Don't be too worried in hearing that the teachers are stern, as it is very much needed for the toddlers going through their big feelings/emotions stage around 2 years old. I started bringing my 2.5 year old to this school just before her 2nd birthday. We wanted to make sure that the school we sent our toddler to fit our needs. We toured around to about 8-10 other school/daycares in SGV before settling here. What sold us was that it is Mandarin only, it has experienced teachers, and our toddler seemed to immediately gravitate towards Huang laoshi (despite our toddler normally taking a while to open up to a new person). We also loved the idea of the teachers coming to our home before officially starting to check out the home environment and to see that they cared to get a detailed understanding of our needs and wants for our child. It's not something you normally see happening from other schools. The school does so well in making sure that the toddlers are engaged and help them with confidence to be independent. I've seen my child grow so well here. Her Mandarin has improved so much as she pieces together more words and she's more willing to try things on her own first before asking for help. We are always excited to see what our toddler will come home telling us she learned. Of course, I could keep listing words of praise on how this is a great school for your toddlers, but some of us need to "see it to believe it". So with that said, I highly recommend coming here or at least checking it out and setting up a tour if you're on the lookout for a school or daycare for your child!

They're always very patient, kind, and attentive with the kids, and we love that they send updates, photos, and highlights throughout the day on the Brightwheel app so we always know how hes doing. They focus a lot on development and exposure through hands-on activities like coffee grinding, flower arranging, and special events. We sign up as parents on what items to bring such as apples or bananas or whatever that week's activity is. We recently attended their Mother's Day event and it was such an endearing moment especially for a first time mom. Right off the bat we can tell the teachers at Nuoyi honestly care about helping the children grow, learn, and become more confidant while still making them feel loved and nurtured. Fraser has a very strong personality, and we love how patient the staff is and how the Montessori way allows him to channel it positively. My child has learned so much here, especially in STEM-related subjects. His life skills, independence, and hands-on abilities have improved tremendously. The school also provides a wide variety of enriching activities, including science fairs, carnivals, puppet shows, bubble shows, and animal petting events where the children can ride ponies and interact with rabbits and other animals. The school also hosts special Mother's Day and Father's Day breakfast events that make families feel very involved and welcomed. Every year, the winter and spring performances are what I look forward to the most. It is truly impressive to see a group of 4-year-olds confidently perform three English songs, one Chinese song, one Spanish song, and even a dance routine on stage. I had both of my kids enrolled in the First Avenue Education, Inc. (FAEI) since they were…read morekindergarteners. Both of them completed the program and are currently attending high school. Sending my children to the FAEI program has proven to be the best decision my wife and I made. As working parents, we were unable to pick up our children after school; the school bus picked up the kids from school and dropped them off in front of the First Avenue Middle School with FAEI teachers waiting for their arrival. It was comforting for us parents knowing our kids were in good hands and it relieved us from worrying about their safety after school. The Chinese language classes are taught by highly qualified, experienced, and caring teachers. I was pleasantly surprised how our kids were able to learn Chinese so well in a short period of time. This is something I was not able to do on my own. The home work class helped my children develop good study habits; it trained them to develop concentration, focus, and the skills needed for completing their school work. The kids finished their homework before coming home. The FAEI's wonderful staff sincerely cares about their students. The teachers and the staff members offer good advice on how to communicate with our children effectively and become good parents. We rely on the staff members as our eyes and ears to make sure our kids are on the right track. We have open dialogs with the teachers and the staff members to monitor our children's development and progress.
