Ashley is so kind and accommodating. She really knows her music genres and she really wants to make sure that your wedding or event is the best experience possible. We had some weather changes and, while they made things a little more complicated for her, she was confident and reassuring that she would make sure it would be seamless and perfect for us, which it was! DJ Dan and Fog City Entertainment were amazing to work with and helped bring the party at our wedding!! From the outset, FCE was easy to work with - they were among the most communicative in the planning process, answering all of our questions promptly and thoroughly. That was great, as we've never hired a DJ before and had LOTS of questions. It made the decision to hire FCE really easy. Top notch communication continued in the weeks leading up to our wedding. We wanted to include my cousin, who is a musician, in the ceremony music, and he was able to communicate directly with DJ Dan who made it really seamless to include him. At the wedding itself, DJ Dan was flexible and rolled with any changes (aka delays) to the timeline, and was responsive to our requests. And he had the dance floor bumping, which was our hope!! I knew my friends would dance, but wasn't sure about my husband's friends or some of our family. I told Dan that my goal was to have all generations on the dance floor, and he made it happen - right up to the end of the evening! We even decided to pay overtime and go past our original end time because the party was still hopping at 10 pm, thanks to Dan! Overall, DJ Dan and FCE met every expectation we had and just made the whole process easy, which is such a blessing during wedding planning - there are so many details to keep track of; it was great to feel like we were in safe hands and didn't have to worry on the music front. Ashley and her team did an amazing job making sure our day was perfect! She kept the night flowing along perfectly and made it seem effortless. She is definitely skilled in her work. I am impressed, not only by her skill, but her professionalism. From our initial Zoom consultation, to mid-way communication to coordinate our monogram, to the end of the reception, I felt like we were in good hand and would not be disappointed. And we weren't! Ashley even maneuvered around this little "situation" perfectly: My Dad professionally recorded a song to a CD (yes a CD) for our first dance, as a surprise. When my fiancé reached out to Ashley to try and coordinate the switch from the song that we had planned to dance to, to my Dad's professionally recorded song, they ran into a hiccup. No CD player. Not a problem! Ashley was easily able to make a work around for this and had my fiancé deliver the CD to one of her colleagues who burned it to an MP3 so they could play it at our reception. We booked Ashley for our wedding after interviewing a couple other DJs and and loved her personality and professionalism. She was very responsive and helpful with any questions and her breadth of experience made her an absolute breeze to work with, from start to finish. She asks the right questions to ensure she has what she needs from you to be successful and she offers an online portal for you to upload the music you'd like. We found the portal quite helpful, since the forms you need to fill out pose a lot of questions you might not have thought about, like how you want your wedding party to be introduced during their grand entry. A few weeks before our wedding day, Ashley had a call with us to review everything we filled out in the form and to make sure she had everything she needed from us. Once wedding day came along, her and her assistant knew exactly what to do and never had questions for us. She helped keep the day moving with announcements and we trusted her completely. Anyone who's been to at least 2-3 weddings knows that they're only as good as their DJ/MC. Ceremony not properly mic'd up? Music cues late/missing? Yikes. Dance floor dead due to poor song selection? YIKES. With Fog City Entertainment, I can say, conclusively, that my wife and I got an A+ DJ and, subsequently, an A+ wedding...especially given what COULD'VE happened! We were initially set to have Ashley as our ceremony MC/DJ. Before the wedding, she was a wonderful partner: she was flexible with our asks, communicative over email, allowed us to submit our own playlist for both dinner and dancing without concern, and extremely reassuring. While we were PUMPED to have her, unfortunately, she got COVID the day before our wedding...EEK! Luckily, Ashley and Fog City exhibited incredible professionalism and crisis-response by last-minute setting us up with a different DJ, DJ Jose. Jose, on literally a day's notice, was briefed on everything he needed to know from Ashley and made the long drive to our somewhat-remote venue on-time. Music was the biggest thing we cared about for our wedding - so much that we booked a club. We were recommended to Ashley from two other friends that engaged her for their wedding. She was professional and so easy to talk to, to us and while she was working with other vendors. She was responsive and catered to our every need, was able to meet last minute changes; no matter what was thrown her way, she had a solution. There was a variety of dj options and sample sounds to hear from. Her platform was easy to use and navigate, with seamless integration with Spotify. Our DJ for the day was DJ Jose - we and the guests absolutely loved him. He took all of our specific instructions and executed perfectly. DJ Sampson was the DJ for our wedding this past weekend and I have nothing but great things to say! From start to finish he was professional, timely, and organized. He showed up on time, worked great with our MC (he can also MC fyi) and everything went smoothly. Our wedding package with Fog City Entertainment included music and floor lights. Fog City made planning the music for our wedding very easy. Jose Sanchez is hands down, without a doubt, the best DJ ever! He is extremely professional, responds to any and all of your messages and questions in a timely