This Safeway was clean and the bakery selection was pretty good! The shelves were well stocked which was surprising as the Walmart in Safford had bare shelves! keep up the great work Safford! There are 2 Safeway stores near us and I can't believe the difference in experiences between them…read more The store at 1334 E Chandler Blvd in Phoenix, AZ consistently has extremely rude employees. I had stayed away from that one for a while and just went back for a few quick items. The cashier named CJ was aggressively shoving items away from her after after she scanned them. One of the items rang up with the non-sale price (which happens all the time), and she openly mocked me for questioning it. After a lot of unnecessary back and forth she told me she had corrected it, and when I got home the receipt still had the wrong price on it. As I was walking away from her register, she was clearly talking about me to the next customer in line and they laughed and watched as me and my son walked out the door. I've read other reviews where employees say they are treated poorly by the company. Maybe being rude to customers is the way they get back at Safeway....?

This is the main grocery store in Morenci. It is similar to most Basha's grocery stores. There is a…read moresmall deli area with fresh-made pastries and breads, quick bites to grab and deli meats. They also have a small floral department to get your fresh flowers and special arrangements for dances/formals. They sell typical items found at most grocery stores. There is a small, modest organic produce section. They have a single row dedicated to Mexican and Asian cuisine, so there's a chance that you might be able to find some speciality ingredients, but it is minimal. There is a small meat/butcher section in the back, as well as a liquor and beer area in the back near the produce. It is located next to the ACE hardware store, in the community center area. There is ample parking space. It is known to get very busy around 5-6pm, so consider either going early or later in the day. Don't forget to enter your Basha's card number to get the discounts. If you don't have one, they usually will scan the customer courtesy card for you in order to be able to get the discounts/sales.

Ringing up my items just dropped them into the bag. Not a hello, nothing. She usually found sitting on the register counters, flirting with certain kids, cuts paying customers off to gossip or whatever she's doing while the customers are there. The store often has sections of the store with merchandise missing, their crews aren't able to do money orders, or help with sending or receiving money. The store is clean, good selections when they have it. Too much alcohol in my opinion. Some of the vegetables and fruits aren't quite ripe but yet very expensive. Cashiers have no name tags. They don't count change back. They don't know how. Management is VERY slow in helping when problems arise. They don't like to address issues at all. Disappointed in them as it is a neat location, and I like the step back to the 70s appearance. I like the variety. Just their staff wasn't friendly that turned me off. This is the only store in the area unless you drive an hour to safford, or lourdsburg. Or 1 1/2 to San Carlos reservation. I might have to drive farther if this keeps up. I do not expect this store to actually do anything to fix their small issues.
