High marks due to wide variety and reasonable prices. Known for fruit and veggies but carries lots more: cheese/dairy, baked goods, spices, ethnic food -- and much more. It's a small speciality store next door to the one of the best speciality stores: Trader Joe's. I quibble a bit as I regularly find berries that are moldy and veggies with soft spots. Some yelpers complain about the staff. They can be perfunctory but I've never seen them be rude. Base your own groceries to speed things up.

I heard this was like the sister store to Felipe's in Sunnyvale and it sure feels that way! The best prices on produce with a pretty wide range of options. It's also right next to trader Joe's so I can grab everything I need in one stop.

Great prices, great variety, fresh produce - especially the veggies! - .... When shopping for delicate fruit [apples, peaches, etc.], you might have to watch out for the occasional bruises, but the vegetables are most always super good and super fresh. Also many specialty/international veggies that you might not find at the ordinary supermarket. Awesome people too! I accidentally dropped my ID on the floor in there once while shopping, and the clerk chased me down in the parking lot to return it before I got away. There is also quite a selection of packaged food imported from Israel, Russia, Europe, etc. Bottom line: go there; it's amazing.

I have recently started going to this place. It has fresh produce and you don't have to pay premium price for it.

This place, and their other location (in Sunnyvale, it's called Felipe's) are the BEST produce stands I have ever found. I love them both!

With how crazy inflation has gotten for groceries, anything to save helps. There is a lot of good variety of fresh fruits and veggies here. I usually can find good prices for tomatoes, apples, onions, and other basic cooking staples here. That said, you do need to be careful when picking out your food because some items might be getting close to expiration or are going moldy or bad already. So just pick and choose diligently. The shop does get crowded after work and on weekends, so it's best to come during weekdays or earlier mornings if possible. The workers here are always nice. It's well lit inside and they usually have fresh fruits outside the door as well for you to browse before you enter the store. Overall, cool place to shop. I enjoy frequenting here when I can to grab groceries for my family!

And then the rest of the group would be like, hurry up, lets go, but you wanted to look at everything still? And then you grow up and one day you are really hungry and you decide to go into this little produce market! So you and your mom go in, and there all these tiny aisles stacked high with all types of food, especially international food. And you get to look around and pick out a bunch of cool new snacks to try and check out the entire store and it's really great. And then you go home and eat it, and you really like most of them so now you either have to find a way to buy it online or drive all the way over, but maybe it's worth it! That's basically what my experience was!

Yes, the aisles are very narrow and perhaps customer service is not their number one priority. However, it is what it appears to be. A great place to peruse and select your own produce - verifying that it is fresh and in good shape. We bought cherries, apples, peaches, apricots, cauliflower, lavash bread, vegan challah (excellent!), lettuce, spinach, etc... Everything was delicious. This store may make you feel like you visited a foreign country - it may take time to adjust to the surroundings and "culture" but it is well worth the effort.

Everything is made fresh to order, and you can really taste the quality in every dish. I especially loved the grilled meats -- they had that perfect smoky char flavor straight from the grill. The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the different dishes and the best way to enjoy them. Beef, Kofta & Chicken: Super flavorful and packed with spices, with an amazing grilled/charred flavor. I loved being able to build my own wrap with all the different veggies and sauces! Hawawshi Traditional (Egyptian Meat Pie): Similar to arayes, but even more flavorful and juicy. It comes generously stuffed, and the arugula paired perfectly with it. Chicken Breast Bowl: OMG, the fries were so good! The chicken and fries combo worked perfectly together. The chicken had subtle hints of lime and was served over a creamy mayo-style sauce that tied everything together. Salad: Light, refreshing, and topped with onions, pickled veggies, fruit, and vinaigrette. Overall, it's such a fun and casual place to hang out. There's an outdoor patio with self-serve tea and water, and I loved the cozy lights and tent setup. I'll definitely be back!

They were nice enough to skin and cut it. But I found it was mostly bone, with desirable meaty pieces missing. The grocery store had several middle eastern products, which all looked interesting. There was also Gol persian ice cream. They had a reasonably priced food menu as well. I love the Egyptian items in the menu the most. Hawawshi is my favorite. Chicken kofta kabob skewer was good. Beef/lamb shawarma wrap was ok. It didn't have much flavor. They give a garlic sauce (Toom) as side. That is super flavorful. Everything tastes better with it. Side pickled vegetables was very flavorful too.

When we arrived at home all 3 were icy. Texture was crunchy with ice instead of being smooth and creamy. The cantaloupe had a thick, chewy dry layer at the top which was disgusting. We assume it has to do with how the ice cream is stored in their freezer. Come to think of it, their freezer was very frosty and icy. For the price of these (normally great) containers of ice cream, this was a huge let down. After this experience we discovered Zanotto's supermarket in Sunnyvale carries Marianne's. We got a tub of lemon custard and it was not icy at all. It was very smooth and creamy, just like getting scoops at the Marianne's shops in Santa Cruz.

The paella itself tasted delicious with lots of mussels, clams, shrimp and some chunks of pork. As of 1/26, it's 35 dollars a serving (serving size is a quart)

I was there last time for their freshly cooked paella and it was impeccable. Recently we came back…read moretwice, once on Sunday as I forgot that the paella was a Friday thing, so the staff told me that they usually have paella and clam chowder freshly cooked on Friday. They happened to have a small tub of Friday clam chowder left for sale, for a whopping $16! That price dropped my rating to a 4 star. Service is still 5, but man, the value proposition isn't as high as before. The clam chowder tasted good, creamy and all, but $16 for that is really hard to swallow. The store itself is clean and sells a variety of meat products and imported goods such as from Italy. We came again on Friday evening, at 5pm exact and saw the paella pan laid outside with some amount of paella piled up. The pan felt cold and we were confused if they haven't started cooking or those were the left over. So we went inside to ask and they said the paella was available starting at 5pm, so what's on the pan was cooked. We bought 1 portion, which feeds 2-3 and it came in two 16 oz tubs. For $35, it fed my husband and myself just right. The smoky flavor was on the rice with meat and lots of clams and mussels (but not those fatty mussels that you saw in the Belgium style dish). $35 for dinner of two is not as bad value as the $16 bowl of chowder. So overall, 3.5-4 stars for food and value, 5 stars for service and friendliness.
