After struggling with several stylists at many high end salons in town, I literally drive 30 minutes out of my way just to get my haircut with her because in comparatively dealing with alternatives it's just worth it. Steel 110 is a charming, but small single chair salon at Salon Studios out by the Galleria owned by Brittney. When you come in you are offered a beverage -- including wine or beer! -- and there's a television where you can watch sports, episodes of some show off Netflix, the News, or whatever. Because of its size it gives a feeling that she is there for you and only you, unlike larger salons where stylists disappear, get distracted with coworkers, whatever. Brittney is an expert in her field: she is knowledgeable of current trends in men's hair styles, as well as execution of classic stylings. She can take a picture you bring to her and make it work. But most importantly: she's going to steer you in the direction. She understands that each individual has different types of hair, facial structure, and other characteristics that makes a hair style that may look good on others look terrible on you. Brittney will work with what you desire to make it look best on you as an individual rather than just replicating the same hairstyle for every client, and can even offer suggestions as to what she thinks would look great on you. Some men might be turned off by the price, but I think $30 ($25 for first time) is TOTALLY reasonable given the service you're provided. After moving back from California where I routinely went to a much more expensive salon, I struggled to find someone who could meet the same standards.
