We inquired via his website which was super easy - the usual information requested along with a short questionnaire so he can gauge what kind of services/vibes we're going for. The response turnaround was less than an hour! We love a quick turnaround :) --- We officially booked him in December with a February photoshoot day. He provided a link to his session guides to help with outfits and general details - this was super helpful & answered a lot of our initial questions. I sent him a bunch of inspo pics that I really liked to help him with the vibe we were going for. He ensured that he would make our pictures special to us but he really appreciated the inspo. We opted for a Downtown Modesto photoshoot (we're locals) - McHenry Mansion, The Intermission, State Theater (we paid for a message on the marquee to read "COMING SOON: The Marinos!") We also wanted to include our pup in one of our pictures and Will was more than happy to accommodate, he even gave us a recommendation of keeping our pup's leash to a neutral color (no reflective leashes or bright colors) because they tend to distract in photos. I never would have thought about that! Sooooo for photoshoot day came &&& he made us feel so comfortable. We aren't the best posers, but he was so patient - he gave us directions when needed but he wanted us to just be ourselves & relax. My husband (fiance at the time) isn't a person that enjoys being in front of a camera but at the end of the session he literally said "he made a guy who hates taking photos very comfortable," & let me know tell you - that speaks volumes! He would show us previews on his camera throughout the session & they were already amazing so we were excited to see everything he captured. We didn't have to wait long to see our pictures because he got it edited & sent in literally a day, maybe 2 but WOWZERS - WILL HAS A GIFT & our pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL! He definitely has an eye & after following his work for years, it was so cool to finally see us through his lens. He did not disappoint! The warmth of his photos and the way he is able to catch all the candids. So awesome. We ended up using his pictures for our Save the Dates, on our wedding website, and sprinkled them throughout our wedding decor :) Will is not only an amazing photographer, he is also a great person. He was not only extremely professional but he was so helpful with all kinds of wedding planning, even from day one! He was familiar with the area we were getting married in and sent over a few galleries for us to see what he had photographed previously in these areas. We were originally going to split coverage with 2 days of shooting. Will had helped us plan the logistics and timing for both days to ensure we get the best light for photos each day. As with most 2020 weddings, we had to make many changes to our day (and eventually condensed it down to one day with only family) and Will, yet again, helped us plan out a new timeline to ensure that we got all the shots we wanted. We even were able to take a small trip to a different location for our First Look. It is very obvious that Will has been doing this a long time as he has an eye for detail. He helped around the venue on the day of; helping our florist tie down our decorations and being sure my dress was stored safely! My whole family loved Will's friendly disposition and soft-spoken nature. He is overly kind-hearted and he brought out the best in us! Will went above and beyond his duties as a photographer and an artist. He not only captured our special day so we could share it with those that weren't able to join but he gave us well-thought-out works of art that my husband and I will cherish forever. I researched for hours and started emailing the list of potential photographers I had gathered for quotes and more information. Cori responded quickly, was super friendly and reasonably priced. She offered to meet us in person for a free consultation so we could get to know each other more and show us samples of her work. I'm very much an organizer and planner, so when we met Cori and she pulled out some checklists and worksheets to help her keep track of our wishes and also educate us on how she works, I was smitten! A couple months later, we had our engagement photo session with Cori at Sutro Baths in San Francisco. Cori is so nice and personable - my husband and I are shy in front of the camera and she made us feel comfortable right away. A couple weeks later we received an online gallery of our pictures and were in love! Cori was able to capture our happiness and silliness towards each other perfectly in each picture. Leading up to the wedding day, Cori helped me put together a day-of timeline that incorporated a few elements we had to have - a first look, sunset photos, and a first dance with guests holding sparklers. On the wedding day, Cori arrived at the agreed upon time. Everyone liked her right away and she worked very well with our videographer. About 4 weeks later, we received an online gallery with our pictures. I am thrilled with how each one looks and love Cori's style that fit so well with our venue. They provide excellent service and gorgeous photos for incredibly reasonable prices. My husband and I first asked them to do a nice couples portrait for us on the UC Berkeley campus. We had never done any sort of portraits before (y'know, beyond those stiff, cheesy school photos back in the day), so we were a little nervous to start. Justin and his wife/assistant Dana immediately put us at ease with their friendly, professional manner. After a few shots my husband and I relaxed, and we got some wonderful photos to share as Xmas gifts (and yes, we even did some cheesy poses for fun). We came back to them a few years later for newborn photos for our first child. We arranged for them to visit us in the hospital, and I treasure those pictures above all others taken in that period. I had a difficult and unpleasant experience in the hospital (but that's for another Yelp review), but when I look at Justin's beautiful photos all I remember were the good moments, and how much Justin and Dana's calm, friendly visit cheered me up. They came to our home a few weeks later for part two of our newborn portrait package. Again, their bright manner made the afternoon special and fun. They did some lovely "candid" shots of us feeding our baby, then some more posed shots of the baby with some fun props they'd brought. As parents themselves, they know how to calmly and easily deal with a little newborn, and our little guy was as relaxed as a month-old could be. The pictures turned out AMAZING.
