The…read morebarber initially asked whether I needed a haircut, but once I clarified that I only needed my mustache cleaned up, I was turned away. There was one customer in the chair who appeared to be finishing up, and no one else was waiting. Based on the timing and the way the interaction unfolded, I was left with the clear impression that the service I requested simply wasn't viewed as worthwhile. I would have gladly paid $20-$30. I'm a SaaS consultant, my professional appearance is important, and I live around the corner. More importantly, I was evaluating local barbershops with the intention of establishing a weekly routine. If there was an upcoming appointment or another legitimate scheduling constraint, that could have been communicated easily. A professional response would have been to explain the limitation, offer an alternative time, or provide an opportunity to schedule. Instead, I was dismissed as soon as it became apparent that I wasn't requesting a higher-value service that day. That reflects a surprisingly shortsighted approach to customer acquisition. The immediate transaction may have been relatively small, but the long-term value of a reliable weekly customer would have been considerably greater. Successful neighborhood businesses generally understand that distinction. After reviewing the owner's responses to previous criticism--including referring to customers as "lame," "cowards," and "clowns," while repeatedly emphasizing that he doesn't need their business--I'm fully expecting an equally polished demonstration of customer-relations expertise in response to this review. Perhaps I'll be informed that, after 35 years in business, my recurring business wasn't needed either. If that is the response, it will only validate the concern. A simple five- or ten-minute service could have created a long-term customer who lives within walking distance. Instead, the business made a deliberate choice to turn that opportunity away. Based on both my experience and management's public responses to other customers, I'll direct my business elsewhere.

My rough-and-tumble dad just turned 78 and has slowed down quite a bit and needs a little help keeping himself looking sharp. His barber, Albert, and the rest of the guys including owner Brandon, were absolutely phenomenal with him. They took us as a walk-in and gave him a great haircut and full hot shave. More than anything, everyone was so friendly, chatty, and welcoming. For an old-school, highly social dude who doesn't get out much anymore, it was one of the best days out he's had in a while. So happy to have such a great local barber right in our backyard. We'll definitely be back. Thanks, fellas, for taking such great care of my guy!

The folks over at "Evolved" Barbershop mean every single word they say and they stand by all of them, which on the night my 9 yr old boy and Ishowed up was quite a few of them. From the moment we walked in his commentary was cordial, comical and engaging! I'm one of those dudes who is not overly fond of "small" talk. OK...well, now I feel would be a good time to conclude this review! Please know, and with 100% seriousness, our lady in the 2nd Booth from the front door was great! She was awesome at making my shy, always trying too hard to be cool, and quite picky, 9 year old feel great, comfortable and and with a newfound confidence. I suppose that is what a new look, expertly created, can do for you! I forgot to mention that she was quick, as well! We walked in (no appt) around 6:30pm pn a Tuesday night and there was only one other customer in the joint. During our 20 min or so, that guy finished and another guy entered and was promptly greeted and taken care of by the young man near the back. After roughly 17-20 minutes, my lil dood shook off the excess strands of cut hair and walked out of EVOLVED with a whole lot more "rizz" and you cannot place a price tag on that! My son's hair has NEVER looked better and I mean that!!! That is why we will be returning to EVOLVED every 3-4 weeks as we go forward!

If I was to speculate, my barber seemed distracted by a conversation that was happening on my right side where the hair was left uneven. It's an observation not a claim. This was before a vacation. Once I got home, I went to a different shop and they immediately saw and fixed the issue. This shop has a great reputation so I think might've been an off day.

My boys had been going to the same person for haircuts since their very first cuts, so when she moved away I wasn't just looking for someone who could cut hair. I wanted a shop that understood their mixed curly hair, but I also wanted the experience to still be something they enjoyed. Haircuts have always been one of those little things the boys and I do together, and I didn't want it to suddenly feel like a chore. Because our schedule is usually packed, the first time we went to Catrins we took a chance and booked three different barbers at the same time. Somehow we went 3-for-3. Lance, Rebekah and Cass have all been awesome. They take the time to listen to what we want, they're great with my boys, and they've created a shop where everyone feels part of the conversation. A lot of times it turns into one big conversation across the whole shop instead of three separate haircuts, and my kids dig it. It's relaxed, funny, welcoming, and still easy to get in and out without turning a haircut into a two-hour event. Most importantly, they're really good at what they do. They've learned my boys' hair and consistently get their cuts right. I even brought Grandpa in when he was visiting and he walked out completely happy too, so apparently they've got every generation covered. I've had very long hair the past 7 years and I decided it was time to finally chop it off. I knew there was only one place I would go and one person I trusted...that was Lance. I sent him a couple ideas of what I wanted and he said no problem. Now usually with a decision like this one might get a little nervous day of, well the moment I walked in I was greeted by all the barbers and even some of the clients. He took amazing care of me and when he finally said are you ready to check it out, he turned me around to the mirror and man was I HAPPY with what he did.
