Another visit to our local Food Lion. Pre-Independence Day, the store is running some great specials on holiday essentials -- large seedless watermelons for $2.49, corn on the cob (4 for $1), and Turkey Hill ice cream (2 for $6). All were in stock and looking good. We were less successful in finding some items from our shopping list. I needed some specific produce items for recipes that weren't on the shelves -- eggplants, mung bean sprouts, scallions -- though they often carry them. While the latter two items were not in stock, we got exceptional service from a young man who was stocking items in the produce section. He ran back-and-forth to the back, with a smile on his face, to see if any of these items were there, waiting to be put out on the shelves. He found eggplants for us, and also an estimate for when the other items would be coming in. We love that this Food Lion is now selling fresh organic herbs -- basil, cilantro, mint, rosemary, and more -- that are still in small pots with dirt. We purchased a mint one for $3.49, which provides a larger quantity of fresh product than the small amount in the plastic containers. We also wanted to buy a basil one but many of the basil leaves were shriveled and dry so we opted for one of the small plastic containers. I also needed some specialty items -- and was unsuccessful in finding coriander seeds, star anise, and rice vermicelli noodles. The latter seemed to be sold there but were out-of-stock. Sigh, I've just had to order these three items online from a large retailer. A final note. We had a pleasant check-out experience. The line was short, the cashier was VERY friendly and efficient, and our bill was correct. read more

Placed an online catering order. Arrived at the prearranged time to pick up the order and there was a mistake. The catering team missed seeing and fulfilling the order! Party was in two hours and the team jumped into action. Not only did they make the entire order in one hour but the manager personally delivered everything to our home in time for the party!! This has nothing to do with Food Lion, but I just have to say, when picking up groceries here, we quickly realized we were in The Country. It was great entertainment just checking out the fellow shoppers, and uncommon specialty foods like ham hocks, fat back, etc. I moved away from Virginia a while back, and I actually thought Food Lion no longer even existed! This location must have been revamped recently, as it felt a lot fresher than those I have visited in the past. They had a nice selection of wine, and, being from out of town, we were happy to find a small end cap featuring local products. We picked up cute VA-made swirly sugar sticks, and easily located the necessities on our shopping list. As with the majority of grocery stores now, you must be part of the rewards program in order to take advantage of their sale prices, but just do it (we used my in-law's phone number - ha! Take that, system!). Employees were friendly enough, the store was clean, and it would be a fine option if I lived nearby. read more

Can't help but recommend it. It's the only grocery store within miles of our house. While it's not much to look at, they generally have pretty much everything you need except for frozen diced potatoes for hash browns. Always out. read more

This is a wonderful Food Lion! They've redone it, and they have a good organic section. They also have a decent gluten free section as well! The people who work here are generally pretty great, and I'm very very happy with most of the findings. This Food Lion is a life-saver--it's nearby Lake Anna, so whether you're visiting, or a local, it makes it super easy to get groceries or last minute needs. Prices are pretty good, even on their organic produce, and the store is clean. Two thumbs up! read more

If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. With the exception of the 2 ladies that work there, this pharmacy has put me through hell. They have told me several times a prescription is ready and when I get there it's not. I've had BAD communication with them and insurance. I switched to them bc CVS was giving me a headache and now I don't know which is worse. Most recently, I have been there 3 times in the past week trying to get my own prescription and while there, asked if my daughter had any, they always said no. Today, I call and ask bc she should have had it filled on the 17th and they tell me I have to tell them when I need it. WTFdo you think I was doing the 3 times I was physically there asking about it. IDIOTS!!! IM DONE! The store is GREAT!!! Other than being out of things bc of COVID, it is always clean and everyone is friendly. read more

Okay food Lion. Really wish it had sushi but I'm guessing it isn't big enough. Overall produce is good and relit is passable. If your looking for more exotic or high end items unfortunately you need to make the trek to Fredericksburg or Culpeper or Charlottesville. read more

This store has recently abandoned it's efforts to ensure the safety of it's customers and employees during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I no longer feel safe shopping at this store. Dollar General is my new go to for last minute items and I will continue using Instacart for Wegmen's & Publix. Food Lion is a disappointment. read more

