Nice little park with lots of amenities such as volleyball, basketball, multiple baseball diamonds and roller hocky rinks, a walking path and playgrounds for kids. Nice place to come and walk a dog or walk on your lunch break from work. Park is kept pretty clean and is located over parts of whiting ranch trails. Always seem to be painting, re-seeding or working on fields which is the only drawback as many times one area or another is fenced off. All in all a great little park for kids and some light walking or sports.

It's rough with out poop bags

Beautiful park with FREE parking atop the hills of Foothill Ranch. This park has most of the amenities of a well equipped park...two tennis courts (however no light at night), a great children's playground, soccer field, basketball courts, baseball field. We like to come here for a round of tennis, followed up with lunch picnic and maybe even stay to watch the beautiful sunset go down over the hill. Not sure about the restrooms since I usually avoid public park/beach bathrooms at all cost. Only reason this place is not getting a 5th star is because of the lack of lights that are needed near the tennis courts...too dark to play after the sun sets.

A great place for a walk. The views are beautiful. Rolling hills, blue sky's, and lots of bunnies for Sully to chase.

    Lots of shade

We did the serrano road and line shack loop, which was about 3.4 miles total. We arrived at around 8am, and spent about 1.5 hours on the hike, walking a moderate pace. I really liked that how this trail was easily marked and flat. There was also plenty of shade, on the trail, so even as the sun came up, it was still pretty cool. There's some elevation on the trail, but overall, I'd say it was pretty easy to causally walk and talk. When you get to the peak of the trail, you can oversee the Foothill Ranch area, and it looks gorgeous! We followed the parking instructions on AllTrails, which led us to a church parking lot, which connects right to the trail. I did see that this park has other more difficult hikes, so I'd definitely go back for another one!

Beware of parking at the adjacent parking lots because they are pretty strict about not parking there for hikers. There are a variety of trails at differing difficulty levels and there are select trails that are multi-use where cycling is allowed. We went on the Borrego Canyon Trail and the Red Rock Canyon trail that was a total of two miles one way. There was some shade from the tall trees but some parts were in direct sunlight. There was a good amount of flat land and didn't have too much of an incline. When you get to an intersection with multiple directions just keep going straight and follow the signs for Red Rock Canyon. You will know when you're at the end when you see signs and rocks all around you. The red rocks really reminded me of the hikes that I went to in Arizona and it was cool to see that in California. Overall it took about one hour one way to get from the parking lot through Borrego Canyon Trail and to the end of Red Rock Canyon. Overall it was an easy and enjoyable hike.

The park is so small that the walkway is only on one side of the park. The paved road ended at the far end of the park. Anyone feeling adventurous can follow the dirt trail all the way to the Whiting Ranch park entrance I was told. This quaint park is clearly intended for neighbors' use only as it does not have a public restroom on-site. The best asset of this park is its gorgeous view of the canyon. Clearly the Bond Fire got too close to the park when you see the wooden fence been replaced by iron stakes covered with a orange mesh, and the charred remain of trees on the other side of the fence. As small as it may be, it has more visitors than the other, larger, Borrego Park, about a mile down the hill. It seems to be very popular with dog owners walking their dog(s).

There are benches and tables for a nice picnic, and a small playground for kids. I think the best view is actually away from the city and looking down into the canyon. I've never seen people there, but there are trails - I wonder if that's open to the public? Anyway, very peaceful place. I love coming here!

This last time we went, was a nice day, sort of gloomy but still bright for great photos. Borrego park is adjacent to an elementary school and shares a parking lot with Foothill Ranch Library. The shaded playground is right at the entrance of the park with restrooms immediately next to it. The park has a large open green space for sports and we often see soccer practices here of all ages. There is a track around the green which people use for walking or kids riding their scooters and bikes. Around the perimeter you'll find benches and tables for gatherings. The tables towards the front are in good shape, the tables towards the back seem to be new/newer. There is a basketball court at the back end. It looks to have been recently painted. Off to the side of the court are more tables. All of them have holes for umbrellas. In this area, you will find painted rocks in memory of, Blaze. He was a young man that unfortunately lost his life due to a disgusting human. It's quiet here and I like to sit at these back tables. This is a fairly popular park because of its proximity to Foothill Ranch Elementary School, as well as the Foothill Ranch Public Library. It's often crowded during the week but not too crowded in the off-season for soccer. There are shaded benches and tables all around to enjoy a picnic or other outing. Spring and summer days here can be particularly beautiful. Five stars.
