I'm glad it's here but I miss Sigona's in Redwood City. This place can't come close. Not enough organic to tempt me to shop here often. Sales people are really unfriendly (most won't even say hello or goodbye or thank you) but really chummy with each other, as if to emphasize how much they don't like you, the customer. The dry goods, frozen goods are not well-edited so you're not sure if you're buying something good or not if you stray from the produce area. I'll shop here but I don't like it. read more

I far prefer Milk Pail, though it is farther away. Foothill Produce is friendly and has a lot of different kinds of produce, but the store is crowded and a little messy, with a bad smell. It is very difficult to tell which produce is organic vs. produce that is not. I bought a lot of fruit thinking it was organic - but it wasn't. Also, you have to be careful - many items for sale are no longer fresh, though they look okay. Back to Milk Pail for me. read more

I have recently started going to this place. It has fresh produce and you don't have to pay premium price for it.

We used to go to the old Foothill produce about once a month. We were often the only people there on Saturdays. Ever since the new owners took over, it seems to be packed no matter what time we go. Luckily, the checkers are lightning fast. Yesterday, when we grabbed some golden raspberries, they refused to sell them to us because they were bad. They dug through the display to find some good ones, and through out the others. Great! They have also recently expanded in to the old postal store next door. Its amazing what good quality and low prices can do to demand. read more

This shall be a zero or negative Do not go there. The store is messy and dangerous. I fell by stepping on a fruit on the floor and hit the ground extremely hard. It took me 5 minutes to ease off slightly from the pain before i could stand up. The manager told me to watch my own steps. And he sneaked in someone to clean up while i was on the ground. Then he asked me " what were you stepping on? There is nothing on the ground ". Luckily there was a very nice lady who saw me stepped on the fruit, lost my balance, struggled and hit the ground. Also the marks of my fell was all over the ground. I ended on crutch! it is really not worthwhile and the price is not that great anymore. It is safer to go trader Joe's. At least the trader Joe's store staffs are honest with a smile. read more

Best prices around in fruits. Small store but the strawberries, mango and bananas are on point! Sweetest fruit around that I've had...cherries could be better but they are still pretty decent for their price. So far I'm not going anyplace else for my fresh fruits. read more

My favorite place to purchase fruits and vegetables, but also much more. They have all my favorite Israeli products from home, and a great selection of cheeses and bread. The quality is higher and the prices much lower than anywhere else. The registers can look crowded but it always goes quickly and efficiently. LOVE this place. Why go to the farmer's market or get produce anywhere else. They have a great selection at prices that can't be beat. I go there every weekend and stock up. They have a good selection of breads, cheeses and juice as well, but for me it's all about the fresh, cheap produce. I wish they had more organic options, thats why they don't have 5 stars, but this was my favorite produce market in the whole south bay. They are cheap and have a large selection. The people that work there are rediculously kind and always have a smile on their face. Like others mentioned, although this produce market is small, they manage to pack in a lot of great food in there! If you get produce here it will be cheaper than whole foods, trader joes, and even safeway. Not only are you getting a deal, but your helping out local farmers and a local business. I love this market! Though I hate the parking lot it shares with Trader Joe's, Rite Aid, and Carvel...(mmmm... Fudgie the Whale ice cream cake with chocolate crunchies... Sorry... focus!) Anyway, the produce is fresh and so inexpensive! I've consistently gotten sweet white corn, even in October and November. Brussel sprouts are perfect, and 99 cents a pound! I regularly get both of those, yukon golds, zucchini, apples, bananas, red, green, yellow and orange bell peppers (which were also 99 cents per lb. this past summer), and fresh herbs. And the bill has yet to exceed $15. And they take credit! Wow. read more

After a nice hike at Rancho San Antonio, I usually go to Foothill Produce for fresh, local fruits and veggies. I love how everything is reasonably priced and well-stocked. I really liked shopping here despite the crowded aisles but lately the produce has been less than fresh. And by that i mean actually moldy and rotting while on display. Not just a random one thing but several items rotting with fruit flies around it and other things fuzzy with mold. Also most of the time the service is decent but today the checker was downright rude: grabbed my bags from me so gruffly I was actually startled and he didn't say a single word to me during the entire transaction. Walked into here by accident thinking it was Trader Joe's and I was trying to make my trip to Los Altos not a complete waste of my time due to Retreat's stylist canceling LAST min! Anyways, cute little produce place and the prices are pretty cheap, and great selection/variety. I picked up some avocados here. Definitely will stop by if I'm in the area. read more

