We drive nearly an hour to get here and it's absolutely worth it!…read more The coffee service is a little slow, but worth it. Service is good and food is better! I'm not big on sweet so I did half sweet in my toasted coconut honey latte. It was perfect and a good change up from plan. We started with the pecan praline French toast, which was like a pecan spin wheel on steroids! Drooling thinking about it. I got the huevos rancheros. I don't even like chorizo but theirs is awesome and this portion feeds you twice. Hubby got the breakfast quesadilla, which was massive too. So many toppings and great quality. The Irish Coffee was gross, so I don't recommend that. Service was good. The servers also prepare the coffees so that always seems to take a while, but worth the wait. If you find yourself in Hillsboro or want a cute little day trip - you HAVE to check out Sassafras!

Now a days the…read morestaff are more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. they will let you stand there, nobody else in line inside or in the drive-thru, and finish gossiping about their personal lives or drama before even greeting you. It's not that service was rude, but she seemed more preoccupied with checking her phone and I felt like I was disturbing her when I asked what their products were (nothing was labeled). We decided on a cream horn, strawberry poptart, and a cream filled donut. The poptart tasted really fake and dry. The cream in the cream horn had a balanced flavor but the pastry was dry. The "cream filled" donut had next to no cream inside and did not taste fresh. The icings on top of the donuts were cracked and dry (we could literally peel it off). We didn't finish anything that we ordered and would not recommend this place based on our experience.

While I like this shop and it appeared very clean with friendly staff here is my concern.... The…read moredonut frosting was stale and dry. The filling inside "filled" donuts was almost non existent. The pop tart pastries were neat but once again the filling was underwhelming. The filling tasted packaged and fake. Nothing tasted fresh despite getting there early.

The "order ahead" is never available for this store. Being inside a grocery store its a location…read moreyou must walk in. They always turn off the option to oder ahead and pickup at the counter. So you are forced to go inside, order and wait for your drink. 3 times now while waiting for a drink, the employees curse and complain about working there. Its so pitiful and miserable to listen to the whining and crying. They actually slow down and stop to whine while making your drink. And the best part is, this place is not even that busy. Staff needs replacing immediately. Its a toxic atmosphere for adult customers and god forbid any kids hear the language they speak.

In a year of prices skyrocketing, this place did not move much on pricing. I always throw the server extra money because I see a lot of tables (coffee drinkers) leaving a coin tip. Dining out can be challenging for us since our son is on the spectrum, but the ambiance here was calm and not overstimulating, which helped him stay relaxed the entire time.
