During this entire process Chris (and his workers) were exemplary. He knows Davis regulations and building codes like the back of his hand, clearly presents his prices, and helped us navigate many tricky issues. For example, upon doing our electrical work it was discovered that almost none of our outlets were grounded, presenting a major fire-hazard. Chris worked with us to replace these at a minimal charge. He also took our many questions in stride and was on-site himself almost every day. We are so happy we went with Chris. I would strongly recommend him whether you are planning a large job like ours or a simple remodel (i.e. only a kitchen or only a bathroom, etc.).

Just completed a large scale kitchen remodel with Tim at the helm. The house is old, windows were…read morerelocated, walls were moved, the ceiling was raised 8 inches, relocated a bathroom, added a laundry room, changed the entry to the basement, took out an interior chimney that went through both stories and the attic to open up the floor plan. We were very nervous about keeping the integrity of the old throughout the remodel. Tim and his team did a great job, and the finished project is nothing less than astounding. Most notably, old original beams were matched, his drywall sub did an amazing job at replicating the old stucco finish, Tim designed a custom hood which incorporated the beam finish, the kitchen island looks just how we imagined. His cabinet sub replicated the look of the original doors in our house in the cabinetry. All in all, it went just about as smoothly as it could have. There were challenges of course along the way, but they were met with solutions and we felt very informed the whole time. I can't write a review for Tim without giving recognition to his foreman, Michael, who did such an amazing job at lining everything up and helping us navigate through. He made the process seamless, and kept everything moving along as close to schedule as possible, and managed to make us laugh along the way. Great guy. All in all, great experience, great outcome, and the wife and I are still happily married after final inspection....to each other, I guess I should add that.

We do not live in the area and are in Sac only every 10 to 15 days and had been warned about being an "absentee" owner during such a major construction project. Not to worry. We receive clear information, alternatives are suggested when necessary, and change orders are handled efficiently. Only one item on his bid (total project cost is close to $400,000) came in significantly over expected cost. His accounting person has even taken on the responsibility of handling the construction loan paperwork for us. The work of Tim and his subs is of very high quality; he has worked with many of them for years and there is clearly rapport and trust between Tim and them. Quite honestly, I cannot provide any complaints about Tim Leake Builder.
