First time at this SC location. I was completely impressed with my entire experience. The store modern, big and bright, with the best merchandising I've seen in a long time. When I first walked in, I was greeted with a smile by a girl working at a welcoming station at the front. I asked where men's shoes were, and she showed me, but also informed me that a sales associate that was in our vicinity could help me. Perfect ! I knew exactly what I needed. I showed him the item on my phone, he looked up the product # on his handheld and off he went to get it for me. He quickly reappeared with box in hand! The shoes were exactly what I wanted and they were on sale for a really great price. I went to the cash area, where there were a few people in front of me. I didn't have to wait for more than a minute or two before it was my turn. The cashier was also smiling and friendly. She showed me how to maximize my points on the Triangle App, then I paid and was on my way. This was a really great shopping experience with customer service that goes above and beyond. read more

This is a raving review for Reza specifically - I rushed into the store literally 30 minutes before close frantically looking for literally any snow gear that could fit me (it's difficult and I often have to shop in the Children's section). Reza is a champ and immediately got to work. He went through the entire store and pulled so much for me and was so incredibly patient even as I started becoming more picky with the options. While helping me, he was also impressively attentive with another couple who seemed to be last minute shopping as well. Generally speaking, I was really pleased with all of the customer service through out the store. From the moment I walked in, to the check out process on my way out, everyone was super pleasant, even considering the fact that they were officially closed at the time I was checking out. This is in regards to a weborder from .Sportchek. Ordered a hockey neck guard received the wrong hockey neck guard. Called them ask them why they sent me a cheaper wrong neck guard. They said human error and that all the items have been sold out. I looked on the site. Multiple stores have the items but they're unwilling to ship out the correct item and just want to refund money. My whole experience has been very negative last time I received the water bottle that wasn't packaged properly arrived all dented and chipped looking like it had been run over by a truck. I highly recommend staying away from this company as what you see on the website from my experience has either been not received or incredibly damaged. Don't expect customer service to try correct the issue without having you jump through a bunch of hoops, and do a bunch of work to get the correct item. They said I,lol have to re-order it from this other company they own to correct issue the company they said to re-order from a company called pro hockey life, which they also own . For me I ordered one item high-end and received a low end item. Just beware. They call it a human error. I call it bait and switch.. read more

My wife and I came upon this store while we were walking to the Pacific Center. She needed some gloves and a beanie for warmth as it was a little cold for her. I was more than happy about the cool weather! There's three levels of various sporting goods and clothing, but it's obvious I'm in Canada and not Hawaii lol. There's a bunch of hockey, skiing, and similar winter sports gear, and a large selection of shoes. The prices weren't too bad. My wife did find something she liked... But we waited FOREVER in line to pay. The staff were friendly and courteous, but if there's a long line and you have only one register open and that cashier is handling a customer purchasing almost $1000 worth of products, shouldn't the manager call someone to open up another register??? Someone did finally open one up, but it took way too long. If you come to Vancouver and don't ha be enough clothing, this is a decent place to get what you need. read more

There was a literally no sports equipment here just clothes. I went in for a hockey stick and across 3 floors there isn't a single piece of hockey equipment or any other sports equipment. The running shoes that I bought were loose when I wore them at home. So I checked the label inside the shoes. The shoe size conversion was wrong: US 7 was not equal to UK 5.5, FR 38.5, JP 240, or CHN 235. The sizes did not match with each other (US 7 was equal to UK 4.5 and FR 37). Also, the shoe size JP 240 and CHN 235 did not exist. I was shocked. I wanted to exchange with a different size but the shoe sizes of my range were not available as indicated of the store availability online. Unfortunately, I cannot run with these shoes because they are loose. read more

I came in for Boxing Day around 2:30pm. It was packed because there were sales throughout the whole store. First & foremost I'd like to say that the customer service there was amazing. I was looking for a snowboarding jacket and Sandy really helped me and my mother. Apparently there's 3 Sandy's, but she was the one on the third floor. I'm really thankful that she guided us into what was best for my situation. I was really picky and asked so many questions. She was very knowledgeable and confident with all of the apparel at the store. I was not only impressed by her recommendations and help, but she was also multitasking and helping everyone around her. This is a new Sport Chek that just opened after they closed down the one in Pacific Center. This location is 3 full floors. Inside its very spacious and clean to walk in. As well they also made this location very high techie. It has so many LCD screen banner or ad around the store. Lots of choices in terms of sport wear. As well they have more staff working here which makes it very attentive. The staff are very friendly here. We came just about closing and they did remind us of their closing time but they don't rush you. As well they only lock the doors past 10pm which is their closing time. So no rush. I came here to get basketball shoes and shorts. First I couldn't find any women's basketball shorts, everything was spandex and sections weren't labeled. So I checked the men's section but they were all huge. I went to the shoe section and waited for 10 mins. No one came. I didn't even see an employee in the store. Massive waste of time. I still needed the shoes though so I went back the next day and the same thing happened. What a joke. read more

