitely get sweaters and long sleeve shirts though for the chilly nights. However, The food provided was very very bad. The meat was rubbery and everything else was boiled and unseasoned. The rooms accommodated 6-8 people ( 4 bunk beds) but only one bathroom and two sinks, so that was a nightmare. read more

Our family LOVES Forest Home! The set up for Family Camp is ideal for families with younger kids and such a great time with older kids as well. We LOVE the CCA program that provides childcare in the evenings. Our teenagers really enjoyed the BaseCamp program. All of the staff from housecleaning to kitchen staff to all of the children's program leaders were wonderful! We can't wait until we can go back again. Definitely the highlight of the summer for our family! read more

went on a church retreat. I enjoyed every bit of the experience. I would totally go again. It was so relaxing and refreshing. We did not stay the nite, but will next time. I brought a change of clothes for the chilly nite and there was nowhere to change. I think they should have a place for the day people juz to change in case they needed too. The food was was the best. They only had water in the room you ate your meal. We did the swing was fun and went on the Pary walk. read more

This is a great camp for families to grow in their faith!! Family camp is great for all generations to be nurtured in Christ.

After going to this conference center year after year, I can confidently say that they have vastly improved their food service. All meals have recently improved to be head and shoulders above their previous quality and that of their competitors. read more

I went to forest home last summer and it was alright. I got a really nice cabin and there are fun activities(we couldn't do any activities due to the rain but that's not their fault). The reason why I gave a 2 star review was because of the food. The food was so disgusting that I was starving myself all weekend until I got so hungry that I ate a taco with their mystery meat. A few hours later I got food poisoning. read more

We've been attending this amazing place for 35 years. Love it! Can't say enough positive about it. Just the right amount of together time and time with the kids. Even a sitter is provided in the evening with fun activities for the young ones. We took our granddaughter this year and she's already talking about next summer! Food was great! Great retreat site with plenty of cabins with several layout options. Bedding is available for "rent" and the heating system was great that the cold was not a problem at all. There are great activities available, including mini golf, zip lining, fire pits, etc. The food was delicious for every meal. There were options for those with dietary restrictions. There are different meeting room sizes to fit any group's needs. read more

We've come here as a family for ~10 summer family camps in the past 12 years. Our kids have ranged from 2-18 years old, and there's no where more fun for the whole range of ages. Our daughters have also come up to work as CCAs for several weeks over the last 3 years. And... we went up over Thanksgiving weekend this past year for the most amazing Snowpocalpse! The snowball fights were amazing! But best of all - the entire camp is there to bring kids and families closer to God. Great things happen in people's lives at Forest Home. (And, the milkshakes are great!) read more

Best family vacation ever. Forget everything you think you know about family camp. The food is fantastic, their are endless activities or you can make no plans if you prefer a slower speed. There are CCAs that come to babysit your children every night (truly one of the best things about forest home). You will enjoy your family, grow closer to God and want to go back every year. We will never miss a year. read more

Such a wonderful family experience! The kids had a blast with their counselors, excellent speakers, and delicious food and coffee!

My review is specifically related to their family camp, which is wonderful. We've been two years in a row and paid the extra to stay in Cedar Ridge which is a new construction and really top of the line--well constructed, decorated, Pottery Barn bedding--and has incredible views. The food at family camp, especially this last year, was legitimately good (fresh, delicious, included healthy options) and as someone with food sensitivities I appreciated the care they took to have lots of gluten-free, dairy-free options. The summer staff has been wonderful, kind, Christ-like and so good with our kids. And of course the CCA program--where these sweet teenage girls help in the kids morning program and then babysit for the night is one of the main draws. I could go on about the lake, hiking, other activities, craft cabin, coffee shop etc. etc. but really if you are looking for a family camp, Forest Home is it. read more

We have been going to Forest Home Family Camp every summer for the past 20 years (except when closed for Covid and one year a flood). Our kids are now grown so this summer was only our second time without kids (one year the kids went to outlying camps and joined us for Lake Day mid week). It was still an amazing experience and brings us together in the Lord year after year. You can really feel Jesus there and experience the beautiful creation that God has made. It is a little piece of Heaven. There is no judgement from families, kids can roam and feel safe, and families take care of families. Prayers get answered. It is time to focus on relationships and on the Lord. We will be one of those old couples wandering to our cabins hand in hand for years to come. Our daughter got married and their first vacation was to join the family at Forest Home. They missed this summer but will fly next year from Kentucky to join us again. They wanted daily pictures from camp to feel included this year and will probably never miss another summer either. We went week 2 this year and the speakers were amazing. Alisa (great name!) and Chris Grace and so special and we even got to have lunch with them one day and Eric Thoennes joined us for dinner one night and we talked for well past dinner time. Can't say enough. Our kids loved hanging out with their CCA's when younger and my daughter became one as soon as she turned 13 until 18 then became a counselor. FoHo will always hold so many memories and we will continue to make more every year!! read more
