Forest Center where all the fun starts!
Jenifer L.

Forest Home was transformative for my family. It pulled us closer together, it showed us places in our lives where we needed to be turning more to God. It also gave us the freedom to simply enjoy each other's company! To not have to worry about meal or daily events planning was huge! The lodging was comfortable, the food was great with different cuisines every day/night. The family activities were so much fun! There were activities for every taste. The ministries for the kids were exceptional! I have a 4, 9, and 13 year old. All of them enjoyed their experiences! Being able to unplug for the week gave us the chance to fully connect, to fully see one another and hear Him. I'm so grateful for the experience, I hope we can make it every year!

Wonderful weekend of fellowship, worship and peace at this beautiful place, Forest Home, nestled in the mountains of San Bernardino area. This retreat is fairly close from Los Angeles area but at the same time when you get here is like you are miles away from civilization. Beautiful new cabins with all the amenities including linens and towels are provided. Food service was excellent, recreational area was the best! They even have a coffee house and coffee shop with extra food and milk shakes for the hungry crowd. Play pool, ping pong, foosball or if you are more adventures Zip line, giant swing, rope course or mini golf. Plus loads of amazing hiking! Definitely an excellent place to be if you want to get away and rest. Perfect place for retreat, conferences or camps I will definitely come back to this wonderful location as soon as I can Date of visit: November 2023 Shine Womens Retreat with the Life Bible Fellowship Church Please check Forest Home website at https://www.foresthome.org/ for more information

We had an absolutely amazing experience. I didn't know what to expect, but we took our 4 kids there for a week of family camp and it far surpassed any expectations we could have had. Our 9th grader despised the idea of going and he hasn't stopped talking about it since we got back, he ended up absolutely loving it! Our younger kids have been begging as well to return next year. We didn't have any of the issues the poor reviewers had. We had amazing service the entire time, the staff was very friendly and regularly checking in on us. The food was great and we had tons of options. It was buffet and you were welcome to get as much as you wanted. The cabins were clean; everything was well marked and explained well all throughout the week. We went with a group of 5 families from our church and they all loved it too. We commented regularly on our positive experience. Definitely recommend!

We have 6 kids and they all love this camp more than Disneyland. We've attended week 7 for the past 11 years and never had any bad experiences-- after Covid their food was bland and safe because they outsourced to a vendor, but this year they opened their kitchen again and it was back to being over the top good! All the fresh fruit and berries you can eat, bacon, fresh guacamole, salad bar, meats, etc. We go to renew our family vision for the year, grow closer to God, make family memories, get to know the precious families, enjoy a date-night every night (because of the amazing CCA program) enjoy the food, and enjoy the mountains and creek. Also, my 3 daughter's have gone up to be CCA's for several years now, and they love it! They come back refreshed spiritually and raving about their time serving families and taking care of children.

I first went to Forest Center for 6th grade outdoor education science camp. I returned as a 6th grade teacher with my students. Since 2007, we have gone every year to Family Camp, minus 2020. All five of my children have fond memories at Forest Home. The program for the kids is fun. My children have attended the summer camps for 3rd to high school. My girls were CCA's for many families at family camp. I find that I really strengthen my relationship with God and the week helps me become more in tune with my spirituality. Thank you Forest Home for providing a wonderful experience for my family.

This was our first experience at Forest Home and we could not be more pleased. The cabins were great, the food was excellent and all the people were so friendly! Several times staff went out of their way to help us, such as hanging a sheet in our room to block out the son for our 9 month old's naps. The CCA's were amazing and all of the fellowship, games, activities were incredible. We will definitely be back next year!!

