I saw Dr. Rama for a cosmetic procedure (for which I had paid in advance). On my way out, she slapped me with a $50.00 "co-pay" for a bogus pathology lab service that was never discussed, ordered, or performed. Sadly, this appears to be the culture of this practice and its doctors. The Department of Justice reported that Forefront recently paid $850,000 to resolve false claims for wound procedures that were never performed. That's a lot of bogus claims. My wife recently had one little spot "punched out" which took no more than a few minutes ( if that) and insurance was billed for 5 procedures for a total cost of $ 1498.96 and our payment was $254.88 Sure seems like price gouging to us...I used to respect this establishment! read more

Forefront Dermatology was recommended by two trusted friends. I need to have a couple of new spots checked out, but was reluctant to go to a dermotologist as I had an unpleasant experience at two different places. I am so glad I trusted my friends. After a very short wait I was taken into a room and immediately was able to give my information. As soon as that was finished, a doctor came in and within two minutes I had answers. Two spots were fine, but I needed a biopsy on one. The biopsy was done immediately and painlessly. I have another appointment next week for possible excision of that spot. I was so comfortable being at Forefront. the staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. I was on my way in a short time. I was used to waiting half an hour for an appointment, then usually another fifteen minutes to see the doctor, and never to see a smile. read more

I was seen by Dr. Rama and she was very professional. She prescribed a topical prescription ointment. When I went to my local Rite-aid pharmacy , they did not have my prescription. I called the doctor's office and the ladies said they did not know which Rite-aid they sent it to. They gave me a phone number and said try to track it down. My wife and have been patients at Forefront Dermatology for years. My wife recently had an appointment which one small wart was removed from her finger. The bill we received, in our opinion, was absurd! Insurance was billed $682. $419 for 1tiny wart removal and $263 for office visit and our payment is $ 186. I will file a complaint with BC/BS before I pay the bill and definitely look for a new dermatologist! When I called the office with my concern the response was quite disinterested! read more

I have left three reviews and had all of them taken down. As a result of seeing this dermatologist, I now have a chronic, miserable, and expensive condition. I wish I could time travel to three years ago and pass out before stepping foot in this asylum. If I were so inclined and had the time on my hands, I would be well within my means to sue. Terrible experience. I was seen for 5 minutes for my appointment when I was then incorrectly diagnosed with perioral dermatitis by PA Erin Van Tiem. I was prescribed a topical medication to help and it did nothing. I had two more follow up appointments months later where I expressed that the rash around my mouth and cheek were different. The topical medication was BURNING my lips and I was basically told that's what it was and since I was nursing my baby, I couldn't take oral antibiotic. After a year with this rash on my lips I followed up with a totally different doctor at a different practice and was diagnosed with TOTALLY different skin issues - rosacea and lip licker dermatitis. The lip licker dermatitis was healed in days. This issue was effecting my mental health postpartum and clearly this PA did not care one bit. I would NOT recommend Forefront dermatology OR at least not recommend seeing Erin. Very disappointed that I wasted my time and money there. read more

I have never felt so rushed during a medical appointment in my life. I had melanoma 4 years ago so I am no stranger to full-body skin check derm visits. I have had about 15-20 of these visits since 2019 at two other offices and none of them ever felt like this; they were very thorough and methodical, looking at each area of my body with care and documenting/photographing any areas of concern. This was my first visit to this office and I was in disbelief at how quickly and carelessly my exam was being conducted from the second the provider walked in. The provider (Erin) was well aware of my medical history but barely gave most areas of my body a second glance. I had to ask her to look under my clothing and when she did, it was reluctantly. I tried to take my hair down so she could examine my scalp (as all other providers have done) and she declined. She asked me a question about one of my excision scars but it was so hurried and vague that I honestly am not even sure what she was asking, or which one she was asking about. My attempt to clarify was not successful. I said that I was uncomfortable with how quickly the exam was going and asked if we could slow down. She did not even dignify my concern with a verbal response but instead reached over me to grab a pamphlet and handed it to me wordlessly. I am astonished that a patient can speak up to express a concern like this and be brushed off so casually. I frankly do not care if you are running behind on your appointments for the day, or whatever the reason for this was. I have a high risk of melanoma recurrence, which can quickly spread and become deadly if not treated promptly. There is a reason I have to go multiple times a year for a skin check. If something goes undetected because the provider was in too much of a hurry to notice it, that could quite literally become a matter of life and death for me. The way I was treated was unacceptable and I would urge anyone seeking medical care to avoid this practice. This might be an okay place to go if you are seeking cosmetic treatments. This provider in particular seems like she might be more focused on Botox and Juvederm certifications. If that's the case, you should consider working as an esthetician and not make yourself available for dermatological care and cancer screenings. I do also suspect that the way my visit went was influenced by the fact that I do not have medical insurance and was planning to self-pay, which is abhorrent. This felt like nothing more than an attempt to get as many patients in and out the door as possible in a given day, which is extremely upsetting when it's a matter so serious as cancer detection. read more

Where do I start? This place is Top Notch! Professional staff that is kind, patient, and excellent in Customer Care! I had a Great Experience here with Dr. Rama! She is extremely educated in her field and listens to her patients with Great Concern for their situation. I Highly recommend her to anyone experiencing issues that concern Dermotology! I love Ann Arbor Dermatology! The office staff is so nice and they have always been more than helpful. The doctors are great as well. I haven't ever left the office feeling like they didn't hear my concerns. I even got some really helpful advice from one of the doctors about a problem I wasn't even aware of. I can hardly write this review because I am so upset at what was done to me with no regard. Had a skin infection which was treated with THREE oral antibiotics, until I showed up AGAIN to the office to show them the mess my face - and body - had become. I did not see Dr. Rama because it was during the Christmas holiday, but thankfully I saw another doctor who clearly was concerned that I had been overmedicated and suggested I go to the ER. I did not because I do not have insurance, and also it would have required me to stay multiple nights. I have a job and a life and pets. This careless attempt to heal a mild case of impetago has created chronic problems. When I questioned what was happening with my skin, I was told multiple times that it is "hereditary." Said with a smile and no information. That was mid December. I am still suffering a LOT from these reckless prescriptions, and that can not be understated. I can hardly drive by that building, as they created so many problems that I never had before. P.S. Last time I was there I did not wear a mask - which is utterly stupid anyway - but nose and mouth were a huge mess due to their mistreatment - and the receptionist gave me a hard time about it. Why would I trust anyone who thinks this is sane? I despise this office. Thank you to Dr. Erin, the one person I spoke to who made sense and didn't treat me like a toddler. read more

I looked for a place close to home. Check. I ended up waiting so long for my five minute appointment. It's so frustrating. Why don't they give out pagers or text you when you're 10 minutes from your appointment so you're not sitting in a Drs office for an hour wasting your good life away. It makes NO sense!!!!! Or if the wait is going to be over 15 minutes, they could call ahead and let you know. Or text you!!! There are so so many ways they could avoid having anxious people sit in their waiting room. read more

I visited Ann Arbor Dermatology a couple of weeks ago. It was a great experience. The staff was super friendly and I didn't sit in the waiting room forever waiting to be seen as I have in other doctors offices. The nurse and Doctor were both informative and made me feel comfortable with the procedure I was having done. I also felt the Doctor spent a lot of time with me and was genuinely concerned about my care. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a Dermatologist in the Ann Arbor area. read more
