We have been shopping at this location since they opened years ago. The service is impeccable, it is an older store, the location is not an upper class location, the shelves, displays are filled as they are emptied or brought down to a lower amount of offerings. They do not have a very large amount of employees, these people work extremely hard to provide the best quality of service to their customers. Their put on shelves what is provided to them from manufacturers. As for fresh produce, just like any fancy store, on occasion you will find some produce less than beautiful (it happens at Wegman's too). I can honestly say that the service provided by all employees, not just management is outstanding. As for someone complaining about having to bring your own bag, same at Wegman's or they will charge you for one...People should stop complaining about absolutely nothing. Try shopping at Giant sometime and see if you get the same quality service (NOT). I enjoy our store and will keep on shopping at this location, besides I save my hard earned money.... So I've been frequenting ALDI a lot more as some of the store prices around here seem ridiculous. I've got to admit, I'm impressed with the majority of their offerings - except the fresh produce. It's hit and miss. Seems great in store but the minute you get home it's a couple of seconds away from spoiling. That aside, plenty of parking outside, it can get busy but staff do a great job to fly through the line of people waiting to checkout. read more

First time ever aldi experience and I guess it wasn't as bad as everyone said. It's super cheap but probably not the best quality. I think the only reason I would go there is to buy fruit and certain vegetables because it's such a great deal. They don't have any brand name items so if you're looking for something in particular, they probably don't have it. I needed cornstarch, lime juice, and basil leaves and they didn't have any of those items. It did get pretty crowded inside and I didn't think everyone was as friendly Compared to other grocery stores I've been too. Overall, I think I have mixed feelings about this place. I'm unsure if I'll be back but I'm glad I checked it out and gave it a sho. Bring your own bags! As a first time aldi shopper, I had no idea that was a thing. Bathroom was nasty. Now a worker has to clean this poop up. Who ever did this, you should be ashamed of yourself. Also a worker should at least check and clean bathrooms every 30 minutes to 1 hour. Also shelves in the home decorations and extra stuff could be more stocked up. Aldi was crowded as well. It looks like it was an updated Aldi. Groceries were stocked decently. Don't get me wrong, I love Aldi. I have six children and I have managed to stay in my grocery budget for years thanks to Aldi. The Courthouse Road Aldi is generally well stocked and serves my needs pretty well. I just got on here to say that I am getting tired of choosing items that are clearly marked down, and then looking at my receipt when I get home and finding out that I was charged full price. With the rising grocery prices, I have learned to keep an eye out for those items that are marked down, either in hand written signs, or now more recently, with their new printed sign system. I thought the new system might help them enter the price into their computer sooner, but it's even worse, and so consistent I would almost think it's being done on purpose. I have tried watching the cash register as every item goes through, but I am usually busy loading my items onto the the belt and I have young children I have to keep an eye on. I have tried asking the cashier to watch certain items, but they seem to get irritated and I don't often remember to keep track. Checking out is speedy at Aldi as you all know, and for me to get my entire grocery cart loaded up on the belt and not slow down the line means I am pretty busy the entire time the checker is checking my stuff. I know I could bring the overcharged items back, but then I feel like I would have to prove that the item was marked down, and I just don't have time to make return trips to Aldi all the time. I'd just like to say I think if you mark things down, you need to have some sort of system where it gets put into your computer immediately. I feel like I got ripped off every time this happens, which is pretty much every week. read more

This location is always clean and the staff is friendly. The prices fluctuate, but it's all still really cheap. I go as soon as they open to avoid any crowds. Love the produce and snacks. read more

First time to an Aldi's, so this review isn't about this location (necessary), and more for the first timers like myself. It felt like the Goodwill of grocery stores. No customer service at all. Shelves were not organized, and scarcely stocked. Prices were low from first glance, but there are very few name brands, so you don't really know what quality you're getting. If you're good with shopping for groceries at Big Lots, or Dollar Tree, you can probably find some lower cost deals here. But I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for food with nutritional value. I'm not sure how Aldi's stays in business with their model, other than the perception of savings. read more