We went there twice in this couple months and every time we have to wait 20 min for size for 1 shoe. Each time we spent two hours to buy 1 shoe. They are slow and don't have enough staff. Staff are kind but they have no knowledge of any type of feet problems like plantar fasciitis. Even small shoe stores have better-educated staff in the store about feet. read more

Wow, what an impressive store! Multileveled (three stories), well laid-out, huge selection of sporting apparel and gear and accessories for all major sports (eg., tennis and racquetball, ball sports, etc.) and athletic activities (eg., biking, running, etc.) , all the big name brands, lots of helpful (but not intrusive) staff on the floors and ample check-out cashiers. We loved the official/licensed Canadian hockey jerseys and Olympic team clothing. There's the coolest sporting apparel/gear mural spanning a few floors by the escalator whereby they screwed helmets and running shoes and racquets and more into the wall, going up to the ceiling, and painted it all white. It's very arresting and visually dramatic. They have tons of footwear and the machinery there to analyze one's stride and gait, so as to recommend the proper shoe for you. And there are Fitbits and energy bars, too. And pricey winter jackets and ski pants. (This place is not where you'll find any steals, to be sure). There was a decent sized area for kids' sporting apparel. And I noted how nice the dressing rooms were laid out, too. There are cool holographic boxes interspersed throughout the store with various sporting goods depicted therein, and large touch-screen displays installed in walls to assist the shopper in finding whatever he/she is looking for. My kid could've spent all day in this store. There's definitely a lot to see. Later at our hotel, when talking about our respective adventures, a few of my friends mentioned that they too came to this store and they loved it. The brand new Sport Chek opened up a new location this usmmer on Robson Street, taking the longstanding place of what was previously Chapters bookstore. When wandering in on a lazy Sunday, we were immediately impressed by the customer service and massive storefront with pretty much everything I could think of relating to the major sporting communities of Vancouver. There are three floors, each emphasizing a different category of sports or type of equipment, and showcasing a wide selection of products. I love the 'Connected Retail' feel of this Sport Chek location, showcasing a willingness to adopt innovative retail technologies to showcase products and improve the customer experience. For example, they have some hologram boxes looping through product/athlete adverts, and they have a setup in the Biking section which leverages 3D motion detection technology on a giant screen. There's a lot happening in this store, but it's well balanced so as to not be overwhelming for the customer. There is a great deal of competition for Sport Chek here, given the abundance of shopping in nearby shopping centres and along Robson Street, not to mention the niche sporting goods stores sprinkled around downtown. My impression is that the store is still getting used to operating at this Robson location, as evidenced by internal communication troubles and shortage of staff in some sections. That said, I am very much looking forward to seeing how Sport Chek becomes a presence in downtown to support the sporting community. read more

The Store Manager Jocelyn fired me for making a complaint against a female employee named Marissa that threatened to punch me in the face in front of a customer and the next day I lost my job.Jocelyn took her side cause there both females and I'm a guy.I spoke to Jocelyn on the phone and told her this is unfair Jocelyn was very rude and told me I dont need to give you a explanation your terminated goodbye.So guys don't apply here Jocelyn is a bad Manager and will fire you if you stand up for yourself.I was very upset by Jocelyn's behavior but I know karma will get her soon.Maybe when her son grows up and gets treated this way Jocelyn will then learn. read more

I went for black Friday sale and the prices were fair but the customer service wasn't good as it used to be. I grabbed a workout T-shirt and once I went to pay it the price was higher than the price tag and when i ask why , the cashier who I don't remember her name but i think she was from India treated me very unfriendly and unprofessionally and asked her colleague to correct the price. I can't explain her behavior which I experienced that time but that wasn't like I used to see in the store. read more

