Stephen and Sandra are a husband and wife team, each with different strengths, that literally walk you through each step of the remodeling process. They went with my parents to the granite yard (I didn't know that was a thing) to pick out the perfect granite for the kitchen, talked endlessly about functionality, and offered solutions to best meet my parents needs. Plus Stephen got his hands dirty completing a majority of the construction by himself. Unfortunately I don't have a before picture but the space is truly transformed. Beverage fridge? Check. Pull out drawer for pots? Check. Kitchen worthy of the most ardent chef? Check! And the bonus of enjoying time with people you love in a comfortable space. I know my parents are happier seeing me more often as I'm over all the time to bake and cook up huge meals. If you're looking for great quality construction, people who are a dream to work with, and reasonably priced services, I highly recommend FM Design + Build.

We have been…read moreworking with Rebecca and Leah for the past two years (we took a break in between phases) and we finally completed our entire remodel. During our first phase we did both bathrooms and our kitchen. You can see the professional photos of the first phase of our remodel here: https://rwarddesign.com/portfolio/light-filled-luxury/ It was really great to work with Rebecca. My wife and I were impressed with how quickly Rebecca learned our tastes and when we decided to do the second phase, which included all new furniture, everything that Rebecca picked out was perfect-the first time. We really appreciated that Rebecca worked hard to make sure that our home looked awesome but reflected our style, not what she thought our style should be. We had a couple of furniture pieces that were passed down from my mother and grandmother that we wanted to keep. The style did not fit with our new space but Rebecca had them refinished with a more modern look that worked perfectly with our new furniture. We have been continually amazed at the Rebecca Ward Design team's ability to design spaces that we absolutely love. We bought our home in 1998 and raised both of our boys in this home and our original design was definitely utilitarian. We told Rebecca that we were ready for a "grownups" home and what she designed is both beautiful and super cozy. There isn't anything we would change-from the flooring, to the furniture, to the fixtures, to the paint colors, to the accessories. We love it all. Thanks Rebecca and Leah!

They listened to my needs and were amazing at giving me different choices and at times making changes to the plan to suit my taste. I was astonished at how Rebecca was able to integrate my great Grandmother's Asian table into the scheme as it has tremendous sentimental value to me. They asked what my budget was and they stayed within that budget. Everyone who walks into my home now are truly amazed and shocked at the transformation. Both of these designers are professional but personable too. I truly miss seeing their smiling faces once the process was finished. I would say that staging day was my favorite as they come in with all kinds of accessories that bring each room to life. I would not hesitate to hire them for another project. You won't be disappointed and you'll be as pleased as I was when it's all complete. Please realize these photos were taken with my phone camera, so definitely not professional photos. We decided to work with Casa Verde designs because she was local and because she showed us pictures…read moreof some very nice rooms she had worked on. We selected some tile and counter tops that fit nicely with a remodel project. The counter top contractor she recommended did such a sloppy job on the installation of the under-counter support that they drove nails out through the face of our new cabinets in the process. Then the contractor showed up with a counter top that had been cut to the wrong dimensions and with the incorrect edge. We dealt with that directly with the counter contractor. When they eventually returned with a new counter top (which still was not the style we ordered) they installed one of the counter tops so far out of level that things would roll off of it. Casa Verde didn't help. Instead Casa Verde insisted that the counter was properly installed. We weren't imagining the issue -- we put a level on the counter top and the bubble was well off center. But Casa Verde then insisted that "we didn't know how to properly use a level." Another area that concerned me was when we were at Casa Verde's store selecting materials. We brought a brand new cabinet door from the project with us to help us find colors which were complementary. She was very helpful finding some nice tile and a great color for the counter tops, but her handling of the brand new cabinet door during that process actually scratched and marred the door. Overall it just seemed like a very amateur operation and when the time came to stand behind her customer in order to get a contractor to do the right thing, Casa Verde sided with the contractor.

That said, while a big space upgrade is always welcome, it meant that our house felt very... empty, something that wasn't helped with the smattering of mismatched furniture we'd acquired over the years from Ikea or relatives. Enter Leah. We chose her on recommendation from a friend whose house she curated with a look we loved, so we wanted to see how she could help us establish a design vision and a cohesive aesthetic for our home. She was super professional and prompt in all of her communication, was never late to a meeting, and proactively checked in with us the whole way through to make sure we were getting what we needed. I…read morelooked at many different wallpapers and even considered stenciling it myself (very dangerous). Then I went online and found Sheryl's murals at Working Artist Decorating. By that time, I knew I wanted something to match the blue and white chinoiserie vases used for decorating the living room, and figured Sheryl would paint a few vines and flowers inside the frame. Sheryl prepped the frame, looked at my vases and other photos online for inspiration, and drew up some options using chalk in the framed area. From her first chalk drawing, it was clear that Sheryl was going to paint a mural way beyond my original expectations. The mural design was a very collaborative process. Since I didn't really know what I wanted, Sheryl was great at translating my vague input into amazing ideas that were spot on.
