From the moment you check in to when you check out, the experience is unpleasant. I'm genuinely surprised this office has so many positive reviews. I visited this clinic seeking help for my son's skin condition. He had developed white patches on his face, which was very distressing for me. Dr. Ko handled the appointment and initially diagnosed him with Pityriasis Alba, prescribing a face wash and cream. We scheduled a follow-up, but during that visit, she changed her diagnosis to vitiligo. I asked how she could make such a diagnosis without performing any tests, such as a blood test or biopsy. She told me there were no tests necessary and that this was simply what it was. I left the appointment feeling very upset and unsure. Seeking a second opinion, I visited another doctor who performed a biopsy. The results confirmed it was not vitiligo. Today, I called the office at 5:08 PM to cancel a future appointment, but they were already closed--even though Google listed their closing time as 5:30 PM. It's disheartening to see doctors give inaccurate diagnoses and play with people's emotions. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Dr. Ko or this office to anyone.

This was the first time going to the Novi location and now after this I'll be finding a new dermatologist! Believe the reviews when you see them. I've never had a problem with other offices when I tell them I don't feel comfortable keeping my card on file. This young ignorant girl told me they can't see me then! I was there for a skin cancer check! How awful to tell someone you can't see them because once you hear their policy that they can charge up to $300 a month it's a load of crap! I made the appointment at 3:30, was arrived at 4:15 and was seen and on my way out the door by 4:45. That being said -- I wasn't rushed. I just didn't have to wait, he came in, talked with me at length, both about what was going on and some things that proved how well he knows his stuff and how long he has been doing this (30+ years). However, he seems to be completely up on new info and medicines. I'd highly recommend!

My husband has been a patient of Dr Chiara's for years. After several moves (further and further away from his main office in Milford) he/we are still coming to his practice for any skin concerns we may have. We love the Novi office because it is a lot closer to us than Milford, but we just as gladly drive the additional half hour. Heck, we'd drive to Grand Rapids if we had to. Setting up an appointment is easy, and they do their best to get you in as soon as possible. Talk to Oxana (the Dr's wife) or Lisa (she's awesome) and you will receive stellar service, because both are super friendly and professional. Dr Chiara himself is patient, sweet and wonderful. He will do anything to get you better, and genuinely cares about your progress and well-being in the process.

I called about changing my appointment and was told that, because it was my first time, the $100 fee would be waived if I rescheduled. When I later saw the charge, I went to the office with my child, kept my original appointment, received the treatment, and paid for it. While I was there, I was told again that the $100 charge would be removed. It wasn't. After I followed up in person, I was told it was an "honest mistake" and that someone would call me. No one did. My calls and email went unanswered. I disputed the charge with American Express, but the temporary credit has now been reversed, so I am still being charged the $100 I was twice told would be removed. I paid for the treatment I received. What makes me angry is being promised twice that this additional charge would be removed, then having to spend months chasing an answer. Based on my experience, do not go here. I cannot recommend a business that handles a billing problem this way.

The woman on the phone seemed totally unconcerned and did not offer any apology - I would personally be concerned if text message reminders were not getting to patients. I work in health care and know that no-shows can cause a lot of revenue loss as the physician loses a block of time that day they cannot bill. Seems like I'd be investigating issues with the reminder system if revenue loss could be prevented... Initial review: I recently moved back to Michigan after leaving for nearly a decade. One of the first things on my list was finding new doctors. I had seen Dr. Cetner many years before and remembered I really liked him. Since it had been so long, I was considered a new patient again. I was able to get in to see him in about a month (which, coming from Chicago, is not a bad wait time for a dermatologist at all). A lot of the reviews here were about the front desk staff - I had no issue with them. Yes, they're not overly friendly...but they're not mean. The MA/nurse who roomed me was very friendly. I didn't have to wait long to see Dr. Cetner. As I remembered, he has a great bedside manor. I work in health care and worked with many doctors - some are friendly and personable, while many are not. Dr. Cetner is definitely one of the good ones. He always throws a few non-medical related questions about your life in and then gets down to the skin-related stuff. My visit was very basic - just renewing some prescriptions - but it was fast and efficient. I was probably there for no more than a total of 30/40 minutes. I left happy and will be back to see Dr. Cetner for any skin-related issues I may have!

I explained that my insurance only has a $50 copay which which the office takes day of being seen, but was told that I could not be seen without a card on file or the $100 deposit because that is corporate policy. This is pre billing which is illegal. I refused the pre-billing policy and they said I could pick up my records anytime. I have always recommended Dr. Cetner but not anymore. This is bad business and bad patient care. Go somewhere else unless you prefer to be victimized and putting your money at risk when their system is hacked.
