It's a burger chain...but a good burger chain My parents had been to another Ford's and loved it so I took us all here before shopping at the mall. The decor *is* awesomely fun and most of us ordered burgers which were reasonably good. We had a Distinguished Gentleman, Black N Blue, High Octane, California Roadster, and an American Roadster. I knew the drill at a chain so ordered my Black N Blue rare and suggested the rest of the family do the same. The half pounders came back medium. But the smaller Roadsters were truly hammered. The fries were great and the buffalo chicken sandwich odd but OK. But the tater tots were *way* undercooked - mushy instead of crisp. As for drinks, again it's a chain so I ordered one of their better draft beers - a double IPA. They were out of their one good cider so my wife foolishly ordered a mixed drink asking the waitress for the least sweet drink they had. It was of course essentially dessert. All in all a fine meal and we had a good time. If we visit again we'll stick to beer (and hopefully cider) and half pound burgers...ideally getting them down to at least medium rare. read more

Fun theme restaurant when visiting Florida's SW Gulf Coast. We have stopped at the Ford's Garage site which is at Miromar Outlets. On our most recent visit, we were expecting a wait as it was a very busy shopping day -- hard to find a spot to park. However, we were seated in a booth without a wait. (Short wait for an outside table.) Our server gave us plenty of time to peruse the large menu and also brought DH a sample of a porter that he was curious about. Happy Hour runs from 11 AM to 7 PM with good discounts. My house wine was only $4 a glass and for that price my sauvignon blanc was more than decent. DH went with a basic burger ("hold the cheese") and fries to go with his porter. My salad featured blueberries, dried cranberries, pecans, and gorgonzola cheese -- all on a hefty amount of spring green mix. Raspberry vinagarette was a perfect dressing. The salad was a bit on the sweet side and I should have stopped there. But decided to splurge on dessert: cream puff with vanilla ice cream and milk chocolate sauce -- with whipped cream and a cherry. Glad DH had an extra spoon! The dessert was much larger than the server had described it. Prices are reasonable for the area. Service friendly. Worth a try if you are in the area. read more

Huge restaurant - lots of seating.. but there was still a wait at one point. Looked like a popular place for the outlet mall shoppers to eat. Big menu - lots of options. Fish and chips was okay.. way too much parsley on top, really overtook the flavor the fish. No cocktail sauce... Truffle fries were REALLY good. Came here while visiting friends in Estero. It is very similar to the Wellington location, carrying out the gas station theme. Burgers are varied and are the primary food item on the menu. Beer selection was good, as were the wine options. Recommend if you want a good burger! read more

We've been coming for the last 9 years and never had a negative experience but tonight was bad news and it wasn't even crowded. First my gin and tonic tasted like water and my french onion soup was warm even the second time it was prepared. Fried pickles were yummy as were the wings which were also more warm than hot. I had a craving for a burger so we stopped here for lunch. This place is always packed in the in season so its taken us two years to try it. We got there right when it opened and were seated right away. The decor is very touristy with ford memorabilia. I ordered the estate burger with tomato jam and gouda cheese. Great burgers in an SW FL Outlet Mall. That's the deal. This one of those Popular Cute Wacky Themed Chains, but they deliver the goods so I'm fine. Cute Wacky Theme is neo-garage mechanic, so the waitstaff is all in adorable mechanic-wear, napkins are grease rags...... Lots of craft beer choices, cocktails, decent but not astounding wine list (yeah, Kath, I didn't come in here expecting a sommelier). They were very very busy but waitstaff were all working hard and cheerfully, signalling a well-run establishment. Had one of the signature burgers ("Distinguished Gentleman"), which was awesome, side salad also fresh and good. Why not a 5? Cute Wacky Themed Chains don't get 5s, and while we carefully ordered medium rare, we got medium well. Nevertheless, delicious. read more

Fords garage is an interesting place. It's decorated with actual model A fords. All of the decor is based around early fords. Door handles are gas pump nozzles. They specialize in burgers and have many varieties. They have an extensive bar menu with lots of beers and cocktails. Try it. Prices are right and service is good. read more

We went there for the first time yesterday. We were were seated immediately. We had Elaine as our server.She was very nice and made suggestions on what to order which I appreciated . We had the wings as an appetizer with barbecue sauce and they were very good. I had the chicken with goat cheese and it was good but it's definitely better at Carrabas. The chicken was a little dry but the goat cheese topping and green bean side were very good. Ellaine forgot to bring silverware so we grabbed it off another table, no big deal. I bring this up because she came over and apologized for forgetting the silverware. Most servers would have blown this off, but she owned it and I really appreciated that. She was very attentive even though she had numerous tables. The manager came by and checked on us as well. I am guessing this is a Florida chain because I have never seen this chain out west where I am from. Decor was cool was vintage automotive. Today is 4th of July my boyfriend and I decided to go on a nice walk and stop in to have a drink, of course we were greeted right away and as we sat at the bar no longer then 30 second manager Andrew came up and served us right away and his partner Sam walk up shortly after to check on us with such a beautiful smile on her face. What a pleasant experience! We stopped in for an early dinner and drinks. We opted to sit at the bar where we were promptly greeted by our bartender Steve. He asked what we wanted to drink and my husband ordered his go-to beer. I'm a sour beer lover and Steve told me he had a new sour beer - Strawberry Shortcake Sour by American Icon Brewery in Ft. Lauderdale. It was delicious! Not too sweet and not too sour - a tasty beer. Our food was good and the service fantastic. Ford's is reliably consistent. Burgers are tasty and cooked correctly to order. The side house salad is a nice size, tastes good, and has garbanzos, field greens, tomatoes, and a nice choice of dressings. I never order a bun because I can't eat that much. The large burger fills me up. Sometimes the order of fries is really small, and sometimes it's a nicely sized serving. The fries are always good. We enjoy eating here and return often. read more

