We have been to multiple Ford's Garage, including one in Michigan and Florida. The food is consistent with other places but the service seems to be better at other locations. When we walked in, the hostess was not super friendly. Our waitress was friendly and made up for the hostess being just so so. The food was good and I would visit this location again with our friends who have never been. The fish and chips our friend ordered looked amazing. I may try that next time. read more

I always get persuaded to go here after we visit the museum and then suddenly I remember why people love it... they are staffed to perfection. The servers are so great but they also have such a great kitchen and service staff bussing and hosting. Great food in a cool atmosphere. I had the bison bacon burger and it was phenomenal. One of my favorite burgers I've had in a while. The onion ring tower is a neat thing to get just for the experience but the chipotle ketchup is very good! Great beer selection if that's your thing as well. read more

This place was amazing! Touristy? Probably? But even our friends who live in the area didn't mind going twice during our visit. Check out every corner of the place for a homage to everything cars -- to many to express! And the food -- the food was awesome! The onion rings were so crisp (served on an oil can funnel) and our burgers, juicy and well cooked. The servers (dressed in garage coveralls) gave us excellent service. We initially went for restaurant week, but actually ended up ordering off the regular menu. The restaurant week deals were $10 for burger and fries and you only save about a dollar or two. The theming of the restaurant is quite cool, make sure to check out all of the old cars outside and inside. I was expecting a wait on a Sunday for lunch but there wasn't any, which was nice. Our waitress kind of seemed like she didn't care about us, she did check in every so often and provide refills but that was it. We asked about the Ford discount because my boyfriend is a Ford employee, and it's 10% off, but only for the employee (ie, it only applied to his meal and not mine). Meanwhile, I didn't see that mentioned anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu which is a little bit sketchy. (I initially read about it here on Yelp) He got the brisket burger and fries, which is included with it, and I got the Distinguished Gentleman burger. Both of our meals were very good, and I paid $1.99 extra to upgrade to the truffle fries, which basically just had a dusting of cheese on them but were tasty. It's about $11-14 for a burger and that does include fries. Forgot to mention: I ordered my burger medium, and it was well-done (but still tasty). Also, I asked for no lettuce, and it came with lettuce anyways ... it was more of an arugula though, which is fine. Overall, I found it a bit pricey and would rather go to Brome down the street when in the area. It's definitely cool to go to at least once because of the theming--the tires as sinks were fun too, in the bathroom--but it's not a place I'll be rushing back to, even though the food was great. They have a happy hour too but it seems like the only discounts are on drinks. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm glad I did. The food was amazing! The Cali was cooked perfectly, it's one of the smaller burgers on the menu and I could barely finish it. What an amazing place this is!! Perfect spot to grab a bite after the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield village! As all the spots in there wrap up at 5 pm, and food court only works till 3 pm , and the only place that is open till 5 is the ice cream shop with amazing custard , we had to find something nearby and were super excited to see that there is a Ford Garage Restaurant only a few minutes away! Surprisingly it wasn't too busy on a Sunday evening. Wait for the table is around 40 minutes. Server at the bar was super chill and nice. We got our nachos in less than 10 minutes and it was a very flavorful barbecue chicken, nachos chips never got saggy, guacamole was small but a very good and tasty addition! And then our hamburgers arrived! Very delicious and made to perfection! Probably some of the best quality food in the whole Detroit area! The sunny side up egg on the "A" Model was an amazing addition!! Black and blue cheese burger was excellent as well!! 95.5's radio show's favorite as described! Ambience is great and the model T was right above the bar! And going to the bathroom has never been more exciting- the bathroom is decorated amazingly well with gas station parts for handles and tires for a sink! Place is an absolute must visit! This was such a fun place to eat. Our waiter was super helpful and funny. He's was able to completely explain the menu and to make recommendations for all of us. The burger that I had was cooked exactly the way that I requested it. I'm so glad that I took his advice and had one of the limited time burgers. He stated that the menu burgers will always be there but the limited time ones are the ones that you should try. The truffle fries were so worth the $1.95 upcharge that I would never even have the regular fries because they would not be worth it. There weren't any gluten free baked type desserts but the floats made up for it. I had a Boston cooler with Vernors. It was so delicious. I'm not sure I would have a Boston cooler without the ginger ale being Vernors but that is more because I love Vernors. The ice cream was rich and cream and you could taste the vanilla. read more

Tonight we are trying the Ford's Garage in Dearborn, MI. Lots of Model T's displayed and the walls remind you of giant pallets. Homage is paid to the man who created the Model T, Henry Ford. The staff were dressed like mechanics. We started the meal off with Fried Pickles. The sauces were a Southwester Ranch and Cucumber Wasabi. I was looking on Yelp for somewhere to have a late lunch since we had a painting class later that day in Downtown Dearborn. After some Yelp searching, I stumbled onto Ford's Garage, which was just what I wanted. We strolled in at around 1:30pm and were seated right away in a booth table. The table easily could've sat 4-5, but we had it all to ourselves! Our waitress was very nice and gracious when we needed a couple more minutes to decide on what we wanted - no rush at all! We both ended up with the same burger order - the Estate burger with smoked gouda, red onion marmalade, fried onion straws, and white truffle bacon aioli. The burger was really good and they really know how to cook it to your desired temperature. I swapped my fries out for a side of mac and cheese, which was really good as well. Interesting experience. Not a typical visit for me. I am definitely a burger guy. But Ford's Garage offers Impossible Burger versions of all their burgers. I figured this would be a great opportunity to try it. What did I get? I forget what it was exactly called but I leave you believe it was called The All-American. It was your typical cheeseburger with American cheese. What I did differently: I ordered the Impossible Burger version. I added bacon and I traded the brioche bun for a pretzel bun. Some might think adding bacon defeats the purpose. It doesn't. I wanted to compare this to exactly what I would typically get for a fair comparison. It was different. Not quite what I was expecting. I've seen things about the Impossible Burger on TV. It's supposed to really replicate red meat and bleed, if you will. You could get it cooked at different levels. This wasn't quite the case. The burger itself was good but let me explain what the patty itself was like. It had sort of a hard crunchy crust. It was quite salty on the outside and you could see that there was quite a lot of salt. Imagine ordering a burger somewhere and you know it is a frozen burger cooked well done. That's the best way I could describe this. So it wasn't like I was eating an amazing Fresh Burger but I was eating a halfway decent Frozen Burger. It wasn't bad, and I could see the appeal. For the side I got the coleslaw. Uneventful but still good. More of a sweet creamy slaw. Now it's the Ambiance of this place that's really what makes it pretty cool. All the staff are in Ford garage shirts. Everything has a garage or gas station touch to it. As a bonus, there's a couple of cool old Ford cars out front. It's a pretty cool place to visit. Would I go back? I definitely plan on going back and getting something I would normally get. I experimented for the first time, and it was pretty cool.
