Before the tour started, we also visited another barn where we got to spend time with three very friendly donkeys. They absolutely loved being petted... behind the ears, along their necks, and especially the butt scritches! The barn was also decorated for fall with hay bales covered in cute seasonal blankets and several areas that were perfect for photos. One thing that really stood out to us was how clean and well maintained the farm was. My husband grew up on a farm and has been around plenty of them, and even he commented on how clean everything was. The tour begins near the side of the store and takes you into a corralled area with the cows and alpacas. We got to meet baby Highland cows as well as two adorable three-month-old Texas Longhorns. We were able to take our time, relax, and pet the animals without ever feeling rushed. The alpacas were a little more skittish, but they were happy to come over when we offered them the provided treats. We also paid extra to go into the pig pen, and I'm so glad we did! The pigs were absolutely adorable and loved having their bellies rubbed. They have both pot-bellied pigs and Kunekune pigs, and getting to interact with them up close was one of my favorite parts of the visit. There were also beautiful reindeer on the property, although we viewed them from a distance. After the tour, I went back into the shop and, of course, ended up buying several cute things! Overall, we had such a fun and relaxing visit. The animals were adorable, the property was incredibly clean, and we never felt rushed during our time there. In a lifetime of eating grass-fed beef those hamburgers stood out for intense, rich flavor. Ordering was easy. They have their common cuts listed on their website. You email in your order. (If you want something that's not listed, just ask). I was hoping for same-day pickup to take advantage of a rare sunny day. I left my phone number and they called me back within an hour to confirm they had everything I wanted except the lamb. One beautiful drive up, it was all ready to go. I gave them my card and off I went. Easy as pie. The place is attractive, easy to find with navigation, clean, and everyone's friendly. I happened to find out this…read morefarm was delivering their lovely produce to Seattle on weekends on the final weekend of their summer run this year. Lucky me! I was able to secure a 5 lb box of the sweetest blueberries I've ever had, and a beautiful bunch of fresh dahlias in a large mason jar. What a great idea!! I put the blueberries in the freezer for a nice snack/dessert and they have lasted me several weeks! I can't wait to visit them when I drive up north in the future and hope to see them deliver to Seattle again next summer! What a treat!