Boy are we glad to have had Food Lion at Lake Anna for the past 11 years. With few exceptions, we find everything we need or want at Food Lion at excellent prices. Their loyalty program also adds value for regular customers. read more

Great grocery store, especially for being so far from any other grocery store. Close to Lake Anna vacation spots which makes it very convenient. They had a great selection of produce, meats, health food options, and beer. Prices are higher due to it being so close to the lake, but they weren't incredibly high. Plenty of sales to take advantage of. It's in a small shopping strip with subway, Verizon, and a Chinese food restaurant. Can't say much more about a grocery store. Suffice it to say it's in a great location in terms of convenience, is new and nicely built, has everything you need at reasonable (although somewhat more expensive prices compared to grocery stores twenty minutes away) prices. I can be a picky eater and came away with everything I needed. read more

I thank this food lion is very lame there very high on there products even on there closeouts are crazy they never have anything in stock when you need it. I went there and got something really good one time went back to get some more and they told me sorry we don't sell it anymore what a let down. And another thing about food lion down here bags are not very strong they rip very easy they don't hold your items that well like I had some pickles in the bag the bag was so week it filed open feel on the floor Im glad the jar didn't break the food lion bags are weeker then a feather you need 2 or 3 bags to keep your stuff in it so it don't fall and break i thank food lion down here is not that grate of a store read more

This review is strictly for the pharmacy. THEY SUCK AND I HOPE THEY NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH A NEWBORN THAT NEEDS MEDICINE. Katie was a b****. We called only once a day several days in a row because our daughter was in dire need of her reflux meds. Well finally last week on Thursday my husband called the doctors office first, they told us the *urgent* pre-authorization had been verified/approved 2 days ago and our medicine should of been ready by now. So he then calls the pharmacy and Katie answers, he says he wanted to check on his daughter's prescription, she said "okay what's the last name" when he told her, THIS B**** had the audacity to huff and say "oh you again". At this point she better be glad she was dealing with him and not me. There's one thing you don't do and that's get pissed off at a customer for calling and checking on a prescription since they have a habit of not letting you know it's ready. Needless to say her and my husband got into a back and forth and she continued to be rude and down right disrespectful. Claims they still were waiting on the pre-auth and he had to tell her and Mr. Nguyen or whatever his name is to recheck their system several times before they realized yes in fact they had it. They still claimed it'd be another 24 hours before it'd be ready and he asked if they'd call and let us know it was ready or if he needed to call back the following day and do their jobs for them to see if it was ready. They said if we wanted to be sure to call first. At this point I don't trust Katie to not tamper with my daughter's medicine because I still didn't know what was being filled so we called a CVS to transfer it, they made the call, but the following day these dumba**es still filled it, claimed CVS never called to get it transferred which was a bold face lie. Then this stupid wench got another attitude said we were in such a rush to get it yesterday, they filled it, and now we didn't want it. Well no freakin duh, you treated your customers like crap and you expect me to allow insurance to pay you for it? Yeah okay, needless to say we're completely done with this Food Lion unless they fire her. read more

I was so excited when this Food Lion came to our area. The staff is so pleasant, the store is always clean, as are the bathrooms! The prices are awesome and the selection of products are huge. We have been going to this food lion since day one and they have gone down hill there prices have jumped like crazy theres no salacious what so ever they where out of stock of a lot they wasn't restocked on anything there closeouts deals lol what closeout deals i thank that they only take a dime off I haven't seen no buy one get one frees what so ever.. I mean a 1.75 for hamburger buns really we saw nothing but junk food on sale no healthy food or organic food on sale what's so ever at all. The pharmacy is lame i call 2 days before i go to pickup and they they tell me it's not in and my medicine is very important not a very good pharmacy i can say that. Another thing food lion has very poor quality and poor management what's so ever it's so bad we all most just left the basket and walked out it's getting that bad we don't even want to go back maybe for a emrgency or something but other than that the new grocery store Publix is way better the hell with Food Lion read more
