This Dollar General location has made a huge turnaround!…read more A few years ago, it was a mess, routinely had freight all over the sales floor, and was just not a very clean store that was easy to shop. So glad that this location has a new manager and staff that cares and it shows. Great location, right on corner of 401 and Tarboro. Easy to find things now, stocked well and much cleaner.

I've been going to this location for the past 3 years. However, after the past couple of visits,…read moreespecially today, I have decided to stop shopping here. We don't go grocery shopping often and tend to do one big trip once or twice a month. Having said that, most of the products here were either expiring within a few days or were already expired. I was looking at some cheese, I sometimes do the "manager's special" which means it's expiring soon. The cheese I picked up was completely molded. The produce section is a hit or miss. Nearly all of the bags of premade salads were expiring within a few days and the onions had fruit flies and bruising all over them. The soon-to-be expired food selection really makes grocery shopping for the month really difficult. On top of pricing, this is no longer the cheaper grocery store option in Wake Forest. The staff have always been lovely and oddly enough, I've made connections with quite a few people working in the checkout section. Unfortunately, due to high prices and nearly expired food every visit, I won't be coming back.

We special ordered a cake for the five year anniversary of our organization…read more The person who took our order said a white cake and lemon frosting with our group logo would be perfect. Instead we got a white cake and white frosting. We were told at pick up "I can try to fix it" but did not tell us what that meant. More likely than not just scraping the frosting off and putting on new. She did take off the price of putting the logo on and then offered the wonderful excuse " The logo is better on white anyway yellow frosting would tint the logo yellow" Guest services said "Oh, I'm sorry" and did not offer any assistance whatsoever. The correct answer should have been "What can I do take make it right". Now we know why it's guest services and not customer service as they provided no real customer service Overall our experience with the bakery and a custom order was terrible as was the lack of caring at guest services. I would consider not using them for custom orders or be specific in telling the to do what you ordered and don't make changes.

So tonight I shopped at both Lidl & Food Lion, and scored big by shopping at Lidl first…read more I love Lidl for many reasons, one like stores their prices are compared too, you don't have to have a quarter for a cart (because who really remembers that every time they go to get a cart), but you do have to pay for bags if you don't bring your own, or just have a bunch of groceries sitting in your car. They have great produce, and you're not always limited to buying a bag full of an item, when you really only need 2. They have more variety and lots of name brands at better prices. I hadn't been in awhile and was shocked to see Land O Lakes cheese, Frito Lay Brand snacks, Coke products to name a few brands. You definitely save money here. Plus they have an app which has all the goodies and coupons. They have all the meat, cheeses, selection of refrigerated pastas (to name a few)that you would think it's a specialty. Oh and in another review I mentioned how mouth watering their bakery is. I'll definitely drive the extra mile to go to Lidl.

I visited a Lidl back when I was on a trip in Germany. It was exciting to see that NC had one. The…read morestore is definitely not what I remembered back in Europe and it had mostly US-made products. We were kind of expecting more of a European grocery store. It turned out to be quite random. You can buy hummus on one side and turn around and buy a trampoline. The prices are decent so there's no issue there. It's just not what I remembered Lidl to be. The flow of the aisles were confusing, too. If I had to describe it, it's like a marketplace version of Costco. I do want to visit again during day hours because their bakery section looked like it would be great. Unfortunately, I visited around 7:30pm and most of the bakery items were gone.

Went to MY local pig because hey, I shop there a minimum of 4/5 days a week, my family lives 4…read moremiles down the road. Went to grab items for dinner and have seen the "check cashing" signs every time I've been in. You see I live in Sims and work in Fuquay. I'm a bartender who was recently affected by the global pandemic that shut down my place of business. Times are hard. For everyone. I have my last paycheck of 91$ drawn on Fidelity Bank. Fidelity bank has a dozen locations in and around the Raleigh area. I went to the counter where I always buy cigarettes and lottery tickets and asked if I could cash my check. It's a Sunday, my bank is closed and groceries were needed as I've been out of work for nearly a month. The nice young lady paged PETE to the front. I waited. Pete came, snatched the check, looked at it, and said " fuquay is outside my area" and while I was in the middle of explaining I only work there and live here... he turned around and walked off. Quite rude. Quite unprofessional and most inhospitable. You see I too work in the retail/hospitality industry. The Matthews family, who owns this store, are letting the most rude, vile creature represent them, and their brand by allowing Pete to treat customers this way. We've been shopping there for years. These are extraordinary times. I don't always expect to be told yes, but an explanation would have been nice. So Pete, do you only cash checks drawn on banks in Bailey? Just in Nash Co? What are the parameters? Was I turned away because you've never been to Fuquay? I would've gladly paid a check cashing fee and spent the entirety of this 91$ in your store. Your attitude needs an adjustment sir. And the store needs a more hospitable face to represent them during these dire times. A little kindness goes a LONG way. From now on I won't stop to see Jerry and Blake and the rest of the crew who are AMAZING, I'll drive to Wilson, to Food Lion. Gas well spent not to ensure Pete and his crass, sharp, attitude still have a job. If you can drive further to avoid this store please do. Management is unwilling to help, or even communicate with you. If you like being treated like you do at WalMart, drive on to WalMart and save money. Shop small means nothing when your people have GIANT attitudes!

So when we pulled up directions, and saw this location was also on the way home, we decided to do our shopping here. Easy to get in and out of, close access to the highway, they have all the amenities, including a gas station. The store was well stocked, and our limited interaction with staff (we did self check out) was pleasant. The carried everything we were looking for, only issue we had was finding things, as it was layer out as a mirror image to our usual location. No complaints, would shop here again, and would recommend, no crazy over crowding like Costco, good pricing/bargains on bulk items.
