There are quite a few Asian markets around Lowell, and Bayon Market is the one I'm most comfortable…read moregoing to. One of the biggest reasons is the parking. They have a decent-sized lot, and I can usually find a spot. Depending on when you go, though, it can get crowded, and parking can become a bit of a mess when people don't park very well. That's more on the drivers than the market itself. It's also surrounded by Asian prepared food shops, which is convenient if I want to pick up lunch or dinner while I'm there. Inside, things are organized in a way that makes it easy to find what you're looking for. Similar items are grouped together, so you don't need signs pointing you in every direction. Most importantly, I come here for the greens, herbs, and sauces. I'll also pick up pork belly and noodles depending on what I need. They used to carry my favorite crispy plantain chips, which I haven't been able to find here lately. Now they have sweet fried bananas instead, but those are too oily for me. I've only had one issue with produce, when I found mold in a whole package of mini eggplants. It hasn't been a recurring problem, though. Overall Service: They have multiple registers, which is a win when it comes to keeping things moving. The only confusing part is figuring out where the lines start. Sometimes people end up jumping in front of you, and usually it's a cute auntie, so I don't mind too much. I'd still come back. It's convenient, has the things I usually shop for.
