We experienced a dramatic sugar ant infestation in our rural home partly due to multiple humming bird feeders which attracted the ants from every corner of our 20 acres. Called Foothill Sierra Pest Control. Experienced, friendly and energetic technician gave our home best shot with least toxic application. There were some survivors or re-infestation from outside treated area. He came back for free. Worked twice as hard as first time and demonstrated severe prejudice in his attack. This company honors its 30 day guarantee for one time purchases. Many pest controllers won't offer a one time application or offer a guarantee if they do. Foothill Sierra does our pest and weed control. We have a home 2 acres and they do a great job with the weeds and pest control.

I highly suggest that you reconsider utilizing Foothill-Sierra Pest Control for any of your pest inspections. They committed fraud during our escrow (selling our home) and were very dishonest and unprofessional. They fabricated a report stating we had termites, and tried to charge us for the treatment without any proof of termites, submitted a report to the state claiming we did have termites, and reached out to our buyers' realtor with false claims regarding the treatment process. They were later disproved by another company that there were in fact, no termites on the property(which we knew already). They are not to be trusted with inspections, and I highly suggest utilizing another service. The inspector was Garret B. (Gary) and the manager was Josh E. They claimed that we (homeowners) REMOVED THE TERMITES BY HAND between the time of the inspection and the scheduled treatment. They also insisted they "don't pay commission" to inspectors and that they "would never make a false report" completely unprovoked. Beware. read more

3 technicians, came and inspected my situation w a Roach Infestation. First initial response was done via email, then several days later I was finally able to speak to a live person to set up a date. They were 2 hours late. They checked out everything gave me a quote, explained where they needed to spray etc. I called to confirm that I wanted them to do the job, the guy that took the message acted like I was talking to a robot. They refused to come out and respray the property they missed and raised the price on the billing 40% more than i was quoted. They were billing me for pest control without even showing up. Customer service is a main factor. First we ask for someone to come to give us an estimate , to spay weeds around the house. No problem, someone came out and gave us a price. Now the problem comes into play, scheduling was done for last Monday. Had gate open for person to complete the work, no show. Was informed by the office,after calling,Tech had take on a bigger job, was not going to come out to spray weeds. No way was anyone going to come out the next day, had to be scheduled for the service in two weeks. I received a card in the mail offering an estimate for pest control services several weeks ago. I called the 800 number and waited for a call-back. No call after three days. I then called the Murphy's Office and scheduled an appointment for last Friday at 3:00 PM at my cabin. No one showed up for the appointment and no telephone call cancelling or re-scheduling. Very courteous, professional, and easy to communicate with, and that includes BOTH the office staff and onsite technician. The tech even called me after the wasp treatment to explain what type we had, so we understood what to watch for. About 30 days after the wasp abatement we found a few more, so they treated the house again free of charge. How they compare to the rest, I have no idea, as they are thee only company I have used for pest control. I called to arrange for them to come out for a problem I am having. The person on the other end of the phone insisted I dd not want service, I wanted a quote for business. I tried to explain I wasn't interest in a quote, I anted the problem solved. She would not let it go, even telling me, flat out, the customer is not always right. The more I said I wanted the problem solved, the ruder she became. I neither wanted nor needed a quote. They come to Jackson, where we live, for weed abatement only. When I consulted them about a terrible vole infestation several years ago, they did come over, but told me that they really don't treat the voles as they are too prolific and just come back. (The voles later left on their own with the gophers and the moles when I acquired a border terrier.) We generally have them spray our weeds and poison oak when it first starts raining. Have to admit, I didn't appreciate the attitude of the young man they sent out last year, and didn't do it, but regretted the weed problem that seemed worse than usual this year and with the awful fires we're having in the region feel we don't really have a whole lot of choice right now. read more

