Amanda is amazing! Not only did she give me the exact red I wanted, but she also did my daughters hair in a beautiful silver. She explained everything that she was doing in detail. She doesn't try to push expensive products on you and gives you advice on how to keep your hair color vibrant. She also talks to you while you there and gets to know you, which to me is a plus if your there for hours. I didn't realize how bad my hair actually was until she really got in there and showed me. I'm so glad I found Amanda!!! I've honestly never been this happy with my hair. I have found my forever stylist, that's for sure. I also adore her salon suite. It's just you and her and you can talk about whatever you want to and no one else will hear you. It's so relaxing because there isn't ten blow dryers going at one time, the phone ringing and everyone talking at once like there is in a large salon. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a hair salon. I've never had so much damage done to my hair in my life! I've been to a couple of other salons that have done a MUCH BETTER job than Amanda. I've also used boxed dyes for a long time, and I've never had them damage my hair the way it was when I came to Amanda. Now I haven't used box dye in years, so I know all the damage isn't from that at all. My hair has been completely fried, and there is so much breakage. My beautiful thick hair has become so thinned out to the point where I sit in-front of my mirror and just cry my heart out. I've become so insecure in the way I look because of my hair, and it's so upsetting. I can't believe I spent so much money at a salon where you'd think the hair professional would know what they're doing. After coloring my hair and then washing it out a couple of times, she would NEVER use any heat protectant when blow drying it. I'm pretty positive that is what caused my hair to fry and break. I'm so upset. I should've done more research before coming here. It seems like she only knows how to do a select few kind of colors, and isn't as experienced as she thinks she is. Please, if you love your hair and want the best, DO NOT come here. read more

Amanda is a phenomenal color artist and hair stylist! My hair was naturally black, and she took the time to make sure my platinum blonde was done correctly...8+ hours! Despite all of the bleaching, she made sure my hair wasn't terribly damaged. She took amazing care of my hair's condition. I got to know her throughout the whole process too! To summarize it: personally after my last experience with her,I don't think she is worth paying 250$ or the 1.5 hour drive from Huntsville. She is good with color/ but is bad managing her and clients time. She spent so much time on color, both times, that there was only time to cut bangs. Also I think overlapping clients and still charging 250$ for medium length hair is ridiculous. So if you want to spent 200+$ go See a pro who has it all figured out and enough experience to manage ALL of these things. I went to see Amanda 3x. First time was for a consultation where we talked about what color/ cut I had envisioned for my wedding, 2 time was to get my hair done for the wedding which looked really beautiful, unfortunately she spent so much time on the color that there wasn't really much time left to cut much hair - she gave me a little snip here, snip there- but again the color for the wedding was beautiful. The 3 rd time I went to see her was an absolutely bad experience and the reason I don't go see her no more. First of all I drive all the way from Huntsville area (but because of the good yelp reviews thought it was worth it) which is usually a 1.5 hour drive to get there. The last time I came see her I was 3 weeks before being due and because I didn't know when I will be able to come see her again I wanted something like an balayage look to be set for a little while. When I got there she started on my color but then another client showed up- that Amanda had overlapped booking. By then she just got done coloring both sides/ she didn't even get to do the back. So she washed out the color - it didn't even have time to sit long, and had me sit there while taking care of the other client (meantime I went to get my eyebrows waxed next door). Poor, poor planning. God I should have walked out. So when she was done with the other client she went back to do my hair.. again lol I also booked time to get my hair cut when making the appointment. Guess what, after sitting there for 3 hours of my life, her son that she also had with her that day was starting to get fuzzy- so she said she couldn't cut my hair but at least she gave my bangs a trim. She didn't charge me for blowing out my hair but The price was still around the 230-240$ mark lol I actually still even gave her a little tip. I guess in the most confused situations I'm still trying to be polite. But honestly I won't go back. Also The color was not what I wanted- she put in lowlights which I thought looked ugly- I have enough dark root/ no need for lowlights in my opinion - I'm sure I could have let her know and maybe she would have offered to fix it.. idk.. but do you think I would have taken my time to drive 1.5 hours to Birmingham again and 1.5 hours back home after that experience ?!? Nope. So i thank Amanda for that experience because I now actually do my hair myself (balayage is so easy/ sweep on lightner and tone it) with the help of my husband and some tools and at least I can say it's how I wanted it. read more