We have been going to Forest Home for 12 years, and our family loves it! We have 4 kids, and have been taking our 2 nieces the last 2 years. We love the program provided for adults and our kids. Our kids ask at the end of camp each year, "When are we going back?!" When we attended last week we had an amazing teaching of the Gospel at night, and extremely helpful marriage teachings in the morning. The food was great, and we throughly enjoyed the two adult only dinners while our kids were with their child care assistants for dinner. Our younger kids loved their CCAs, and the older kids had so much fun and spiritual growth at their evening program. The family activities were well thought to build connection and teamwork in a family. We loved doing crafts in the craft cabin, even my boys joined in making glitter tubes. All of the kids spent a good portion of their free time playing pool, foosball, and the marble racquet ball that I can't remember the name of. Our toddler had fun running around, swimming, and catching lady bugs. The cabins are waaaay better than other camp facilities I've been to, and we stay in the lowest cost cabins they have. Our cabin had 2 bunk beds and one loft bed, and a full size bed. It also had a bathroom with a shower room, a toilet room, and the sink just outside the two. Our kids said the bunk mattresses were very comfortable. Our full size mattress could have been better, but as I know this camp is a non profit I know those things get updated as donations come in. Realistically this is a camp, not a hotel so something so small does not ruin my week. We informed staff who graciously took the constructive criticism, and I know from previous experience they will make improvements based on the feedback they receive. Customer service I have received has always been the best at Forest Home. I highly recommend Forest Home and all the camps they have to offer.

Forest Home could not have been any more of an absolute playground for God's will for our family! We were out with nature with like-minded Christians, enjoying all he has to offer. Highly recommend.

We loved the nature hike we had "Jelly" (a couple of our groups got rained out-obviously to no fault of the camp), we enjoyed archery, paint ball sling shots with "Stitch", painting wood necklaces, drama circle, and an amphitheater with breathtaking views of the the sunset. We loved our hike to the lake for canoeing. I too thought the pool was chilly but it was clean! Their swim rules seemed to be really intense to me. "No jumping off the edge of the pool" hmmm ok. In my opinion overly cautious. However, the Rock wall was a blast, equipment was in good condition. Hatchet throwing was hard, but fun. I wish the hatchets were sharp enough to grab the wood. It was rare anyone stuck one into the log rounds. Some combination of wood being too hard or axes not balanced correctly made that activity a struggle. We enjoyed trying. The team building activities were thoughtful and stretched our girls as individuals and forced team unity. Maybe my favorite part of all of camp. They lost a star for food quality and portions but the staff was always in good spirit. I also wish our group had the entire cafeteria to ourselves as we often were low on space at tables and often went outside as our designated seating was full. But the food was served on time and they got a lot of people food in timely fashion. They were organized. Our cabins were dry when it rained and i felt safe from the elements and wildlife that can live nearby. Some mattresses were thicker than others. I was comfortable enough for a week of camping. The plumbing struggled at times but not sure that was the camps fault or the 85 GIRLS who MAY have not disposed of things properly. Lol Overall I think with some retraining on camp cooking and a minor tweak here and there this would be a 5 star camp. The location was beautiful. The staff was friendly. The activities were super fun!

BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER!…read more My husband and I dreamed of a wedding where everyone could stay together onsite, immersed in nature, with no worries about driving after a night of fun, and Camp Osito Rancho made that dream a reality. Our families stayed in the health center, lodge, and electrified cabins, while our friends embraced the adventure of summer cabins and tents. The venue offers so many stunning spaces, from the spacious dining hall for meals to the stage/amphitheater with fire pits--perfect for s'mores and late-night stories. We exchanged vows at the top of a hill near the outdoor pavilion, with a gorgeous backdrop of pine trees and a view of Big Bear Lake in the distance. We were able to offer our guests camp activities like archery and a pool day, as well as had room to setup other activities like craft tables and lawn games. The biggest perk was the complete freedom to choose our own vendors, allowing us to create a truly personalized experience (huge shoutout to Scratch Kitchen for catering--our guests still rave about the food). We spent a year making signs, collecting décor, buying solar lights, and crafting to transform this Girl Scout camp into a full-blown wedding festival. If you're up for planning the details, this venue is the ultimate blank canvas. Last but not least, the Camp Osito Rancho team is absolutely amazing.