manner. He also gives great suggestions and ideas, things I never even thought about. He also provides additional services like custom monograms, up lighting and fog machines. Ashley and her crew at Fog City came highly recommended to us by our equally amazing reception venue team at OVY Camp. Our wedding coordinator also independently recommended her-- and they were both totally right. We were looking for a DJ who could handle more than one location (ceremony site and reception site) in the middle of the forest-- she delivered. We wanted a DJ who understood our taste in music, understood the vibe we were looking for, who we could hand that responsibility to and forget about it -- she totally delivered. We gave specific song requests for certain moments throughout the ceremony and reception using Ashley's planning tool, and then we just shared a bunch of spotify playlists with her and said "This is the music we like and vibe with. This should give you a sense of who we are. Can you keep people dancing all night?"  She nailed it.  She had the dance floor packed the ENTIRE NIGHT. Years after FCE DJ'd my wedding, I got to enjoy their music again at a socially distanced, COVID-compliant event. Even though the situation was a different experience for me, the quality of the playlist and the way it was managed (by DJ Ashley this time) was just as awesome as when I worked with their company years ago; she took requests (I blasted her with all the 90's pop hits I could think of) and kept the music low-key enough for conversations to happen, even at a distance. DJ Julio Loli did an awesome job as the DJ and emcee for our wedding at Piedmont Community Hall and created the perfect soundtrack for our day. Julio was extremely professional and helped us secure the more obscure music that my now husband requested for our ceremony entrances. He made sure the reception flowed smoothly through the cocktail hour and into the first dances, our money dance and cake cutting. Our guests loved dancing to his music especially when he switched to Latin music and got all of my husband's family on the dance floor. So many of our guests asked us where we found such an amazing DJ. One of our flower girls even cried when we had to end the evening since she still wanted to keep dancing! Also, DJ Sonny from Fog City managed the photo booth. We are so glad we added the photo booth and it made it incredibly easy that Sonny and Julio were from the same company with so much experience working at our venue. I'm an event planner and hired Mike S. at Fog City to design the lighting for a top shelf Bat Mitzvah party! He was amazing! He visited the venue 2 times before the event, did everything we wanted and more. His equipment is as good as it gets. He knows his craft well. Mike is a delight to work with and timely getting back with emails. He was stayed during the party to make sure everything was good and nothing needed his attention. I found Fog City and Mike S as a referral from out caterer/florist/coordinator Culinary Excellence and I could not have been more pleased. Mike was awesome and even though we never went over anything (except sending them my song choices), everything went incredibly smooth. Mike was great as an MC and a DJ and a bit of a coordinator, keeping us on schedule since I literally never knew what time it was the whole wedding. We did the DJ/ Photobooth package which was great and people loved the photobooth. It was nice and bright with better photo quality than I had seen others have so I was happy. I would also highly recommend them if you have very specific music you want played. I'm 99% sure that Fog City didn't have 85% of the songs we wanted. We had a Disney-esque wedding with the music for disneyland park playing during cocktail hour and the jazz versions of songs from the Carthay restaurant as our dinner music and I walked down the aisle to a song that was never released and only on Youtube but they found them all and they were all the correct versions. Mike DJ'ed our wedding a couple weeks ago and he and Fog City are so wonderful on so many levels. First, we were able to book our DJ, photobooth, and wedding planner in one package (all through Mike), which made things much easier on the planning end. I'm not sure if he always offers this type of package, but if it's still available by the time you read this, you should consider it! It's always nice to work with vendors who know each other and are comfortable working together. I was really happy with our decision to book all of these services through Mike. Second, Mike is super organized and has developed various tools to help him gather all the information he needs to MC and DJ a couple's wedding. I really liked how he expanded upon our dinner playlist and selected music for dancing that was in line with our overall taste. Several of our family and friends commented both on how lovely the dinner music was - specifically how it contributed to the overall ambiance of the event - and on the great selection of dance tunes. Mike was just fun! He knew how to read the crowd and he played some songs that I have never heard at a wedding before - and that's exactly what we wanted! Third, Mike helped us to incorporate a couple of live musical acts - a horn trio for the ceremony led by my husband's cousin and my husband's dad for the reception, who sang and played our first dance on guitar. The inclusion of live music was very important to us, and the transitions between live music and DJ'ed music were all seamless, thanks to Mike. Well done! Finally, Mike is kind, humble, and a seasoned professional. I can't tell you how many weddings I have been to where the DJ seams completely uninterested in reading the crowd and turns a couple's wedding night into his/her own personal musical journey. I respect an artist, I really do, but wedding music should focus on genres, artists, and songs that the couple and their guests enjoy! They were super easy to work with, communicative and generally wonderful. Sonny, the DJ, was fantastic- he has great energy and had lots of good ideas for our various special