3 or 4 weeks ago, I needed running shoes, specifically for trail running. I had a great experience even though it was very busy, I had to wait a few minutes which is fine. I bought a pair of Saucony trail running shoes (that I am very happy with) and have gone back since recently to buy a pair of New balance trail running shoes so that I have an alternate trail running shoe. Pretty great selection here. On the first floor you can get consultation about shoes/insoles etc. I've been back a few times for insoles (for runners) and got help. Not all the staff are bright stars though. When I asked for the best track pants, a blonde woman on the second floor couldn't get her mind around the concept, and referred me upstairs where there are piles of flannel jackets and, you know, actual pants. Rolling my eyes, I came back downstairs and found some myself. Just before I was leaving she (sarcastically?) asked if I had any luck finding my "rain pants".. Is she trolling me? English is clearly her first language. Just a few days ago, I swung by to pick up some New Balance runners. Unfortunately they didn't have my size. He suggested I try another size. I was literally wearing New Balance (I'm a fan) so no, I don't want to buy a pair in the wrong size, thanks. I couldn't help noticing (first floor, far wall) there was pretty much nowhere for customers to sit and try on shoes. There was one circular bench with about 6 people crawling all over it, including a member of staff. I told my clerk "I'll take care of it" and snapped a few pictures of the shoes, with every intention to go online and order them. He caught my drift and suggested I head to Burnaby as Metrotown had a pair my size. I got home and ordered the exact color/style/size I wanted from a Google search. Super A+ for excellence in customer service. I was helped by the floor manager and one of the footwear employees. I bought a pair of runners right after the Covid break and more than 60 days later (beyond return date) the inside of one of the heels started to wear. I took the shoes into show SportChek and they gave me a friendly refund/exchange with a smile; plus the difference I saved as the shoes were now on sale! I will definitely be back! It's all about the clothes, people. Seriously, this place has very very little sports equipment. Does have a lot of 70$+ Nike "designer" shorts though. And hot-looking models on big posters on the wall. If your fashion sense and your physical fitness goals are all about your gym clothes, this be the place. Tried to return a !"#!$!"#$ Fitbit Charge 3 which was malfunctioning. Since I did not have the packaging, because who would have thought that after 12 years of product development, a Fitbit would not work properly. For instance, the minute I walk up, it would say I already did 1,000 steps for the day. Unless I am a sleep walker, this is defective. The store would do nothing for me other than to try to reset it to the manufacturing default. As a customer experience, this company gets a big zero in my books. I believe I shopped at any of their stores for the last time. Will most likely make the trip to REI in the US, instead! Had a similar experience with them with a GPS gadget 3 years ago, for my bike, not a single issue, they took it back in an instant! MEC will be my local choice! read more

I get told I have to be home to pick up and they are only open 5 days a week. When you work 5 days a week, it makes it impossible! read more

This review is based on the exceptional service I received at this store. Upon entering, I was welcomed by two staff members (I later found out that the woman who helped me at that point was the store's manager). I told her what I was looking for and she said she'd get someone to help me. That someone was Nic, who very pleasantly surprised me with the kind of helpful service that has almost disappeared from local businesses. He listened to what I wanted and did everything he could to help me find it. I need a wide fitting shoe and we even tried a men's shoe to get the width, but it was too big overall. At this point, he could have tried to steer me to another brand/style/colour (I wanted only solid black) in order to make a sale. This, thankfully, he did not do. Nic actually paid attention to what I'd requested and made no annoying attempt to put me into something I didn't want. When this shop could not provide what I wanted, Nic even suggested where else I might look and offered to do some online research to help me find the right shoe for me! Now how is that for fantastic service? I ended up chatting with him and then realized I was keeping him from potential customers, but he couldn't have been nicer. I walked out of SportChek thinking "That's how I want to be treated as a customer!" and I will certainly return for any future sporting goods needs for myself or my family. We did the gait analysis to figure out which type of shoe appropriate to me and I'm delighted with my final purchase. One of the best shoe buying experience I've ever had. ANA was my sales associate and her kinesiology degree came into action when she watched my walk/gate and recommended 3 shoes for me. She was knowledge about the shoes, very friendly and extremely patient. She also helped get the right insole for my shoe since I have high arches. Since seeing her my knee pain when I run I gone! I finally came down to this sport check. Still trips me out that this is no longer a Chapters. I came here to look at some badminton birds and possibly a second pair of runners for a trip that I am making at the end of the month so that I have a spare set of shoes with proper soles. I found the salesperson a bit pushy at first but he seemed to ease off a bit when he saw how annoyed I was. I did get some good options for basic black shoes that were within my budget. Horrible customer service. We walked in 25 minutes before closing. The staff was so busy folding clothes in back and chatting that no one could help us for shoes. After 20 minutes we finally got someone to help us. He brought us out shoes and it turned out the brand ran small so they didn't fit. He then told us they were closed now and he can't bring out anymore. We were told to come back in the morning. When I told him I won't come back to this type of customer service, I was told they were under staffed. If understaffed, why inconvenient you customers? Spend the extra 2 minutes to bring out a pair of shoes. Obviously they either don't need the business or don't want it. read more