I'm with Patricia B. Can't give negative stars to these idiots. Same as her story - promises and then can't deliver. Lucky we are not out any money or bound up in any contract. We're a Disabled American Veteran nonprofit residential service center that has been trying for five years to get rid of roaches we didn't know we inherited with the property. Sierra-Foothill came out at Christmastime and started a stalemate that said ``The deep-cleaning people (from the dead bug residue of the previous extermination attempts) need to come and do their job before we the exterminators can come and do our job.'' Conversely any kind of deep-cleaning people claimed ``worker health and safety hazards'' if the exterminators didn't come first before the deep cleaning people came creating a stalemate. Since ServiceMaster is one of the only companies that owns both pest control companies as well as deep-cleaning companies - after a number of months of going around THEIR similar stalemates - we got the TV Investigative News reporters and the Department of Veterans Affairs Veteran Rights Office involved who then forced ServiceMaster to perform both jobs - and for FREE no less. But after the first go around - they refused to cooperate any further in permanently solving our bug problem. That lawsuit is ongoing. Afterward, they referred to this Foothill-Sierra company and a number of other locally-owned non-franchisees who had started the stalemate in the first place between cleaning people and bug people. The other non-franchisees just never returned several calls to them - which we are also reporting to the State of California who declared our facility a Patient Health and Safety Hazard to begin with. The tech came out a month ago to do another evaluation - and said that there was no cause for a stalemate anymore and it was fit enough for them to start their treatment. The tech said it would take about two hours and told us he would be back after the weekend, quoting us $120 a quarter or $40 a month - less than half of all the franchisees' fees. A month later and we called back once a week for three weeks wondering where the tech is at - got no response and finally called the company owner. After we complained about nobody showing up, he declined to have any further dealings with us - referring right back to the local franchisees of all the national companies who refuse to do anything but recite out of their book instead of thinking outside the box like what needs to happen. So we are writing this negative review because businesses are not allowed by State and Federal Law to pick and choose their customers, or to claim the work done is not worth the money they receive for it. These people need to understand that on the eve of the 2020s, Protected Classes of Citizens do not simply curl up and roll away like they used to - and they need to upgrade their business model to maintain compliance. I guarantee you - after this blows up all over Northern California the public relations mess they are going to have will cost then ten times the money to clean up from than if they did as they were told. There's discrimination on the basis of disability, there's weight discrimination, there's age discrimination, there's Veteran discrimination there's location discrimination, there's LGBT discrimination- and that's just getting started. All of those and more besides have authorities to whom they can be reported. We are also using this opportunity to report FSPC to the State as well to prove all the either stalemates we keep having to go through over and over and over between 1. exterminators and cleaning companies - or 2.locally-owned non-franchisees and their franchisee-counterparts as proof that we tried numerous times to deal with the problem and only got run around in stalemates - and that the State needs to step in and solve the problem themselves with their own resources. Maybe next time FSPC will learn to be a lille more cooperative with Federally Protected Classes of Citizens unless they want to have to close up like that baker in Colorado or that florist in Texas - both of whose cases went all the way to the Supreme Court - and both of which (and plenty others with the same discriminatory business model) are now not only personae non gratae in the business world - they are also social pariahs as well. But I have faith. They'll get theirs before too long and have to comply with modern 21st century business practices by course (voluntarily) or by force (involuntarily). So they might as well start now. read more

Watch out for this company. The workmanship was very good but the job was way underbid and the customer service was terrible. The initial bid was $8,700 and after finding more dry rot, I was charged a total of $12,000 for repairs in the end. When I asked the company to please paint a small patch of chimney siding that my son and I couldn't get to because it was up on the roof, the company spokesperson called me back and left me a message to tell me they wouldn't paint because it was "too big a job". In the same message she told me that I needed to make arrangements to pay the bill because I owed them a lot of money. I received this message one business day after receiving the bill. I sent the payment off today but will now have to find a painter to finish the job by painting approximately 8 square feet of siding. read more

I called them to schedule pest inspection, lady said that they can do on Thursday, August 20th but when I called the day before inspection they said that my appointment scheduled for the 27th, which is a week later, ok, I decided to wait one more week, the day before the 27th somebody called me and said that the inspector has scheduled surgery and can not do that, need to reschedule for one more week. Have used F-SPC, Inc. for the past four years at my Pine Mountain Lake house. They do a thorough job spraying, both for weed and pest control. Guarantee that weeds will not come up, and if such growth occurs, they return - free of charge. Also, the gentleman who sprays is always careful around bird feeders, or he just moves them, and is always more than willing to comply with my request to spray the inside and outside of my little storage shed. We called for an in-between service because my wife found some flies and other insects coming out of the concrete walk-way. As always, Ryles went above and beyond and he found a baby rattlesnake next to the house. He stayed and disposed of it for us. I have used the services of Foothill-Sierra Pest Control for two years to prevent bark beetle infestation. Next door my neighbors lost 13 trees that they had to pay thousands of dollars to eliminate. Across the street from us, our neighbors lost 11 trees, again paying thousands. We paid $15.00 per tree, and haven't lost any. We also water our trees with rain water we captured over the winter.
