I have been TREMENDOUSLY pleased with Luikart's! I came to Waco, TX for Baylor University and wanted to find a trustworthy mechanic that I could rely on being so far from home. I certainly found that with Ken! I have taken my '04 Volvo to Ken for the past 3 years and my car is serviced quickly, the issue is always resolved, and it is for a reasonable price. Recently, I had an issue with my Volvo and Ken was very honest and said that I should take it to the Volvo dealership in Temple, TX, because they could get the part for cheaper than he was able to. He wanted to save me the extra money, instead of taking the business for himself. Then, while it was at the Volvo dealer, I asked those mechanics if they could check out the car's alignment. They drove the car and told me I needed a new power steering rack and that it would be about $4,000! I took it to Ken a few days later and I am SO glad that I did! Ken put the car up on an alignment machine (which Volvo did not do) and found that my control arm bushings were completely worn out on both sides of the car. This was causing the problem and my power steering was fine! He was able to replace the part incredibly quickly and for only $1,000! If I had stayed with the Garlyn Shelton Volvo dealership, I would have paid an obscene price and never resolved the problem!! Also, two years ago, I took my car to Ken's and he found that I needed the left front axle replaced. He promptly fixed the problem and had my car returned within a few days. Several months later, I noticed my car was driving a little funny and brought it back to him. He diagnosed that the left front axle had been a faulty part and immediately offered to replace it immediately, completely for free! A previous customer commented that he was concerned with the guarantee of his services, because it is not in writing. Ken always stands by his word and his service! There was never a question whether he would make me pay or not. He immediately offered to fix it, even though it was the part manufacturer's fault and not his. I 100% recommend Ken Luikart to anyone looking for a trustworthy mechanic!!!!! Also, Sandy, the woman that works in the front office, is LOVELY and a joy to see everytime I bring my car in! So, stop by and say hello :) read more

If I could give Foreign Auto Clinic negative five stars, I would. I've spent over $15,000 with them, possibly close to $20,000, and my experience has been terrible as fuck. I paid over $8,000 for an engine replacement. They told me my vehicle was ready and that a technician had driven it 25 miles with no problems. I drove less than a mile before it started knocking and making noise, so I turned around and brought it right back. The same thing happened on another pickup. Eventually, I was told the engine was bad and they had to find another one. I waited months to get my vehicle back. At one point, my car had been sitting there for three months without an update. I kept having to call, and they acted like I was bothering them. Of course a customer is going to be mad when you've had their car that damn long and aren't telling them what's going on. In April, I even messaged Scott, whom I believed was the owner based on an article I'd seen about the shop. I still have proof that I reached out. I don't know whether he saw it, but I was trying to get answers. Now I'm disputing an extra $140 diagnostic hour on my latest bill. Gary says I authorized it, but my understanding of our call was that he had already told me what was wrong and what I would have to pay. I told him I'd pay what I owe, but I don't agree that I owe this charge. When I said it wasn't about the $140, he replied, "Obviously it was." I asked to speak with the manager, Devin, and felt I got the same attitude. I told them I'd spent over $15,000 there, possibly $20,000, and asked if this was how they treated a customer spending that kind of money. When I said I would take my business elsewhere, I was told, "Yeah, you can just go. You can take your business elsewhere." After all that money, the repeated returns, the months without my car, and the way they spoke to me, they really got me fucked up. I will never bring a car there again. I'm looking for a repair shop with integrity--one that cares about its customers and handles problems professionally. read more

My moms husband died in a car wreck last year and she's currently living on minimal social security. With the cost of life, her budget is so tight. She found an ad (no where on the add did it say you had to bring it in!!) for a 69.00 dollar oil change- she called Foreign Auto Clinic and booked an appointment - she was very clear that she had a coupon. She went in today, waited for 2.5 hours and when it came time to pay they charged her well over 200 dollars. She started to tear up and explained that she couldn't afford that. The man behind the counter was so rude to her that she left crying. She was crying so bad that she couldn't see and wrecked her car. She called me sobbing after she wrecked, big ugly crying!! I've never heard her cry like that. I didn't even know what had happened until I got all the way to her from Lorena. To say that I am livid is an understatement. It took everything in me not to storm over there. I am shocked at the lack of professionalism and just overall empathy. I would have even been willing to drive this ad into town, since they insisted she needed it. He even had the audacity to show her the ad in a magazine on the counter and say, "you mean this one!" (He freaking had one he could have used for her), "oh, you have to have it with you." She tried to explain that it didn't say she had to bring it and she told them when she called and booked her appointment. I called and left a message for the owner (they were rude to me too, big surprise ). I've asked that the owner reach out to me as soon as possible. But honestly, even if they give her back her money, it doesn't make this situation right. This is not okay. read more

