Was driving from NC to New Orleans back in early May and this place came up when I Googled to find a place to get a drink in Jackson. We were glad it did. My buddy and I had a couple of pints at the bar, and the selection was absolutely top-notch. If I hadn't gone in search of the restroom, I wouldn't have even noticed the extra seating, patio, or games - we were just there to sit at the bar - but, it looked like a great place to hang out if you're a local or have more time. Note to the owners - we poked our heads in at 11am on a Saturday because our car was still on eastern time and we thought it was really noon. Turns out the bar opened at 11, and not at noon, as the website said. We pointed this out to the guys who were working, but as of today, your website still shows your Saturday hours starting at noon. read more

Cool bar! Nice outdoor area and they have shuffle board. Great beer on tap. Didn't try the food, but the menu seems to fit that type of bar. Could be a regular watering hole when back in Jackson. read more

This is a really cool spot with a great selection of drinks and beer. The bartenders are great, especially Jen, and management is always appreciative and professional. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten there-the boiled peanuts are the best I've ever had. The FP typical crowd is respectful, fun, and laid back. They also have a huge patio in the back which is great. read more

Great environment. I go before 5 and the crowd is at a minimum. Always lots of beer on tap. Cool game things around the place. Lots of room for sitting. All around great. I don't go at night, though. read more

Great place, but a little too crowded. When the crowd gets large, service goes down, but otherwise it is wonderful. Wide variety of beers on tap and in bottles. Definitely the best bar in Fondren. read more

A real surprise. Just came in for a beer and snacks and they were great. The beers were excellent and the the gastro pub bites were amazing. The pepper jack cheese bites were extraordinary. And the just fried potato chip nachos with pulled pork were tasty. The music and service by Jennifer were wonderful. Loved it. read more

Fondren Public is a great place to hangout on the weekends. They have a great variety of craft beer, the mixed drinks are always created to perfection, and the staff is very friendly. On a Friday or Saturday night they are super busy but you are still guaranteed good service. They have an outside area with cornhole and seating, and inside is shuffleboard and more seating. I mean...it's a bar. It's not even a fantastic bar or anything. Maybe it's because I'd been hearing about this place for a year from my brother-in-law and this trip out we finally made it out to Fondren Public. There was nothing special I could see about this bar. In fact, two of our companions ordered the "Mississippi Mule" and it seems that their glasses were not cleaned properly because the drinks tasted distinctly of Dawn dish soap. We did not have any table service that I could see, so there's that. Bathrooms were not disgusting but were kind of gross. It was a fine place to start out our night but I'm glad the plan involved moving on to different bars. read more

Horrible service. Nice vibe. But my server was rude. I ordered fried pickles. They were extremely salty. I informed my server and she looked at me and didn't say a word. So I asked if she could make me some more of if not could she take em off my ticket. She said "let me see what I can do" took the food and didn't return until 40 min later. I asked for my check and noticed this picked were still on it. So I asked her about it. She then says "that's just how they come and I can't comp em" so y did she take em? Or y didn't she say that at first? Or come back after she took em to inform me of that. So I asked all those questions. She said. The food is incredible. I try different things every time I visit. Drinks are just as delightful. Have nothing bad to say about this place. One of the few great things about Jackson, Mississippi. read more

Nice relaxed vibe in the place. Great spot to hang out with friends for an evening. We got a bottle of beer we had before and found that it was almost a year old. Pointed it out to the bar keeper and he apologized and took it off the bill without us asking. Staff was polite, and always there when you needed them, but not constantly bothering either. This is a great place to watch football, and have a couple of drinks! The only suggestion I have is to keep improving the quality of food.

Made a trip through the Fondren area of Jackson, looking for a couple very popular new hangouts with some old college bud's. The first stop was Fondren Public. It was packed, but service was quick, attentive, very personable. Great selection of draft beer, nice mixed drinks as well. The Mississippi Mule , made with Honeysuckle Vodka, was very good. Then the food, well, not too shabby. We tried the pub chips, and the Cajun corn dog, and the fried pepper jack cheese with hot and smoky bacon... The Tabasco glaze drove me to drink even more . We wrapped it up with some bocci ball, and let me mention that the outdoor patio was very impressive. I sure wish Jackson had a place like this when I was attending school up here. read more

Great spot for Jackson! It is nice to have a laid-back, classy spot to hang out. There are only a few places with such a good beer selection. The shuffleboard and cornhole games are a plus! read more

Great atmosphere. It's a very cool looking bar with a few food items on the menu. They have a large variety of beer as it is primarily a bar. Dim lights which is nice and a few different sections including a game room. Food is great. read more
