Finding somewhere you can have simple, old-fashioned ink fingerprints becomes a hassle without any sympathy. If you look up fingerprinting on the Chicago Police Department's website, it only offers one solution: 4770 S. Kedzie Avenue between 8:30 am - noon Monday thru Friday. Well that's nice if you live on the southwest side of Chicago, but what about the rest of us?! After much searching, loopholes, and misguidance, the Lincoln Square Police Department pointed me to the Northeastern Illinois University Police Department at 3701 W. Bryn Mawr. Follow the signs to "Campus Police." They perform ink fingerprinting for $10 a card, without a wait. Requirements for fingerprinting: -Completed fingerprint cards (if provided by requesting agency) -Government issued photo identification (i.e. driver's license, passport) -$10 cash or check for each completed fingerprint card -Signature on each card must be done at time of fingerprinting I recommend you call ahead to make sure there is an officer available before coming in. They are very friendly and will advise you to park in lot F for free parking without a required permit in any spot with a sign "Security Visitors".
