Musicians, including San Diego's own Billy Watson, perform on stage in an amphitheater, vendor ply their wares, people enjoy the day in the park. Logistics: unless you come early, parking is hard to find within few hundred yards, so make sure your shoes are OK for a half of a mile walk. Entrance is free, many participants will ask for donation to me made for the festival, frequently you would get something in return; a donation of $10 is suggested. The harmonicas tend to provide quite danceable music; concrete dance floor is to the right of the stage. If you plan to dance swing or blues, definitely bring your own lead or follow; due to the community feel of the event inviting a stranger to dance might be challenging, and the skills are likely to be close to zero. Must-see: John Whiteman's collection of harmonicas (small part of it). This is one of the top collections in the world, so some specimens will truly surprise you.

The sound in this place is mesmerizing. Not a bad seat in the entire place. Seats are soft and cushiony - I have sciatica so that matters. Parking is easy enough if you get there 30-45 minutes early. The half star ding is due to the bathrooms not being handicapped accessible enough. There is a handicap stall in the restroom, but because the restroom is so small, it makes difficult for anyone in a wheelchair to enter. They should've built a separate handicap restroom just for the wheelchair accessible, especially since they cater to an older demographic - there were at least six nursing home buses double parked out front after the show. lol Otherwise, I highly recommend seeing shows there

I can't believe this theater is hiding in a nondescript building in the middle of SD. It has such ornate architecture and feels so intimate compared to other larger theatres. It looks like it was recently remodeled, as the exterior lobby area looks very modern. There are a couple entrances, the upper level entrance is on Seventh Ave., and the lower level entrance is on B Street. There are bars to purchase drinks on both levels, although lines were SUPER long. The B Street Entrance allows you to enter Knead bakery where you can buy coffee drinks, as well as pastries. While drinks are allowed in the theatre, food is not, so finish eating before you go in. The ushers are very helpful and one usher spent most of her time helping people take pictures in front of one of the signs. Although one lady on the lower level needs more training on seat locations. I purchased seats for our family, with my son in a handicap seat and his brother in the companion seat, and the rest of us in a different section. We showed her our seat numbers, and she put my 2 sons in an area in the lower level and sent the rest of us upstairs. I then got a call from my son saying that the usher said they were in the wrong seats and needed to move and go upstairs, so I had to run back downstairs and bring them upstairs. Luckily one of the supervising ushers saw us and helped us find our seats and graciously allowed our whole family to sit together in the handicap seating area. SD is so lucky to have such a special venue! If you have an opportunity to attend a show here, go!

Merch and drink lines also went quick. Parking Garage 6 was like... dead. I paid ahead and no issues. I suppose most people use Garage 3? I dunno. This is a winner winner chicken dinner in my book! I'd call this a medium-ish (lower end of medium) event location. (Casinos would be small, stadiums would be large. Garth Brooks hosting stadiums would be XL. Lol) This all said, the steep stairs were shocking. I'm glad there wasn't pushing or shoving or anything crazy. Because I could definitely see someone falling. The only other time I've been concerned like this is when I had top section outfield tickets at Petco. (To give reference.) DEFINITE RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!
