Everyone here is so nice -- they offer you a bev as soon as you walk in, and had a bowl of York peppermint patties on the table (my kryptonite). The inside is bright and colorful, a great place to spend an hour or two to get your hair done! The shampoo area is darker and relaxing, perfect place to unwind with some cucumber water or vino. Came here for a full head of highlights and a trim with Lilly! It turned out amazing! All of the stylists seem very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Thoroughly trained, great conversationalists, care about what you want with your head, all of the good things. I'd recommend Lilly to anybody! She does a fabulous haircut, is a great shampooer, gentle, and precise. If you need color services, especially blonding, I believe that's her specialty! This is definitely the place to come in Birmingham if you're wanting to do something a little bit out of the ordinary. Lots of the stylists are versed in bright colors and edgier cuts. Parking seems like it would be hard, but I've always been able to pull into a little spot on the side. This is a great, convenient location! The prices are so reasonable and it's a huge place! Their stylists are all very knowledgeable and masters at their craft. Forecast is the best salon in BHAM that I've visited, and I've been to many. Brittany did my color and blow-out, the color is even and rich, and the blowout made my hair look the best it possibly can/ever has (it's thick, curly, and damaged). Brittany is a mind reader. She always delivers better than what I had dreamed up in my head. Ashley put in my extensions while I enjoyed a mimosa at 11am on a Wednesday . She was so kind when my plan changed several times during the course of their application. They look awesome- looks like my own hair. Forecast is the best thing Birmingham has going in the hair industry. Just had my first service at Forecast, and it was amazing! I was a little wary going to a salon since COVID-19, but the amount of care and thought the salon is putting towards being safe is truly impressive. Guests wait in their cars until their stylist is ready, my emperature was checked on arrival, all guests must wash their hands/sanitize phones on arrival, stations were spaced out, and employees and guests were all wearing masks and using hand sanitizer around the clock. They are sanitizing every surface in the salon every 90 minutes and have an air scrubber to reduce contamination in the air. I felt very reassured and safe getting a hair service at Forecast. The interior decor is very modern and relaxing, and I love that the owner's friendly dog was at the salon as well. They also offer alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks which I will definitely enjoy at my next service, but I held off so that I could keep my mask on the entire time given that I work in healthcare and have had some recent COVID-19 exposures. Alicia gave me a perfect haircut (just a trim with long layers) all while being sweet, bubbly and a friendly face to talk to. She gave the best head massage with my shampoo. It seems like she is new to working part-time at Forecast, but has been working in hair for over 10 years and works full-time for a hair product company providing education on hair & coloring-- she seemed like a true pro, and I would definitely recommend her! Forecast Salon, located in Homewood near Little Donkey and Holler & Dash, has mastered the art of a modern, clean, innovative space and making its clients feel like royalty. I was greeted at the front desk by an attendant who seemed genuinely glad that I was there. There's nothing like an establishment that makes you feel like it's doing you a favor by serving you - not a good feeling. Forecast did the opposite. I was offered (and I gratefully accepted) a complimentary mimosa since I had arrived a few minutes early for my appointment. I got my "special treatment" from Diana. Even though I gave Diana permission to do whatever she felt was best for my hair (she is the artist/expert, after all), she was meticulous in her effort to tailor my haircut to suit my needs. I made it clear that I am low-maintenance (read, "lazy) when it comes to my hair, so Diana took plenty of time and effort to make my hair as wash-and-wear as possible. In my experience, designing a haircut that is easy to care for is NOT easy on the part of the stylist. In the past, stylists have assumed that I wanted my hair styled in to those ubiquitous "beachy waves," but Diana actually asked me what I wanted, and I wanted my hair styled straight, which is more in line with my hair's natural texture. Noticing a theme here? My experience was customized to my preferences and needs. And while a fun personality is not necessarily the first descriptor I think of when picturing a great stylist, Diana was awesome at setting the mood (she even sang to me!), and that was the icing on the cake. Lastly, I appreciated Forecast's tongue-in-cheek but also very relevant and inclusive signs for its two all-gender private bathrooms, which declared, "Whichever". read more