I am soooo happy I was told about this place! I was worried my car wouldn't run anymore due to VW of Waco telling me my car was pretty much "totaled/ even if we did the work we don't know if it will even run or start." So, I decided to get a second opinion because it just didn't feel right with how much they were quoting me and as a last ditch effort. Paula was super sweet and let me consult with her and Davin about the car. They quoted me and said the tech was even able to RUN the car the same day it was towed over for diagnosis. I was in shock because last I heard it wasn't able to and I was thinking the worst dealing with VW. They sent me the invoice and gave me plenty of time to work through the best options to get the car running again properly. They took a couple days and my car was BACK running like nothing happened! I can't be more happy with how I was treated being helped the whole experience! Thank you so much for the amazing service, you have a lifelong customer whenever I need services! Again thank you to the whole team for taking care of my car. read more

They claim to work on Volvo vehicles but when we took our 2016 Volvo SUV there recently as we suspected the supercharger was gone, they agreed that it's the supercharger but wouldn't do the work. Told us to take it to a Volvo dealership for replacement. Thanks for wasting our time and charging us $155. We wouldn't have even taken it to Luikart's in the first place if they didn't claim to service Volvo vehicles. If you have a Volvo, go elsewhere for repairs. read more

We have an Lr4 and needed a LR certified tech. They are one of two places in Waco that have techs. The other was on his way to Alaska for vacation! (Totally envious!). I was in town for a concert for the weekend and to visit an old friend when my alternator decided to die as I was pulling into my parking spot at my Hotel. (A God thing) So I was able to get it towed to Foreign Car Center where Paula & Gavin were amazingly helpful and always responsive! I would highly recommend their service at any time! WAco is blessed to have them! read more

Foreign specialist. Changed owners but still serious car gurus. Thank you for good communication and honest repairs

I had to bring my land rover in for oil leak and brake diagnostic. Ken called me and explained what was going on and what needed to be fixed. I feel they treated me fairly and fixed what they said they would. I feel like their price is kind of high, but from what I can tell great quality work. I would use them again, but will do more research on price. read more

First visit: Service was quick and issue was resolved quickly, but was a bit pricey. Being new in town, I was happy to find a place that specialized in repairing BMWs and the like. One thing I would warn against... Luikarts does not provide a written warranty with your repair because I was told "their computer system was too old". Make sure you get something written down before you leave, otherwise it's going to be their word against yours if something goes wrong because of or with the repaired components. There is no warranty period/information on any paperwork you get when you leave. Update: Charges 58 dollars for an estimate which I did not encounter with my first experience. When I brought my BMW in the most recent time... Was not told there would be a charge for an estimate. Didn't sign anything. I would not recommend doing business with Luikharts. read more

Drove my BMW 328I to the shop. The care was going into "limp mode" from time to time. Was told car needed a new battery cable $400 plus installation of said cable $2,200. Told them I would install the cable myself at that price. Went to pick up car, paid them $596.57. I had to have the car towed to my house (the same car I drove to the shop) at my cost. Once I looked at the car, the battery cable only needed to be cleaned. I cleaned the cable and there was no damage at all to the cable. Took the $400 cable back (unopened, in original packing) and requested a refund for a cable I did not need. They said it was special order and no refund would be made. I reminded them that they had said the cable was needed when, in fact, it was not. I offered to take the mechanic to the car so he could see the old cable only needed to be cleaned. They said no. They screwed me but it could have been worse.....I could have paid an additional $2,200 for them to replace a cable that was in good working order. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THE PLACE LOOKS NICE, IS CLEAN BUT THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!! read more

I took my '65 Corvette in to Luikart's for a brake problem. I was concerned that since the business says "Foreign Car Clinic" and my car is so old, that they might not be qualified. However, Ken and the guys did a great job and I would recommend taking any car to them for repair, not just a foreign car. Also, I like the personal touch of Ken always being at the shop to answer any questions or concerns rather than going to a dealership and you have no clue as to who is dealing with your car and who to ask if there is a question read more

I have taken my cars to Luikart's for several years now and they are always very nice. They are very reasonable and always very helpful. The prices have been lower than what other garages had quoted. They even replaced the battery for my keyless entry key for me at no charge. They are very trustworthy and only perform work on your car that is really needed. read more

Great people, great service. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. These guys are the best. Very pleased....

Kenny Luikart and his staff did an excellent job with my Nissan Murano. They diagnosed the problem promptly and repaired it at a fair price--regardless of the fact that I'm a blonde! It's been runnning great for the past year. Thanks Kenny. read more

I requested a labor-only quote for installing tie rods on my Porsche. The owner indicated "a ballpark price of around $500". Rather shocked, I decided to drive back to Garland so my Porsche mechanic there could install them for $75, which is much closer to the Chilton Labor Guide's quote for the procedure. I suggest customers research and price check before committing to Luikarts. read more

He employs good mechanics. He is helpful most of the time. He is very pricey. His costs, prices seem to be more important than the repair. He recently did a repair for us. The repair was correct, the service was negligent at best. We will not use him again. read more