songs (cake cutting, first dance, etc). Hayley, the wedding coordinator, was equally wonderful. It ended up pouring rain on our wedding day, and we had planned on an outdoor ceremony. Hayley handled the changes with aplomb and everything went extremely smoothly despite the last minute change in venue. I wasn't overwhelmed by the lighting, but this was more a function of the event space (Fort Mason's conference center) and not of the lighting so I don't fault Fog City on this. I hired Russ Catanach for my wedding. The company is on the preferred vendor list at the reception hall. I hired him after he DJ my company holiday party. My husband and I were flexible with the music. I made all my payments to him via fax. He was always available via email when ever I had a question. I I mailed him an extensive list of music and asked him to be the MC at the reception. He was well spoken on the microphone. He was able to get everyone attention for all the announcements. He also knew how to get our guests dancing and having a good time. My family loves to dance disco swing and surprisingly the electric slide. Russ was prepared with his music and had our guests dancing till the lights came on. He did a great job going with the flow and feeling the crowd. From very little info that we gave him, Mike played just what we wanted to hear and had just the right amount of talking to usher along the night. Wedding DJs are weird. We talked to a lot of DJs and many just didn't fit into the fun/casual but still tasteful vibe we wanted for our wedding. We probably spent more time picking a DJ than any other vendor (and were sort of amazed at how hard it was!) So when we found Mike we were really grateful. He's a pro - easy to deal with, confidence-inspiring and still fun in the way you want a DJ to be. He dealt with all our requests taught us a few things about how our wedding day might flow and listened carefully to understand what was important to us. Also - he'd coincidentally worked with our coordinator before (we selected them separately) and they did a bunch of coordination behind the scenes that made everything seamless. We had Fog City DJ Joe Borgonia for my parents' golden wedding anniversary and everything was perfect. Fog City was very communicative prior to the event. Joe showed up early, got all his equipment set up, and also provided and taped to the floor an extension cord for the projector that we also rented from them. Joe complied perfectly with our two most important requirements: 1. Keep the volume at a level conducive to conversation. This was especially important given that we had an older crowd. 2. We booked Fog City Entertainment for our wedding. We purchased a DJ + Day of Coordination package and loved it! The DJ was fantastic. He played exactly the music we wanted to hear before we even knew we wanted to hear it. He did an amazing job not only keeping his finger on the pulse of the group, but satisfying us, the bride and groom, with our requests. At our behest, he played disco, gypsy jazz, be-bop, hard bop, hip hop, and house music. In addition, he MC'd the event and did a great job signaling and announcing to the guests when it was time to progress to the next 'event' (first dance, garter toss, cake cutting, etc). We did have to fill out a form about the order of events but that was not too inconvenient and it's completion meant our reception was super smooth. Our day of coordinator was Stacey Dillon. There's also a very large catalog of songs to already choose from, and it was nice to browse the top songs to get some ideas for our own event. I ended up sending over some songs to him personally that weren't included and we just used Dropbox so that was super easy too! Mike was incredibly responsive by email, which is helpful when you are busy planning a million of other things for a wedding. Our wedding ended up having day-of last minute changes and I emailed Mike several hours before the wedding to check if he could play some additional songs and he was super accommodating and very flexible to these changes! He helped make the last minute change seamless and not a big deal at all-- which is tremendously helpful for any anxious bride! I highly recommend Fog City Entertainment, specifically Mike. Russ was the DJ at our wedding in Napa a few weeks ago. He was fabulous -- professional, courteous and knowledgeable. We enjoyed working with him from the beginning -- we knew we wanted someone who was low-key, not a grand-stander. He was quickly able to understand our tastes in music and expectations for the evening. Russ worked well with our wedding day coordinator and also gave us some good suggestions on how to adjust our timeline to make the event flow seamlessly. He really knows his stuff and is able to read a crowd. Very good at keeping people dancing. He also was on the microphone very little selectively making announcements only when necessary. We also wanted to do the anniversary dance instead of the typical bouquet toss and he had some great music selections for that dance to kick off the evening. Ashley was our DJ for our wedding last month and she was *perfect*. Most DJs just come and play the general type of music you want. Ashley went above and beyond. Our first dance was a bootleg live version of a song that we had on mp3 and she helped make it sound perfect on the speakers. We sent her a list of less common songs we wanted played at the dinner and cocktail hour and she not only found them all, but put them together in the perfect order. We literally had people coming up to our sweetheart table at dinner to tell us how amazing the music was. And after the wedding people even commented how it was really cool to have Tom Waits and less popular Rolling Stones songs played, as well as more indie artists. Ashley was super professional, from the minute we met her. We didn't really even fill out the "do not play" list they have -- we just told her what type of music we didn't want (anything that we didn't want our grandmothers to dance to -- so no "baby got back" etc, and nothing cheesy/YMCA) and she totally got it.
