I attended the John Summit headline show here and truthfully, I was skeptical coming into it and did not have high hopes. The venue exceeded my expectations. Staff was helpful and kind, despite the chaotic environment. We arrived at 8pm (doors were at 5:30 and John Summit's set started at 9pm) so there were zero lines to get in. My purse was slightly larger than the guidelines but they didn't care, they just did a quick search. Some cons: It was a packed show so lines for the restroom and drinks were extremely long. The restrooms were pretty gross and there was no toilet paper in most stalls. It took forever to get drinks so we got two to bring down into the pit, but they have to open them when they sell them, which meant it was tough to carry through the crowd and I ended up with High Noon all over my jacket lol. We were on field-level so thankfully we didn't deal wit this directly but the bleachers sections looks SCARY, people were standing on the bleachers themselves (the metal) instead of the concrete floor and we saw someone literally fall off the bleacher. Some pros: They had a beer guy walking through the pit between sets so that was kinda nice! I wish I had skipped the line on the concourse and just bought from him lol. Sound quality and production was amazing. I was expecting a bad crowd for a John Summit show on a college campus but our area (center, just in front of the sound booth) was very PLUR and mostly older 20s attendees around our age. Egress was a little tricky coming off the field, but once you were in the stands it was easy going and quick to exit. read more

I've seen two concerts at Folsom field now and both were great in terms of sound, food, and beverage options. My biggest gripe with shows here is the parking, it's very expensive ($40) and not exactly convenient or close to the stadium. Last show, we opted for the flat iron club tickets and it was worth the extra few bucks. The bathrooms were very close by, the chairs had backs, and it wasn't cramped packed. Go Buffalos! My first time to the stadium and I got to witness a victory! I sat in section 105 row 13. It's a tight squeeze, but with the low temperature I didn't mind as it kept me warm. I like how they have vendors both outside the entrance and in a food hall style. It's an older facility that has a sense of nostalgia. I also like how security handled the crowd for the press box folks to get by! My tip for anyone visiting is go early because parking is chaotic and be prepared to get a nice tour of the campus as the field is slightly adjacent to any close parking structures. read more

Really cool stadium to watch some football. Very interesting and unique field house connected to the west stands. There was food, drinks and a few bathrooms inside. Architecture and stadium was stunning when arriving and while at your seat. This place desperately needs some TLC though. Wow! We just saw ODESZA perform here and the performance was my top set to date, life-changing and done in the most beautifully and encompassing way. The photos I'll post says it all. Boulder has stepped up their music scene. The venue however was challenging to navigate and personelle working the event were unfamiliar and unable to guide you to your section or seat. Nonetheless it was an epic experience. Try to plan for a ride home, Boulder was overpowered and Ubers took 3+ hr to pick up after walking miles from the venue's location. But DAMN I'll be on the outlook for more music experiences in Colorado! read more

Bathroom facilities in the Field House are ridiculously bad! Old outdated filthy bathrooms. Instead of spending $10M for the new video board how about renovating the bathroom situation first???? I'm sure the bathrooms aren't like that up in the suites. Only problem is that although these ticket holders pump a boat load of money into the University. Felt like a pretty straightforward classic college football stadium with clean facilities. I think we moved seats towards the end of the game and I think you would pretty much get a great view anywhere you sit here. I came here for a game when they played USC. I can't remember what I ordered to eat, but it was massive and crazy looking (pictured). Just a funny story about the time I went: at half time the Buffaloes were up 17 to 6 versus USC. My girlfriend at the time and I had to use the restroom so I got separated. I can't tell if this guy was drunk or not but some large entitled fan got in my face and yelled OVERRATED! Personally, I think it's really asinine to get into a confrontation or possible physical alteration over a sports game, especially one where I have no personal input on the outcome. So i just rolled my eyes and kept walking. Different strokes for different folks I guess. USC ended up winning the game 27 to 24, lol. I can't remember if they served alcohol or not. We actually went to a local liquor store, found a great bottle of EH Taylor and plastic cups. We filled up our cups and drink it on our walk to the stadium from our parking spot. Good times. It is a nice stadium and definitely would come back to watch games if the opportunity presented itself. read more

At its core, it's a decent historic stadium that has been added on to in phases with new facilities and premium seating without destroying the character. You feel close to the action in just about any seat, and getting in & out is pretty quick and easy. It's a fairly open stadium which means it can't capture much crowd energy, but it does make the views especially when sitting on the east side amazing. But there are some drawbacks that have not been addressed in renovations. The screen is a bit old, and the audio system is terrible, it's hard to understand the announcer even when the crowd is quiet. It definitely wasn't designed with concessions in mind: many are put in the field house, which works ok (though you sort of feel like you left the game), except at halftime when it gets absurdly crowded in there. read more

