Bouldering area
Nicole R.

I climb here occasionally for ladies night - $10 day pass on Wednesdays - which is amazing! While the gym is smaller, they set so densely that there are still a lot of routes. They have a wall of autobelays and a wall of bouldering as well as a small fitness area. The front desk staff are always friendly.

Me and my family would like to try something new and active . It look intimidating in the beginning but the owner Joe walk us through and his very patient with beginners and make you feel comfortable and welcoming. We had so much fun and people around seems good. Gym is clean and new.

Ask the Community - Focus Climbing Center

Is this a good place for kids to climb who have never been climbing before?

Absolutely!!!! I first took my son there when he was 4 years old and there were younger kids there! The auto belays will totally relieve your (or the child's) worries and there are super easy routes for beginners!

He tailored the trip specifically to my needs and mixed the trip with some great climbs, awesome pointers, and an easy-to-remember overview of how to rig a safe system for a solo climb (something that is pretty specialized and not necessarily easy to find good info on). Caleb was such a knowledgable dude. So knowledgable that another instructor from a different climbing company started asking him for tips! I felt totally safe while also being encouraged to take my climbing to the next level. I would recommend to all!! Children and old people, inexperienced and pros, and also every one in between. People don't necessarily come to a rage room just to have fun and break things. Some people are dealing with tremendous grief, trauma, anger, stress, or the loss of someone they love, and an experience like this can provide a much-needed emotional release. Unfortunately, I felt the customer service and overall experience were lacking. The check-in process could definitely be more organized and welcoming, and there was very little effort made afterward to ask whether we enjoyed ourselves or had a good experience. Even though the business is centered around breaking things, basic kindness, enthusiasm, and customer service still matter. I also learned that many of the items being broken are used items that have been donated or obtained from thrift stores. What concerned me most was being told by an employee that staff members sometimes pick through donated items and select things they want for themselves before the items make it onto the floor. I obviously cannot speak to the company's policies regarding donated merchandise, but hearing that made me uncomfortable and raised questions for me about how donations are handled. There is a lot of potential here, and the actual idea behind this business is great. I simply think management could significantly improve the experience by focusing more on customer service, creating a warmer and more compassionate environment, and making sure donated items are handled transparently and appropriately. For some customers, this isn't simply about smashing a television or breaking a plate. It may be an outlet for something incredibly painful they're carrying. A little compassion and genuine human interaction could turn this from simply a place where people break things into an experience that actually helps people leave feeling a little lighter.

I came here a few days ago looking for vertical ascend gear out of caves. I was greeted by Jason and he was really helpful and knowledgeable. I needed very specific gear, and Jason was very patient with me and showed me where I could find sit harnesses, chest harness, chest ascender, hand ascende, foot loops, etc. I didn't find exactly what I needed but got a good idea on the things I need to build a personalized vertical gear set for myself. And of course, while I was looking for cave gear, I wandered around looking at all the fabulous gear they have, I was like a kid in a candy store. I could spend hours in here. I started looking at hydration packs as I need to replace mine and found a very nice military edition and will come back to purchase this soon. I also saw plenty of Petzl bags, and very tempted to purchase another. They also carry so much Petzl gear, you will be in heaven here. Also, some great hiking shoes and some sleek, but we'll performing water shoes. I then wandered into kayaks and Jason even showed me the Padillac they have! I've gotten into paddleboarding and kayaking for the summer and now want one of each! This place rents them and sells them. I then went to check out some wetsuit gear, and they have a really nice selection of wetsuits, gloves, booties, etc. I really love this place and it is definitely gonna bankrupt me, but so worth it. High quality gear, more extensive selection than REI and the staff here know what they are talking about. If you need something specialized, this is the place for you. I'll be back here soon!

I came in knowing nothing of yoga at all (in the physical practice of it). I did feel a little as if it was about the whole program rather than acknowledging some of us really are there to deepen our own practices. I believe it was the first class that we were writing letters for when we completed the program... this had me feel it was necessary to enroll in more than I had intended. The instructor was great, the classmates were great, but... I certainly felt it wasn't for basic entry level yoga, beginners. However, maybe it was just me? I decided to pull out while I was still able and deepen my own practice on my own. As for yoga classes, in 1 hr intervals? I have to admit, I have no experience beyond attending the program itself, since it is a yoga school.

Yoga spaces are typically rooted in kindness, mindfulness, and approachability, so it is disappointing to encounter communication or the lack of, that feels unwelcoming. This is not a once in a while experience, this happens every time I visit the studio. Sometimes I wish I didn't have to interact with her before entering my class as my vibe is completely shifted. She's short, she seems extremely irritated, she seems as though she would like to be anywhere but there, she does not smile, when you ask questions she makes you feel stupid, and when someone says thank you or have a good day she flat out ignores you. I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to better align staff interactions with the values the studio represents, especially someone sitting at the front desk. If this is the behavior the studio knowingly allows, I may have to cancel my 3 year long membership.
