Had cataract surgery with Dr. Khine. It was completed with skill, efficiency and gentleness. The outcome has been outstanding!

Absolutely amazing in every single way. Dr. Bryan Jones and Dr. Khine, I love you! I came here on Friday because I had been having extreme intermittent pain and irritation in both of my eyes, and it felt like my eyes had a foreign body sensation in them and pain that went all the way to the back of my eyeballs despite nothing being in there, and couldn't even open my eyes in the morning anymore because they were glued shut by discharge from whatever was going on. What made matters worse is that the antibiotic Polytrim eyedrops that were prescribed to me by my Kaiser urgent care were not working for me even after almost one week of use and my eyes were only getting worse to the point where my vision was even getting blurry and I could not focus on anything else, which was a little scary and concerning to good friends who urged me to get seen by an opthalmologist right away. This is when I found the absolutely brilliant godsend of an angel Dr. Bryan Paul Jones on Yelp and am so so so so so grateful that I went to them. From now on I dont want to go to anyone else! I now appoint him my opthalmologist for life Lol. I called to explain my situation and they were willing to see me on the same day and made the entire process so pleasant amd seamless. The front desk receptionist Samantha was a sweetheart, and when I went in to see the wonderful Dr. Bryan Paul Jones, and I have so much praise for him because he is SO incredibly smart but also extremely compassionate and detailed. He did a very thorough and comprehensive, detailed exam with various different machines and techniques and really looked at every aspect of my eyes. It turns out that Kaiser urgent care had incorrectly diagnosed me, and Dr. Jones broke down in detail exactly what it was that was going on with my eyes (would be long to explain here and my review is already super long lol) and prescribed me medications that INSTANTLY i could feel the difference in direction the next day. Also, during the exam, I was seen together both by Dr. Jones and Dr. Khine who was also a sweetheart and was helping him out (isnt that incredible? I even got two wonderful doctors for the cost of one tehe). One of the biggest things I appreciated the absolute most and what made me want to write this review and be a long term client of Dr. Jones is his desire to truly spend time with his patients as much as possible and really helping them understand everything about their eyes, its condition/findings, and addressing all possible questions or concerns. From what I found out he used to have a clinic in NY where at least 60-70 patients would come to see him a day because he is so good, but he came here to LA to start this clinic because he wanted to spend alot more time with his patients, which is exactly what he did for me. It turns out that on top of my current diagnosis that he is treating me for, I found out other things about my eye that is very important to catch early on (early onset glaucoma in my right eye) and if it werent for the thorough examination he did for me, it would go undetected for many years (which is usually how glaucoma goes) until damage would have been done enough to notice. He also understands the costs of out of pocket care so him and Dr. Khine also offered me coupons in case extra prescriptions were needed (these medications can be very pricey) and they also gave suggestions on different treatments and products and what they would do for the eye, and things to avoid as well (such as not getting eyedrops that dont say "preservative free", and all this time, ive been being prescribed preservative eyedrops in the past from OTC pharmacies and general doctors without even knowing the cons). He even told me about the nerve loops of axenfeld and pigmentation levels in my eye which really helped me understand what those funny looking things were in my eye for many years that i never understood lol. He is so incredibly smart intelligent, compassionate, patient, and so kind, and Dr. Khine was also so sweet, helpful, gave me wonderful suggestions and product recommendations, and amazing as well. Their out of pocket cost is also extremely reasonable for the incredible quality of service and professionalism that they provide. Absolutely incredible. Now my only fear is that leaving this review will have more people flock to the clinic and potentially steal any precious minutes i have with them lol jk, but they absolutely deserve the acknowledgement for the time and quality care they want to provide! read more

Dr Jones was the first doctor to get to the bottom of my long lasting eye issues. He is the only person I will trust to make incisions on my eyes. The office got me in right away and was extremely clean. Dr Jones pays attention to detail and is super gentle. 10/10 experience, I would recommend this place to anyone who needs help with their eyes. read more

Everything is amazing about Focus Eye Center! After inquiring about scheduling an appointment through their website, I received a prompt email the following morning. Tiffany was so accommodating and helpful making an appointment that worked with my schedule. Dr. Khine is absolutely wonderful. Not only is she so sweet but she thoroughly addressed all my concerns and answered all of my questions. She even answered my fiancé's questions and gave him recommendations on a question he had regarding his vision. Even though the office was short on staff and busy, Dr. Khine was very thorough on her exam and she was even able to remove my chalazion during my visit so I didn't have to come back the next day. Let me start by saying this office is the most professional and caring office. They care about there patients and take the time to explain everything in detail. My husband was having trouble seeing, so we were recommended to Dr. Khine by his optometrist in Glendora Dr. Silva. Dr. Silva made a call and Dr. Khine and Dr. Jones got him right in. We were seen within a few days on 10/7/22. Once we got there they determined he had cataracts. My husband had not been to a doctor by his choice. So Dr. Jones and Dr. Khine called around to get my husband in to see a primary doctor and have bloodwork done to make sure nothing was going on with his eyes. We found out he had diabetes. They went way beyond what most doctor's would do. My husband had surgery on 10/19/22 on right eye and left eye on 10/26/22. Dr. Khine recommended the Clareon Vivity lenses that are out of pocket but they are so worth it. If you can afford it I would definitely make the choice. My husband is loving his new sight 20/20 vision, and can see everything so clear. He said the colors are amazing. All this happened within a month time and they walked us through every step of the process. They are truly gifted and talented Doctors. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! Dr. Jones restored my vision after another surgeon implanted the wrong iol lenses in my eyes and told me it could not be fixed. I have a very high prescription, and was told by the other dr that my only option was monovision or correction for only for near or far (after they operated and made my situation worse than it was in contacts and glasses). I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Jones. He found multifocal lenses in my prescription, and was very thorough and thoughtful explaining the risks, procedure and backup plan before exchanging the lenses. Though the procedure was more high risk than the initial lens implant, Dr. Jones did it successfully. I thought I would never be able to see well again, but thanks to Dr. Jones I don't have to think about my vision anymore or wear contacts or glasses. I sure wish I had gone to him first! His office is also very clean and contemporary, and his team is very friendly and professional. They really pay attention to patient's individual needs, which is very different from what I experienced with the previous 2 surgeons I saw for vision correction. read more

After battling a chronic eye infection for 6 months, I was referred to Dr. Jones by a neighbor. I was able to get in that same day for an appt. which was key since I was experiencing an issue then, and couldn't wait several weeks to be seen (which is what I feared I would be told when I called for an appt.). Dr. Jones spent the necessary time to listen to my eye health history, and gave me a thorough exam before sharing his diagnosis of my issue. He was incredibly gentle and I did not experience any discomfort during the exam. His demeanor and manner were absolutely delightful and personable...a rare occurrence in today's medical community. His assistant, Madeline was very pleasant and welcoming, and even his partner Dr. Khine introduced herself when I arrived, making me feel very comfortable and at ease. I left my appt. with a great sense of relief, having been given a clear explanation of my issue, as well as course for treatment and remedy. I cannot recommend Dr. Jones and Focus Eye Center highly enough, and will continue to see him for all my future eye care needs. read more