I stopped by on the way to drop off my daughter's cat at her place in Tampa. I mention this because I was a little nervous about being the weird lady with the cat carrier, but our server, who said she had 4 cats herself, couldn't have been nicer about it and even brought us some ahi! She was attentive but not TOO attentive. We sat outside (obviously) which had cute decor, and the food was really good. My daughter had ribs, and I had the Cobb salad. All great. A really cool and interesting place, nearby the Ford and Edison Estates. There's plenty of cool car stuff all over. I really like that the burger menus have pictures. Burgers are their specialty. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and was really impressed with the flavor. The pretzel bun was a little over cooked, but it was still really good. The fries were really crisp and crunchy, served hot. They have a lot of beer on draft, but I didn't try any as I was driving on a road trip. I would like to come back and try though. The only issue was that the AC was broken and it was hot. Not a huge deal but they said it's been three weeks and still no fix. After week one they should have got fans or some portable units or something. read more

Recently some family and I decided to pop into ford's garage for some lunch. As a former employee, I know ford's prides itself on its food quality, customer service, and cleanliness. We arrived, had about a 30 minutes wait, and received notice that our table was ready. We were located right by the front door of the restaurant. It started to rain, and naturally people decided to gather and wait inside to avoid the rain... but there was no barrier between our table and the other guests. So due to this lack of barrier, people hovered above us, bumped into our table, and sneezed & coughed right above us. When we brought it to the attention of the acting manager, Ricky, we were met with disinterest and no help. My family then had to ask the waiting guests ourselves to please back away from us as we were dining and no Guest should have anyone's bottoms in the vicinity of their food. Our waitress, who I will leave nameless, couldn't really reach us as the crowd of people hid us, so we rarely saw her. We ordered our alcoholic beverages when she first greeted us, another one of us ordered a regular soda. We did not receive ANY of those drinks for over 20 minutes, they came AFTER our food was served. She had told us the bar was backed up, but the table beside us (that was sat about 15 minutes after we were) were served their drinks WELL before us, and they were also from the bar. We had ordered an appetizer, when the appetizer came out it was cold. By this point we still had not received our drinks, and we did not receive any plates or silverware to enjoy our appetizer as a family. Our waitress was stood by the bathrooms when one of us had to approach her to ask, once again, for our drinks and dishes. Our waitress returned, still with the problem that the bar was backed up. To which one of us had questioned why the soda had not been brought to the table, being that it is not an alcoholic beverage and there was no wait on it. Soon, a separate waitress along with the manager had brought out our food. Once again, no drinks anywhere in sight. We had to ask them for our drinks, and brought to their attention that the (now two) tables beside us, both sat after us... each had their alcoholic beverages that came from the bar. The manager, Ricky, rolled his eyes and walked away. Leaving a waitress, that was not our waitress, to try and solve our problem. Within three minutes, that waitress did deliver our drinks. To which we expressed our gratitude. We began to eat our food, when one of us noticed that their Ford's Signature was not done the way they asked for it to be. We brought it to the attention of our waitress, and asked if we could please send it back and have it be done the way it was ordered. The Manager, Ricky, Stopped our waitress and sent our food back to us. Never in my 7+ years or food service work, or ANY of my own personal dining experiences.. have I EVER seen a manager deny INCORRECT food from being brought back to the kitchen after it was poorly made. Instead, the manager brought a plate over of the items missing from the burger, and left it to us to fix it ourselves. I am someone who has worked in the food industry for many years. When I go out to eat, i try to give every employee the benefit of the doubt. I do everything in my power to help, be as kind and considerate, and as patient as I possibly can. This dining experience was one of the most unacceptable dining experiences I have ever had in my entire life. The manager, Ricky, seemed flustered, rude, and disinterested in his work. As someone who, once again, worked for Ford's Garage, I know firsthand that this is NOT the way this situation should have been handled, and NOT the way guests should be treated. It was completely against the mission statement, the 4 core values & 4 steps for excellence, and the 7 Guiding principals. We will never return to this Ford's Garage location again. read more

Second time at Fords with different waitress, different year, different location, makes all the difference. Went to the Miromar locale instead of downtown (been downtown twice) and it's much better at Miromar, from my experience. Just a note to restaurant management: Your well trained and or experienced servers with a good attitude (like Shelby today) makes a huge difference in customer feedback on the experience. And then there's the food. I have had burgers each time here and although I've heard their burgers are great, they are good and maybe it's me, I don't get excited about burgers, and in my opinion, burgers can only be so good. That noted it was served promptly cooked well, I was checked on to see if everything was good and taken care of well. Fords garage is a nice place for casual food. Wait til you see the onion rings. I didn't have them but they are served uniquely and the other people that did have them ate them all so they must be good. No pictures, phone was dead, but look it up online or in other reviews. read more