I was a visiting UCLA alumni and fan and did see my team go down in smoke here. The stadium is really intimate with great sight lines. The sideline area is almost nonexistent which means the players backs are right next to the from row of seats. Good scoreboards for clear replays, aluminum bench seats, natural grass turf. The bathroom situation is terrible. You either had to cross 40 beer lines to get to the one men's room on this side of the stadium or wait in a 30 min. line for four outhouses. The beer lines were 45 minutes line. All of them. Not sure why a really good team at a really fine school, on a gorgeous campus can't accommodate a sold out crowd. Yes, my team lost but a wish I could drown my sorrows in a beer with an empty bladder. read more

So I've been to Folsom many times, it is a beautiful stadium set amongst the gorgeous backdrop of the Flatirons. It is a spacious lovely stadium and it hosts the CU Buffs. I've been to a few games and there is nothing like a lovely college football game :) I'm Canadian and so College football is a lot different where Im from. Lovely bathroom facilities and spacious seating - bring something to sit on- you sit on some benches which could be a bit hard on the posterior. Love the band and the atmosphere - it is a not to be missed event. Love coming here in the fall- it is the perfect Fall activity in Boulder! read more

If you judge a stadium by how good the football team is, then Folsom Field will not be the place for you. The Buffaloes just finished their season 1-11. It was a long, sad fall. My husband and I kept going to the games, even when there was pretty much no chance of us winning. We have each been season ticket holders for 9 years now and we love this place. You can catch an amazing sunset. You get to see Ralphie run around the field twice per game. You can stand shoulder to shoulder with your friends and fellow alum to watch the Buffs mostly lose. It's a nice stadium and a great place to spend your Saturday, it would be five star worthy if our football team could get its act together. read more

I've now enjoyed games at Folsom Field twice. The field is on the outskirts of campus and easy enough to access and park around. It is overlooking the Flatiron mountains, which makes for a majestic setting, Folsom Field has beauty that only nature can provide. There are several concessions to choose from and a trailer full of CU gear parks in front during each game, so the stadium amenities are on par with other places. They also have beer, which is something I can't get at my home stadium, BONUS! The stadium is large relative to the average Pac 12 venues, but it feels quaint, it reminds me of the Rose Bowl, be even more intimate, no bad seats. If you ever have the opportunity to see a game here, you should do it. It's a good stadium to tick off your list, don't miss a chance to see Ralphie the buffalo run around the stadium. We found the CU fans to be friendly and not too unruly, thanks for a good time Colorado. read more

Came here as an away fan of course. It is a quaint, smaller stadium with no really bad seat. The home fans are really nice and they even had a sign in the visiting section welcoming us. The concessions are well priced and there is an indoorish area with large bathrooms. This is nice as it can get cold in Boulder. Depending on where you park, you have to walk up a slight hill to get to the stadium but it is a nice walk. The scenery is beautiful and this is a great place to take in a game. read more

An older stadium has multiple updates over the years past as the team prospered. The intimacy is noticeable in the front row seating area as you can high-five players, coaches and cheer teams. The flatirons are always notable and in the background if seated in the north or east side of the stadium. Newer version of the update eliminates seating to accommodate offices and staff members in addition to the players who use the area adjacent to the new construction indoor center. Considered the third highest elevation for stadiums but there are others in lower divisions that are higher namely western state (university) and northern Arizona. This is a venue of old meets new as bathrooms are dated in most of the initial original buildings used for classrooms but new construction is on the outskirts of the stadium. Once you get past the gates you understand that it's the iconic ON CAMPUS VIBE that attracts people who attend and alumnus. Parking can get crowded but it's worth the tailgating time with family, friends or kids that make it worthwhile. Unfortunately the renovations have eliminated some open spaces but it's relatively easy to get in and out of the area post GAMEDAY. Easy access to multiple highways but a short walk to the iconic HILL AREA where most students try to live and a few bars and restaurants. However, the area has given way to growing apartments and a soon to be hotel so the jaunts to Pearl Street just North after sporting or concerts is the place to unwind. All in all it's an older stadium with set backs but ON CAMPUS and has limitations. As for affordability, for get about it, both tickets and concessions are outrageous and why tailgating is imperative hours before the event. If the team gets back to its winning way of the 1990 Championship season perhaps they will sell out the stadium. A vast majority of the people are students in attendance and some alumni. Parents weekend has a near sellout annually. An entertaining venue of about 50,000 but nothing like that of the Big 10 teams of 80-100,000. Adorable but not affordable and definitely dated. Those wanting top tier accommodations should pay the premium for club seating but again loose out on the FUN in the front 20 rows. Definitely worth catching a few games over time and annually as a student. Lots of changes from the 1950's to current. However, one of a few colleges that sell alcohol in the venue. However, bring your wallet as it gets pricey, real expensive for beverages and getting worse annually as Colorado has one of the more competitive minimum wage hikes that rivals DC and SF. Go for the views or concert as the football team is in a major slump and is noticeable by Q4 when alcohol sales are cutoff and they have a mass exodus. read more

