I have been attending prenatal classes with Michelle for almost ten weeks now. I love these classes. If you are a first-time mommy, you will pick a lot of information and insights that come from experience and expertise. The discussions before class also provide an avenue to bond with other mothers in the class. Sometimes they share their experience as second-time mothers. The yoga session for one hour is revitalizing. The interactive dialogue helps to understand how each posture helps during pregnancy and labor. I've never been to a yoga class before so I don't have much to compare to, but even though this is my first time I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. The studio is very small and intimate with a tranquil view outside to the forest. It is quiet and serene, everything you would imagine a yoga studio looking like. The classes are small which I think helps keep you involved and comfortable throughout your experience. Michelle is the sweetest person ever!! She is all smiles and only asks you to do what you feel comfortable doing. And being that these classes can be a mix of beginners and experts, no one feels forced to do a pose they cannot physically achieve. They also provide you with yoga mats in case you didn't bring one. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with Michelle as an instructor, she made me feel comfortable walking in the door for the first time and seems like she cares about her students on an individual level. I attended a few classes with the Groupon I purchased. Unfortunately, my time is up for now. The good thing is that they are always offering some sort of deal. However, being that I just moved here and have very limited funds I am sad to say I cannot sign up for classes at the moment. I have been a customer of Fondin Wellness for a few years. Michelle, the owner/instructor is experienced, knowledgeable and easy to do business with. There are a wide range of classes, however i have been taking the meditation-yoga class which is 30 minutes of meditation with 1 hour of yoga. As a mid-aged woman, this is my speed and go to, but this class is good for all ages. I think it's great for beginners, as they can be intimidated in starting yoga, and this is not intimidating at all. I am not a fan of hot yoga or power yoga, so keep that in mind if that is more your speed, this class is more like traditional Hatha Yoga and Vinyassa Yoga. It's a small class size which is nice so you can actually see the instructor unlike large classes you find at a gym. I have been doing yoga for 11 years, i'm not overly flexible but love the benefits of yoga, it has keep me both physically and mentally in tack as I age. I have been to gyms, yoga studios, and out of private residence, and i prefer anything but the gym, so this is perfect for me. If you're looking for a calming but energizing mind-body experience, The Ayurvedic Path is for you. I typically like more fast-paced yoga classes like vinyasa flow and power yoga offered at gyms, but this experience was something very new and different for me in a good way. It was by far the most calming yoga studio I've been to. Michelle's Meditation and Yoga II class is great to learn the practice of meditation (which I had never tried before but enjoyed) and get your heart rate up through sun salutations. Jackie's Hatha Yoga II was also enjoyable with her calming personality. The Yin Yoga class was a bit too easy, but that's probably a good thing every now and then to be calm and centered. All of the teachers end with a relaxing shoulder adjustment and put a blanket over you during shavasana (a small but nice touch). I would recommend The Ayurvedic Path to those who get overwhelmed by fast-paced yoga studios that are often packed with too many people (the most people I ever had in a class at this studio is 5). I started with Michelle in 2014 at her old studio in herndon. I took prenatal yoga for several months and loved it! I took the class 2 times a week and met some wonderful ladies that I still stay in touch with today! The class was a place I could go and relax, connect with my baby and ask any questions about pregnancy. Learned so much from Michelle's personal stories as well as from others in class about being pregnant and delivering. I currently take barre classes at Michelle's house in franklin farm which are awesome! I like that the classes can be moderate or intense depending on what your body can handle. I have definitely seen more strength in my legs from taking barre. Your whole body gets a good workout from barre classes. It's fun, fast paced and Michelle is such a great instructor! read more

I've been coming here for classes since December (started with a groupon) and have really enjoyed it. All the teachers are very attentive and great about giving you tips and modifications for various poses. I've been going to the beginner's hatha classes and they are a good workout but much more on the restorative side than some of the more high-intensity styles. The Ayurvedic Path Yoga groupon is S&*^!!! My husband bought me three of these and when I called to see what time the prenatal class was I was told that I could not use the groupon for a prenatal class. Being pregnant I am obviously not on top of all the fine print that I use to be. But what makes it worse is the lady on the phone was rude and did not want to work with me. She told me that if I had a problem to call Groupon and was unwilling to help in anyway. Additionally because she said I was pregnant I am not welcome in any of their other classes because I would be considered a liability. I have not even been to this yoga studio but first impressions are everything and this one is far at the bottom of my list. read more

I took Michelle's class from the beginning of my pregnancy and it was one of the best things I did during my pregnancy! Her knowledge of pregnancy and motherhood was enlightening, and the class was set up in an intimate way. It allows you to bond with other soon to be mothers in a peaceful, relaxing environment. I learned about Ayurvedic Path through Groupon. I got a deal for 5 classes for $29. I went to my first class this evening. It was Hatha Yoga with Meaghan. I have never done a yoga class before and when I came in I was delighted to see the small cozy and relaxing studio that opened up to the beautiful woods in the back. Meaghan took her time explaining Yoga to me. Her class was very easy to follow and was a great intro into Yoga. Using the Groupon was not an issue as there are clear instructions on the website on how to use them. After the session, I was so calm and stress free, but another class was coming in and since there is no waiting room, they were trying to get in as we were trying to get out which chaotic and drained my warm fuzzy feeling quickly. read more

I too purchased the Groupon and unfortunately did not take the time to read it through, so when I went to my first prenatal class I was told that it could not be used for the prenatal class but that it would be honored for other classes after I had given birth. I am so happy that I did a drop in prenatal class that evening because it has been so wonderful. It is so nice to bond with other women who are expecting as well as to discuss our situations and experiences. On top of that the location of the studio in the quite wooded area in Reston makes it so relaxing and a real treat. I'm a huge fan of the 30 minute meditation and one hour yoga format. At the end of the day the owner of this studio simply does not understand the value of loyalty. My wife and I were both loyal. Me on a yearly contract and my wife was buying monthly passes three at a time. We were not at all concerned about the cost. The experience was everything. My experience changed and I left. My wife has now realized the truth and reality of why I left and has also moved on to another studio, leaving a few months of prepaid classes behind. It all boils down to a relationship between a business and it's clientele. Michelle doesn't get it! It's a blessing that we have found a superior studio elsewhere which is not focused on contracts and greed but on the customers satisfaction and humanity. More importantly is the contrast between my new studio and this one. Michelle promotes the Ayurvedic Path as a high end studio. Trust me. It's not. It is a cave like space with cheap carpet on the floor. I noticed from the website she is now charging $25 for a walk in and $19.50 per class on a 10 class pass. This is a joke. Far more costly than typical. Other studios are far nicer with better programs for less. All that it took for me to see the truth was to leave and go elsewhere. The truth is out there. Beware of Ayurvedic Path. There is not one shred of concern for its clientele beyond the fees generated. If you care at all about being more than a revenue token don't go here. This business is operating on antiquated values where customers are simply numbers. Any business that fails to have a strong concern for the satisfaction and well being of its customers simply has no right to exist. From what I witnessed, this one is struggling. I have done a class or two of yoga on and off for a few years now so I was new to yoga as far as its concerned. Michelle is warm, caring and very knowledgeable. I was only in town for a short time and needed to get some work outs in. My sister suggested The Ayurvedic Path and I am happy she did. It was unlike other yoga studios I had been to. The small class sizes gave my practice a very personal feel. The space is calming and so is the instructor.
