As someone who loves sports and athletic environments, I always enjoy seeing "new to me" locations, and this place definitely has that classic college atmosphere and history baked into it. I was here for a graduation ceremony, CONGRATULATIONS to the Centaurus Class of 2026, and overall it was a memorable experience. My biggest gripe was definitely the lack of air conditioning, which was acknowledged multiple times during the speeches. Let's just say my internal thermostat was battling for survival by the second half of the ceremony. Still, despite the heat, it was a proud and special day in a uniquely Boulder setting.

While the Buffs may have lost, the event center still offers updated seating, updated scoreboard, and updated CU Buffs decor. The Event Center prides itself on being environmentally conscientious with its water usage, so expect low pressure taps in the bathroom. All staff were very friendly throughout the game. The parking situation is under control and they have it down to a science. Great work Event Center staff. You'll get 'em next time, Buffs!

The venue itself has great acoustics and is a classic music spot where you really get a chance to be up close with the artists. All of the staff are really friendly and accommodating, the food menu is shared with Post next door so they have great food and drink options. The music setup itself, while small, has great acoustics, an easily visible stage and easy access to the bar and bathrooms (always a plus!). I will definitely keep my eyes open for the next show to attend here!

I called ahead to the Veterans Center, and the gentleman I spoke with informed me that they do not offer tours. I found this ironic because the community college I currently attend, as well as several other universities I plan to apply to, have all had veterans centers that were significantly more helpful than CU's. UCLA, for instance, arranged a full campus tour led by a fellow veteran student. After the tour, I had a 30-minute question-and-answer session with the head of the UCLA Veterans Success Center. In contrast, CU's Veterans Center simply told me, "We don't do tours. You can go online and look at our checklist for more information." Based on this experience, I am unlikely to apply to CU. First impressions are everything, and I do not want to be part of an environment that lacks meaningful support for veterans. CU has a lot of room for improvement.

When I tried to get clarification of where to stand because I was standing behind the sign for the movie I was here to see while a line was developing for another movie. When I heard people saying we were all here to see the same movie I went to staff to let them know there was a lot of confusion. Not only did I get ignored but then when I asked them to move the sign to make it more clear I was told that wasn't his job. So frustrating. The films on the other hand get 6 5/5 stars. More than one-half of their team are local college players who are trying to improve their skills in the competitive Rocky Mountain Baseball League against squads from the Denver-Fort Collins-Boulder region. It is an enjoyable experience, quality amateur baseball played in an intimate settling, inexpensive (seats range from $6 and less), and proximity that you cannot get anywhere else. Plus, they offer tasty ballpark food, with grilled hot dogs and burgers plus ballpark snacks like popcorn. I never leave hungry! They are very community oriented, and have various promotions in their schedule. And they sell a cool team hat also! It's a good place for some family fun, or, if you're a baseball connoisseur, it totally works! Parking is available in a lot just south of the complex, there's more available nearby, and offer exclusively bleacher seating. I appreciate the kind customer service and genuine care for their customers by GM Matt Jensen and his staff. The bulk are volunteers, and they seem to enjoy being around the ballpark. The Collegians originated in 1964, and their four National Titles include big league stars like Joe Carter, Jim DeShaies, Tony Gwynn, and Chicago Cubs' manager Joe Maddon.

This gallery is fairly new to Boulder. It is a women's collective housed in an historic Victorian…read morehouse on west Pearl. The also have an annex for maker space and events a few doors further west. Today they had a fundraiser and art display in honor and celebration of International Women's Day. When I saw the announcement that the Handweaver's Guild of Boulder would be in the Annex demonstrating the weaving process and set up for patrons of all ages but especially children to try it out, I knew I had to go. In my younger years, I had been a member of this Guild and had done a demonstration with a group of weavers at the Denver Stock Show in 1975. I was hoping to hear what the Guild is doing now and hopefully run into someone from that era that is still active. And indeed I did. It's amazing work they do and the Gallery in the main building displays weaving as well as so many other arts. Paintings, drawings, jewelry, pottery, fabric designs, handmade cards, all sorts of art objects are to be seen and purchased . It's a very nice space and was very well attended on this holiday on a beautiful spring day. But nice stop in to the gallery anytime and look into the programs they run in the Annex. It's easy to find and there is street parking in the area and a bus stop 2 blocks away. And eateries in the area too.
