He cut more off the top than I had asked, and when I went to my friend's place right after, he had to pull clippers out to clean up the sides because nothing was trimmed behind my ears or at my neck line. Dean's is a well known local establishment in the Southern California area that gives a very homely, small town appeal. Where do I begin? This was no haircut.... this was a yank a pull and an uneven chop. My cousins hair looks like he was dragged by a Rottweiler through the streets with garbage and stickers. My cousin had his hair cut here for our Mother's Day gathering and he was so upset by the way he was treated It was heart breaking. I cannot say that I personally have ever been here nor will I ever visit this place. By the looks of my poor cousin who was literally yanked and pulled I would never recommend this place. You will end up paying twice to fix the ghastly hair dumpster. Robert does not listen to the client and exhibits behavior of a pure thug. Warning to anyone considering this barbershop. On Thursday, May 25th at approximately 3pm, my dad received a botched haircut. The barber DID NOT follow instruction, my dad even showed the barber a picture of the haircut he wanted and he still messed it up. In my dad's exact words "THIS BARBERSHOP BUTCHERED MY HAIR. I will never recommend this place to anyone." It saddens me that he told the barber he was unhappy with his haircut and as a respectful veteran, he never complains... but the barber still expected to be paid. Decent hair cuts but dirty place the lady that was cutting hair in one chair didn't clean in between 4 hair cuts and used the same Disposable straight razor on three of them. Then the gentleman who cut my hair just kept complaining saying the way I wanted my haircut should cost more because it was more than a basic fade. But they offer flat fee for military so I don't get why he would complain about my hard part and lining me up the only reason I'm giving 2 stars is my hair cut wasn't awful but it wasn't great, if your worried about a clean Sterile shop don't come here. If you want a cheap and ok hair cut that's not for a special occasion this is place. After going to other shops in vista I would definitely say this my be one of the dirtiest shops. read more

The elderly white male - pretty bad at cutting hair in general, definitely not gentle with your head, and doesn't at all seem interested in doing a good job, just watches tv. My husband was in there today, 10/6, for a haircut. There were two women working. The woman in chair 2, which is where my husband was, REFUSED to wear a mask (the other barber WAS wearing a mask, as well as all the other clients). There is a sign out front that you must wear a mask before entering. She advised him "not to listen to the government" about Covit. He would have left but she had already started cutting his hair. I have been coming to deans barbershop for over two years, always get great service and great quality cuts. I once tried going to another shop close to my work (lakeside,CA) and did not receive the same service or quality as deans. The next day I went to deans and walked in and explained to dean id just need the sides fixed and he took care of me at no charge. They can help transform you into a new person, giving you a clean and confident look. And that's what exactly Robert does. He's been cutting hair for awhile, so he knows a lot of different kinds of cuts. I never had a problem with any of his cuts, but I could imagine if you wanted to adjust something, Robert would do it with no problem.
