Very quick and courteous service for a new garage entry fob, with a receipt if it does not work perfectly.

I had to get two keys and a fob copied urgently. FobToronto was able quickly and easily make the copies of all three in under 10 minutes. The service was quick and painless. I was able to confirm that they could make copies of my keys and fob through their website which was extremely easy to navigate and understand. It took me longer to walk to their location from my office (15 min) then it was to get the items copied. Even had time to enjoy lunch! I was told by other places that I wouldn't be able to get my mailbox keys duplicated but not this place. It's awesome now to have backup keys. The service was very quick. I actually called the place ahead of time but no one picked up. I was mainly going to ask if they're open and I received an automatic text with their hours of operation. Key didn't work (City key). They refunded me which is good. When I went to pay (on machine via credit card), they asked for a tip. But, why are you asking my to tip on a key service? Outrageous, especially since this takes literally less than 5 minutes. Get rid of that option - it gives me the perspective that you don't pay your employees fairly. I've been here before too and I'm certain they didn't ask for tips before. I've been to other key stores before and none ask for tips. Won't be coming back here and recommend you to go to another store. There's another store down the street on 13 Hayden called Fob and Key that I've been to and would recommend that place. read more

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service provided at FobToronto. Last night, I visited your store and had a key copied by one of your employees. I was not offered any receipt for the transaction. Upon returning home, I discovered that the copied key did not work. In an attempt to rectify the situation, I sent my boyfriend to the store the following morning to inquire about a replacement. However, he was met with a different employee(female, refused to give us her name) who refused to provide assistance without a receipt. Given the lack of documentation provided to me during the initial transaction, I requested to speak directly with the employee via video call to address the issue. However, to my disbelief, I was informed that she refused to communicate with me (Asian female) and insisted on speaking solely to my boyfriend (white male). She even said to my boyfriend if I came over to the store she will refuse to copy the key for us. This blatant disregard for customer service and the discriminatory treatment I received leads me to believe that this is a race-related issue. It is absolutely unacceptable that in 2024, such discrimination and incompetence persist in a multicultural city like Toronto. *Update for the reply: Thank you Paul for the reply. I want to let you know the situation better. I was on the video call with your employee, I wasn't yelling at all. I didn't know why she think I was yelling and didn't even bother to talk to me or look at me. She didn't even communicate with me for one second or ask me to lower my voice (even though I wasn't yelling at all) she just ignored me. I'm deeply upset with her saying that she will refuse to copy the key for me if I came over instead of my boyfriend. That sounds racism to me even if she doesn't mean it that way. I have nothing against your business Paul I hope you can educate your employee to be more aware of what they say. and I do hope she can apologize to me. Could have been better. Inaccurate information. Poor communication. Unprofessional service.

After I made my appointment Paul followed up almost immediately and stayed in touch all the way through until we met. I had a bad customer experience elsewhere and he let me vent a bit. Through all my venting, picked up on some technical details that I think he may use to improve (if that's even possible) on his for future service. I needed to copy a key fob over the weekend, as I was staying with a friend who didn't have a set of spare keys. It was a pleasant surprise to see that FobToronto's Saturday afternoon were wide open. I made an appointment online and received confirmation by email and text almost immediately. I met Paul at Aroma on Bremner Blvd and he copied the fob within a few short minutes using a few devices in his backpack. I had the choice of two fobs - one being a keychain, the other being a small white sticker that could be stuck anywhere (e.g., on the back of a keychain, on your phone, etc.). I was tempted to take the sticker, simply because the concept of using a sticker to get inside a building seems so cool and futuristic. However, I decided to go with the keychain because I had nowhere to stick the sticker at the time. Paul accepts payments by cash or credit card using his Square card reader. My fob cost $50. Paul told me to reach out if I had any issues with the fob, but it works perfectly! He also checked in by text a few days later, which was appreciated. read more

I found Paul's business on Google. As soon as I called, he was ready to help me duplicate my fob on the same day. Paul knows his keyfobs inside and out, as he knew exactly what model i was looking for and was able to confirm how the key looks by just me telling him the model number. The pricing is very reasonable especially since the keyfob works 100% flawlessly. Watching him copy the old fob to a new one was something new to me. It only takes a couple minutes. He is very professional, quick and honest. 10/10 I would recommend anyone else that needs a secondary keyfob to see Paul. read more

Super great service and quality! A hardware store had been recommended by a coworker, but when they weren't able to copy the fob I needed, I found FobToronto through a Google search. Paul was able to meet me very last minute and all of the copies worked perfectly! PLUS, the price was fantastic and he was nice to chat with. Very professional and fast. Took my call when I called to inquire and was available to copy immediately. I came by Paul's house just east Davisville station. I waited outside and he took literally 2 minutes to make my copy for $50 and the fob works great at my apartment! I had a card fob to copy and he gave me a keychain fob copy which is much more convenient and handy for me than the card fob. The reason I needed a fob copy was because I am not currently on my boyfriend's lease and my building will not give out a fob unless I was added as a occupant. They did not approve the occupant application as we just moved in, they said to try back in a few months after we have proved ourselves as trustworthy tenants - but in the meantime I don't have a fob to enter the lobby!
