High quality books with a great selection especially for it's size. The artists, from glass sculptures to modern canvas art and photos on display, are also of high quality. A bookstore who also offers alot to the community with involvement in art walk, music events, a monthly poetry and spoken word series, and also publishes an anthology of fiction for local teens. This little gem of a bookstore is so cute. For a tiny store they had a pretty decent size rare books section. I was able to pick up a Dickens 1950s hardcover set to add to my collection. Next time I'm in Brookings I will definitely be returning. read more

What a gem. Anyone who understands the value of rare books is about to open a treasure chest by coming here. The whole place is an art piece with its unique, yet unpretentious atmosphere and collection of antique curious objects , such as exquisite inkwells. On Saturday afternoon we got to meet cheerful owners, be treated to a piece of locally caught smoked salmon, great conversation and book recommendations. Can't wait to be back. read more

One of the best things about this store is the fact that it was open on New Years Eve, unlike most of the other stores in the area. The girl behind the counter was nice, helpful, and chatty. The store is small, but the variety of books they carry is great. They have a decent horror/sci-fi section, which I love, and they keep the books in pristine alphabetical order, making it easier to find specific titles. Best of all, this store smells like the old book stores I loved as a kid. Old book smell should be a Yankee Candle scent. Of all the stores to not be closed on this day, I'm glad this was the one. read more

What an amazing find in this day of online bookstores and very few "real" ones! My daughter found it first and purchased a little-known book in a slip-cover by Louisa May Alcott for my birthday. Then, as a further birthday treat, she took me there to enjoy the store for myself, and did I ever! We were greeted at the outside bargain racks by a very friendly, informative man who answered our questions and welcomed us. We went inside and met the bookstore dog (a first...there are usually only bookstore cats!) We browsed through the well-laid-out rooms and shelves, guided by a floor-plan map in the front of the store. I found a book by a favorite, but obscure, author (Audrey Erskine Lindop) from 1948 with slip cover for $6.00, plus several other books suitable for my granddaughters, etc! There are even some chairs scattered around for ease in perusing one's treasures! I will definitely be a repeat customer! read more

It's such a sweet little spot! There are plenty of books to choose from, it's a beautiful little shop, and the man behind the counter was very helpful. He even gives you a free agate for good luck upon checkout! I will definitely be frequenting this shop! Highly recommend for my fellow bookworms. read more
