We absolutely love our 8 year old Pug Champ now named Jaxsyn Bleu. He came paper trained!

We just brought home our new baby, Cosmo, a few days ago. Ford's lil Paws was nothing short of outstanding! From the very beginning, they were extremely responsive, which, if you've been searching for a new pup, you know is important and rare. They answered all of our questions, sent updates and pictures as Cosmo was aging to perfection, and made the transaction so easy. On the day we came to pick up our new baby, we were provided with detailed directions to their home, and instructions on what we should do upon arrival, paying close attention to safety precautions due to COVID-19. Once we arrived and met our new guy, Debbie's years of experience with dog breeding was apparent. She had all of our paperwork, lists of medications, supplies for our trip home, and went over everything with us to be sure we had no questions. Two days after bringing Cosmo home, he went to the veterinarian and they gave him a great bill of health, and also commended Ford's lil Paws for their thoroughness. For those that don't want to read this whole review, in summary, Ford's Lil Paws tried to illegally sell an under-aged puppy to us for Christmas. We figured this out and didn't buy from them. Unfortunately, other people probably did buy the under-aged puppies. It is illegal and immoral to sell premature puppies and is a distinct sign of a "Puppy Mill". Full story is below. We were in the market for a Boston Terrier puppy as a Christmas present for our boys. We found Ford's Lil Paws via their Facebook page. I contacted them and traded quite a few texts with the owner. She said initially that they didn't have any newborn puppies at that time, but that there was a possibility of one of their breeding dogs having a litter that might be available by Christmas and that she'd let me know. I got a text from them on 11/13/18 saying that they were having a new litter that day. We were looking for a black and white male puppy. She said that one had been born, and that it would be available by Christmas Eve. We agreed that we would pay for the dog when it reached 4 weeks old, just in case something happened. I'll admit up front that we were ignorant to any state laws or best practices involving puppies. We took Ford's Lil Paws at face value, thought we had found the puppy for us, and planned on pick the puppy up on Christmas Eve. Here's where thing went bad. A friend of mine is a veterinarian. I had mentioned to him in passing that we found a puppy for the boys and that we would pick it up on 12/24/18. We got to talking about how lucky we were to have found someone having puppies that would be ready by Christmas. He said "Yeah, the chance of having them be 8 weeks or older by Christmas Eve would have been very slim." Well that got me thinking. I started counting the weeks from the date of birth, which was 11/13/18. By our scheduled pickup date, the puppies would have been 5 weeks and 6 days old. My vet buddy was livid and started telling me how it's illegal and immoral to sell puppies this young, and that they are apparently a puppy mill. He said no reputable breeder would sell puppies that young. I immediately text Ford's Lil Paws and asked about the age of the puppy by our pick-up date. Up to this point, I had gotten near immediate responses from them. I didn't get a response for over 2 days, and when I did, all they said is "We have these much older female puppies from a previous litter. Here are pics. Let us know if you want one as lots of people are interested." They didn't respond at all in reference to illegally selling under-aged puppies. Instead just gave us the option to buy some different puppies. We broke off contact immediately and didn't purchase the puppy. Unfortunately, the Facebook post advertising Christmas Puppies stayed up. We have every reason to believe that Ford's Lil Paws went ahead and sold the under-aged puppies to people on Facebook as Christmas Presents. And if they did it once, they are probably doing it on a consistent basis. Read the following article in reference the negative effect of removing a puppy from its mother prematurely. We bought our Boston Terrier in March of 2018 and she is the best puppy ever! Debbie is a excellent breeder and makes sure your puppy is checked out and healthy ! We went to see her a few weeks before she could come home and Debbie had us in protective hospital gear so you would bring anything that could catch. We had an amazing experience. My vet was very impressed with how healthy our pug is. We got to meet the parents of our fur baby and they appeared to be very healthy also. I like that they took precautions to protect the animals. We did have to put on booties, hospital gown and wash our hands before we could even handle the pups. This breeder is the best that I can remember dealing with. Right before she delivered the pug puppy to me (in another state), she had her checked by a professional veterinarian, and sent me the results along with all of her shot records. When she arrived with the pup, she went over everything about her (habits, food she eats, treats and toys that she likes, personality etc.) She recommended that I take her to my vet, and have her rechecked (because of the flight). As I thought, our pup was as healthy as could be. I strongly recommend this breeder, and wish that there were more just like her out there. read more
