First it should be said that it was a real pleasure to interact with everyone there. From father to son to various other folks that help there. Anyway - about yesterday - we got two large pans of the fried fish and a large pan of the mixed vegetables. I was the organizer for the luncheon and so didn't get to eat. The fish as usual was just fantastic (their fried fish is "A--mazing" as my friend put it). But the mixed veggies didn't get eaten (the luncheon was Jamaican themed and we had two other Jamaican vegetables there as well). So I brought the veggies home with me. Because I didn't eat all day I was pretty famished when I get home. I don't know if it's the Danish or Italian in me or just maybe because my father was this way - but when I'm hungry I just eat stuff without warming it (all kinds of stuff). So I dipped a fork into the, now cold, veggies and O M G - the veggies were just amazing. So I heaped a plate full of cold veggies and scarfed it down. It was so good that I had to call LaNeves to let them know. I also scarfed down about 4 pieces of fried fish (cold also). It was so good. You can just imagine how delicious it is when all fresh and warm, especially if it that good cold. So I'm going on about the veggies - but the fried fish is even better - you just have to try it. Sooooooooo good. I recommend this place for your events (both dining in and catering). The food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. Oh, and by-the-way, all the food was ready on schedule. Dish understood our "vision" of the night from the start - we wanted a relaxed and fun evening, with all of our favorite people and things. They made our favorite foods as the mains (tacos and pasta), with delicious and beautiful hors d'oeuvres, and sooo many incredible sides (the adorable cups of Caesar salad were a huge hit!). We also had a few gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free guests, and Dish had no problem either adapting or adding options to the dishes to ensure that there would be enough to eat for all the dietary preferences we threw at them! My husband and I were truly free to enjoy ourselves and be with our friends without a single thought to logistics, and there are no words for how much that meant to us. Beyond the delicious food, the entire experience working with Dish was full of incredible surprises that show just how thoughtful, prepared, and seriously GREAT AT THIS they are. From the moment we walked into the tasting (January 2024) and they had set up the Lobster and Rose cart as an extra surprise, until the very end of the event when they presented us with a tote bag full of thoughtfully and carefully packed containers with some of almost every single dish. They knew, even before we did, that leftovers are one of the best ways to relive the magic! Julianna was truly a godsend every step of the way - menu choices; floor planning; advice on everything - rentals, furniture, DJ; brainstorming ways to make our poutine dreams come true; never forgetting a single detail mentioned in any interaction; and so, so much more.