hands down the best salon I've ever been to. I change my hair a lot, so I had been on a constant search for the right place until I found forecast. They've given me the exact color I wanted every time (even one that another salon said was impossible) without damaging my hair, and every haircut I've gotten there has been perfect - they gave me enough confidence to dive in and go for bangs. When I move out of state for college, I'm probably going to travel back here every few months just so I can keep using them. My usual stylist is Tristan, and I've never had a bad experience - he always makes sure that the color/style is personalized and takes the time to make sure that I'm happy with the result. worst haircut i've even got DONT GO HERE. brett cut my hair and I said i wasn't too sure what i wanted but that i had been growing it out. he said ok and started cutting my hair so i couldn't see the mirror and then turned me so i could and had cut off about 3 inches of hair. i let him finish because there just nothing i could have said at that point and after he asked if i liked it i shook my head and was clearly upset and he laughed and said you wanted to grow it out? i got up to pay and after him not washing my hair and using no product it cost 50 dollars. i will NEVER come back here. read more

This is my favorite salon of all time! My schedule is erratic, and, I never know when I'm going to be able to have time to freshen up my hair. The best thing about Forecast is that they do such a good job of curating only the best and brightest stylists so that every one is a rockstar. So, I can just call up and get the first available with whoever can take me and know I'm going to walk out feeling fabulous. The vibe is lively and friendly artful. So fresh and clean and right out of a magazine. The stylists there are seriously rock stars and know how to make you feel like one too.. The head, neck massage you get when they shampoo you is worth the trip alone! Oh, and they are Kevin Murphy affiliated so the products are top shelf. Also, I noticed they are very environmentally conscious and have a special rating for that. Recommend with all the stars in the universe. read more

Had my first visit to this salon on Saturday morning. I went in for a haircut with Tristan. First of all let me say that the salon itself is beautiful. Everything is very modern and chic, but its also very inviting and comfortable. When I first walked in, I was immediately greeted and was offered a complimentary drink, I asked for a glass of fruit infused water, which was delicious. I took a seat for about 5 minutes while Tristan got his station ready, that's when I was also offered a complimentary mimosa! Um, YES PLEASE! Tristan was fantastic, he made me feel very comfortable from the minute I sat in his chair. He asked tons of questions about what I wanted and kept the conversation going while he worked his magic on my hair. I hate that I don't the remember the name of the girl who washed my hair, she also was super sweet and did a wonderful job, the scalp massage was divine. I couldn't have been happier with my visit. Really, everyone is super friendly and they made me feel beautiful from beginning to end! This is definitely a salon I will be a regular at from now on. Worst salon experience I've ever had. Called & explained how I was scared to get bangs again after having previous bad experiences with salons. Walk in and show the lady pictures of what I want- she barely looked at them and took me immediately to wash my hair. Brought a ton of my hair forward when I told her I wanted thinner bangs. Cut them SO short when I told her I wanted long bangs. Told her I wanted the dead ends off my hair and she cut off 4-5 inches. Worst hair cut ever- will probably take me half a year or more to grow out. Maybe if the lady would have taken the time to look at the pictures I showed her or take the time to make sure she was clear with what I wanted it would've turned out differently. Best cut and color I've EVER had! I haven't felt this good about my hair since high school. I love that Abby took into account my skin tone, the current length, and health of my hair when we were speaking about cut and color. The salon itself is modern, clean, and doesn't have the noxious, overpowering chemical smell that many salons give off. I also love that they offer you gorgeous lightweight robes to wear, and an array of beverages (but they have delicious infused water if you're like me and just can't commit to a cocktail at 10am). The entire staff is knowledgable and kind in helping you make appointments and throughout your visit at the wash station, and under the heat lamp. Abby was involved in every part of the process, and my color couldn't have turned out better. Although I try and get my hair cut regularly, I haven't been in a salon that I truly wanted to revisit in a long time and Forecast will be our new hair home in Birmingham.