Have only been to the stadium during the Bolder Boulder and have always been impressed at the organization of the entire massive event. It is amazing to see how well timed they have everything. This year they had a little delay but overall a very safe and efficient event. The only thing I would say, is that they need to remodel the restrooms. Those facilities are very old and could use a face lift. Takes away from the amazing iconic structure of the stadium. read more

Folsom Field, home of the Buffaloes! My wife and I made a trip west from Nashville a few years ago to see Georgia play at Colorado. We had a great time touring Boulder as well as Denver. That is such a beautiful part of the country! The Colorado fans were a little uneasy with the behavior of the Georgia fans. While many in Boulder go hiking and enjoy other activities before the game, fans in the south tailgate. This may have been their first introduction to someone setting up a generator and tv to watch College Game Day while eating breakfast! The Georgia fans were all over the campus and they started tailgating early. I had fun interacting with the fans. They have a good time and some very cool traditions. I particularly enjoyed watching their band enter through the field house. The running of their mascot is amazing. It's hard to believe that no one has been killed trying to corral him into his trailer. It's a neat sight though! The best part of the stadium is the location. The view is absolutely beautiful as it sits right against the mountains. If you find yourself in Boulder during the fall, check this place out. It's incredibly unique. read more

I maybe a little biased because I'm a huge CU Buffs fan. I've had season tickets for over 6 years now. I've always loved the stadium because it's very unique compared to other college football stadiums. You can't beat the view of the flat irons background I really hope they don't add another section to that side. Speaking of additions, the new champions center fits right in like it's been there the whole time! The new indoor practice facility is state of the art!! I believe it's the only one to be solar powered which is very impressive!! The biggest pet peeve I have about is the bathrooms. Unless you use the ones by the concessions they are old. Hopefully they find time to update them at some point. Highly recommend checking out a Buffs game because Folsom field is amazing! read more

The best place to watch a football game in the US! Overlooking the stunning Flatiron mountains, Folsom Field has beauty that won't rival anything man-made. It is hard not to get swept up in the location of this stadium to be honest. There are several concessions to choose from and a trailer full of CU gear parks in front during each game. The stadium is large but it feels quaint and there really isnt a bad seat in the house. Be warned that the South end of the stadium is the student section and CU has some rowdy fans! Sitting in the student section is beyond entertaining but maybe not the best place to sit if you actually want to watch the game. Season ticket holders sit on the West side of the stadium, near the opposing team side. If you ever have the opportunity to see a game here, even if you don't care about the teams - GO! read more

One must appreciate the history of this field and its traditions. I love that the student section, which is a free-for-all, goes all the way to mid-field--so if you're willing to stand those are some of the best seats. No Beer = negative 2 stars. Let's just say that I was less than impressed with Folsom Field. I do like two things: it's pretty and there is a Pass Out gate (east side) so that you can leave at half time, chug some beers and then re-enter. However, the goodness stops there. Not only is this stadium windy but it feels way to old and outdated for the campus. If you are unlucky enough to be on the north side you will have a terrible view even though entering and exiting is a breeze. It has typical food items which bores me to tears cuz it's so typical. And...no beer. Granted, I am a spoiled CSU Ram who has grown accustomed to having a brew at my sporting events...but it's just painful to watch a game at this stadium. Even still, I can muster up 2 stars for the minimal positive aspects and the need to be honest. Eons ago I attended a concert there and I enjoyed myself. But as with the football games parking was a nightmare. Prolly won't be back...ever. read more

This is a solid, albeit dated stadium. They try to make it more upscale in the Field House with a variety of food vendors, including StrEAT Chefs and the little homemade donuts. Okay, the latter isn't upscale, but a nice treat. I have been a season ticket holder for several years and really enjoy the overall experience and my ability to see the band and cheer squad with my kids in the Field House before the game and Ralphie down on the field. They do a good job of allowing more access than a typical stadium. If you sit in the East side in the 100 sections North of the 50, you have to deal with the student section, which stands the entire game. Parking is okay, if you don't mind walking. You can pay to park a little closer, but the closest parking is season. While nice to get there, leaving can be challenging. A nice place for game day in an exciting college environment. read more

The banquet hall on the President's level is spacious and the view is incredible! You can see the Flatirons and the field! I want to mention how good the food was for an event that catered to over 300 guests. It was light and fresh. Much more then I ever expected. read more

I had never been to event at Folsom Field until this past Saturday for the game. The stadium is okay, but I've definitely been to better college stadiums. I was also a tad bit annoyed that the concessions appeared to be more costly than most of the professional sporting events in Denver. I certainly hope some of the profits go to help CU. read more
