I'm here now where there's supposed to be big savings, but I still find the prices quite high so I'm not getting anything. The layout is very confusing to me. IIf I want a piece of equipment, I know where to find those sections, but the clothing is quite confusing. The service here is hit or miss. The people on the floor are usually very helpful. At checkout, though it really is hit or mess. I had one person who totally messed up in order as though she didn't know what she was doing, and I had to doublecheck and triple check to make sure there wasn't a mistake on my credit card. However, I've had other times where a more senior person has been very reasonable in rectifying problems with merchandise. It's not my favourite location for layout and I left thinking I'd rather shop online where it's easier to find what you're looking for and there's more organization. I do like how MEC is back in Canadian hands now. As of May 16, it will be under majority Canadian ownership.

This weekend I had some time to go shopping and thinking they must have a good selection because they have a large store, I went to Mountain Equipment Company (MEC). Big mistake. Incompetent staff and pants made for women with no butts. Disgusted, I went to Valhalla Pure, where I should have gone to in the first place. Moments after I walked in Valhalla Pure, an employee asked if I needed help, which I appreciated, as I desperately needed help, and it had taken a long time to find an employee at MEC (who turned out to know nothing about women's hiking pants). I explained to the employee what I was looking for (hiking pants that FIT me), and he was SO HELPFUL. He showed me a couple of different styles and brands, explained their features, and chose sizes that would fit me based on my body shape (he was absolutely spot on about the sizes). The result was that I ended up walking out of there with two pairs of pants. Next time I need something, I am definitely going straight to Valhalla Pure.

First time at this SC location…read more I was completely impressed with my entire experience. The store modern, big and bright, with the best merchandising I've seen in a long time. When I first walked in, I was greeted with a smile by a girl working at a welcoming station at the front. I asked where men's shoes were, and she showed me, but also informed me that a sales associate that was in our vicinity could help me. Perfect ! I knew exactly what I needed. I showed him the item on my phone, he looked up the product # on his handheld and off he went to get it for me. He quickly reappeared with box in hand! The shoes were exactly what I wanted and they were on sale for a really great price. I went to the cash area, where there were a few people in front of me. I didn't have to wait for more than a minute or two before it was my turn. The cashier was also smiling and friendly. She showed me how to maximize my points on the Triangle App, then I paid and was on my way. This was a really great shopping experience with customer service that goes above and beyond.

This is a raving review for Reza specifically -…read more I rushed into the store literally 30 minutes before close frantically looking for literally any snow gear that could fit me (it's difficult and I often have to shop in the Children's section). Reza is a champ and immediately got to work. He went through the entire store and pulled so much for me and was so incredibly patient even as I started becoming more picky with the options. While helping me, he was also impressively attentive with another couple who seemed to be last minute shopping as well. Generally speaking, I was really pleased with all of the customer service through out the store. From the moment I walked in, to the check out process on my way out, everyone was super pleasant, even considering the fact that they were officially closed at the time I was checking out. I went to the store and saw their selection after buying a jersey from lids in Robson and Granville and it was interesting so I did a little comparison between the two and the one from Granville sports felt so cheap and are charging the same price as other stores. The new mamba jerseys are not stitched in the Swingman form and yet they had them here. Also, when questioning where the jerseys came from, he said they were from his supplier on the US and he has no idea on exactly where the jerseys come from. If you want legitimate NBA jerseys, this is dope me place to definitely avoid.

Find a legitimate store that sell good quality bicycles that may be more in price but at least you get a better warranty for the bike plus better quality parts that can be ordered if needed for replacement. The biggest problem with Sport Chek is that their customer service skills are very poor and they have no knowledge when it comes to answering your questions because they have not been properly trained or have any experience in regard to the department they are working in especially bicycles. All they care about is suckering you in to buy a specifically expensive bike so they can make a sale then take your money and after that they basically tell you to flock off and are not helpful in any way afterwards. Even their own head office do not have any care as to how customers feel after being mistreated by specific managers or even some of the employees themselves. After that, they treat you disrespectful and accuse you of being someone you are not which in turn makes anyone not want to come back to any of their stores. Avoid Sport Chek in any way as you will be able to find better quality equipment elsewhere from a trustworthy retail store.