I give this place 5 stars because it simply rocks! I was so thrilled that the new owner came over from The Milk Pail Market in Mountain View and bought it, and transformed it from a sluggish vegetable market to a wonderful vegetable, fruit, cheese, bread...etc market. It's the freshest and cheapest in town! If you want fresher, maybe the Mountain View Farmer's Market, but this place is open every day and late at night! Bonus! Don't feed your children junk vegies and fruit from Safeway anymore, people! (I also highly recommend this place over Trader Joe's produce. I love you, Trader Joe's, just not your produce.) And, another bonus, it is right next to Trader Joe's Los Altos, Carvel ice cream, a great Aveda salon. read more

Can't beat the produce or the prices. Yes it is a bit crowded, the aisles are narrow, the checkout lines are long. But this is a family owned business and they do what they do well. Acme bread is plentiful. Veggie choices are remarkable (check out the mushrooms). I love the music they play. And everyone is friendly and helpful. read more

Mostly everything is fresh. Pineapples iffy. Be careful, some things not priced, and then it seems deliberately mislabeled. E.g. They have Yellow nectarines at 79cents a pound label in front of White nectarines which are 2.49 a pound. They say they don't have time to label! Two stars for deception. I'm giving this place a four because of how pleasantly surprised i was at the produce,i.e. green leaf lettuce, kale, swiss chard, green onions,,mixed salad in a bag,spinach,bell peppers, etc,... fresh and inexpensive! I would walk past this store on the way to TJ's and the way it always looked so crowded and unkept it reminded me of those asian markets on stockton st. up in san francisco. This place, and their other location (in Sunnyvale, it's called Felipe's) are the BEST produce stands I have ever found. I love them both!

We've been shopping here for quite a while now. We loved their price and freshness of the veggies. That was the main reason we keep coming back. But as some of the reviewers said the place is really cramped. There is almost no room to push the cart around with getting stopped and jammed, especially the produce aisle. The deli did take a lot of already small space. I don't know how owner and management can do to improve the situation. But we hope they'll do something soon. Otherwise, we'll not use it as our primary produce shop. read more

Once they had put organic cauliflower at some lower price label by mistake though actual price was much higher in register. Not sure what the hype is about. This store is so hard to navigate and it is lack of common sense that the store owner has done nothing to clear aisles or reduce clutter to make for a better shopping experience. Are we a third world country or first world? The produce is not as fresh and have found Sprouts store to be a much better environment and reasonable to shop and they take things back if they are not ok too. This is a nice to have convenience store for a quick stop but then the lines are so huge without any clearly marked cashier line so that makes for frustration and hardly anyone understands English. Have noticed lots of mistakes on the receipt and they charge in a hurry whatever they feel like. A small Persian cucumber was $1 when u can get an entire regular cucumber for less than 50 cents elsewhere. Apples were rotten and all spoilt from the inside, so be careful what u buy. read more

I stop by here over the weekends after a long hike in Rancho San Antonio. I almost didn't go in because I assumed they'd be pricey being in the location that they are. It's very economical. The place has great produce selection (organic veggies are on the right side of the store) and you just can't beat the prices, especially in this economy. I no longer shop for produce at any of the major grocery stores, neither at TJ's. And TJ's is just next door so I go there for everything else. The employees are friendly and hard working. Last time I was there in the morning, Acme's was just pulling away so I made sure I picked up some fresh sourdough baguette. BTW.. I did check their refrigerator section and their Kefir is more expensive here than at TJ's so if you drink the stuff, better to buy that at TJ's. For the most part I only pick up fruits and veggies here. read more

This is a great place to buy all of your veggies and fruits. I shop here twice a week. The prices are very reasonable and much cheaper than grocery stores. The produce is always fresh. Can I give this place 10 stars?? My favorite place to shop, period! They have great selection of fruits and vegetables ( even lots of exotic stuff you don't find at a regular market- They usually have 8 different kind of apples, 5 different potatoes, and lots of fresh herbs. This place have introduced me to lots of new vegetables- I got my first purple potatoes here, as well as prickly pear! The price is very affordable. I love the fact that they carry lots of cool imported stuff as well! We usually get some of the liver pates. AND THEY CARRY ACME BREAD. What more could u want?? read more