I went to the Aldi's at Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg, VA on March 2, 2020. I could not find any chunky style chicken noodle soup on their shelves (They did have chunky beef). I asked an employee if they carried it any longer, or if they were just out of it, because there was no spot for it on the shelf. I was told that it is a seasonal item and they only carry it around the holiday! Can you believe it??? It's still winter and they only carry that type of chicken soup around the holidays!!! This store is constantly out of inventory, or they blame not having basic items because they are "seasonal"! Their produce section looks like something out of a third world country. Some of these reviews are really old. I think Aldi's has really improved their shopping experience at this particular grocery store. It's still $0.25 to "rent" the grocery cart, and if you don't bring your own bags, you have to pay for bags or use boxes. They now accept credit cards! That being said, their prices are very, very good. Occasionally I will see some old produce, but if I push the two bad baskets aside, I can find a good baskets of berries, etc. The cheese, deli meat, cold salads are delicious and a great buy. The wine selection is incredible and very affordable. I shop there for all of my parties and when I have guests. I wish their flowers were rotated more often. It is tough to find a fresh bouquet. Clean restrooms, friendly staff, plenty of parking. read more

I've been to this store for year's. That's why I can speak about it's drastic decline in products and services. First I noticed the stores degraded look, every though it supposedly went through innovations. Then a few products not in stock, then a change in personal, to a change in products. The worst of so called fresh asparagus or fresh green beans. Better cook them that day or they will go bad. This includes onions, fruits etc. Then I noticed a change in management. Guy looks Arabic, who I have nothing against except for the effect in prices and then vivid decline in choices, change in product line and the poor quality of shelf life or refrigeration life of food. At least if I go to Giants, wegmans or even Weiss my green beans aren't on the expiration list two days after I bought them. I'm done. Get the quality, staff and management back or a visit from the health department is in line. Oops I forget I had nats in the onions before I got them to my front door. As a European who has lived in Austria, I was excited to hear about Aldi and off I set today. Aldi is set up like a typical budget conscious grocery store in Austria. All the items are in boxes, and the prices are listed clearly above each item. I was looking for typical Austrian/German goods and I found plenty of things I can't get elsewhere - neufchachtel (sp) cheese, sausage, chocolates for hanging on the tree, Kids' Christmas chocolate gift bags (typical German), German cookies and chocolates, and plenty of other things much cheaper than at Costco - frozen wild salmon fillets (under $4 for four fillets - WILD salmon!), fresh pork chops etc. Unsalted butter was $1.49 a pack - cheaper than Walmart AND Costco!! Some real bargains. They have toys, and all kinds of things on sale - the inventory varies, and I like that they have a poster saying what's coming next week. The other European customs are here too - no dumping your cart in the parking lot - you put in a quarter to get your cart, go shopping, and then put the cart back for other customers and get your quarter back. It's also a cash/debit card only payment system - like costco, so be warned. Also, no bags, so bring your own or get a box (again, like Costco). I had hoped for more German fare, but maybe that's asking too much in good ol' Fredericksburg, but otherwise a wonderful find and I will definitely be back. read more

On August 16th I went to Aldis to get a couple of groceries. When I got there I went to go look at the produce area and I saw a whole bunch of flys flying around over fruits and on fruits. I got a cantaloupe and some bread and then went to go look at the grapes. The grapes were so old!!!!! So then I looked over at the cherrys and I saw a box literally on top of the bags of cherrys. So I did not buy the grapes or the cherrys. I love watermelons, so I went to look at the watermelons. And I saw a lot of fruit flys in both bins because a spoiled watermelon was in there. So basically all of the produce area was a mess. I did not even last 5 minutes in there because of the condition of the store. I always shop at the aldis on plank road Fredericksburg va, and it was nothing compared to that one. So I do not recommend this aldis. I will be having to stop by another aldis because this one was such a mess. I hope you do not have the same experience as I did. read more
