Far exceeded my expectations! Our new house came with ugly framed wallpaper in the entrance way. I looked at many different wallpapers and even considered stenciling it myself (very dangerous). Then I went online and found Sheryl's murals at Working Artist Decorating. By that time, I knew I wanted something to match the blue and white chinoiserie vases used for decorating the living room, and figured Sheryl would paint a few vines and flowers inside the frame. Sheryl prepped the frame, looked at my vases and other photos online for inspiration, and drew up some options using chalk in the framed area. From her first chalk drawing, it was clear that Sheryl was going to paint a mural way beyond my original expectations. The mural design was a very collaborative process. Since I didn't really know what I wanted, Sheryl was great at translating my vague input into amazing ideas that were spot on. Even when I was satisfied, Sheryl could see areas for enhancement and kept going until she (and I) agreed it was finally perfect. Not only is Sheryl very talented, she's a pleasure to have around. Hideous eyesore, to a wonderful addition! I have a large yard and one of my neighbors has a cinderblock wall for a back fence. My first thought was mural but I was worried I wouldn't be able to afford it. Sheryl blew me and my husband away. She took the thoughts I had in my head and made them a reality. Well, my husband and I wanted to paint our playroom before kid #2 but I just...couldn't. We didn't have the time or energy to do so. So, my husband looked up local muralists to work in the room and he found Sheryl. BEST decision! We had a request for a Totoro mural (Miyazaki Film). She was able to transform our purple room to a wonderland in rural Japan. LOVED the touches she made. My husband has had these beautiful W. African cloths since he lived in Ghana more than 40 years ago as a Peace Corps volunteer. He VERY occasionally wears them "native-style" to lead African sing-a-longs but we have both long-wanted a way to display these gorgeous things in our home. She designed beautiful wood "hangers" that look African and alone would make our walls beautiful but then she figured out a way to drape the cloths through them so that they are safely hung but also available to my husband for wearing. So now you know the her design and her creativity are wonderful but how Sheryl worked with us is even more signficant. We had no idea what to do! Sheryl came in, sized-up the situation and then came up with ideas. We all worked collaboratively to figure out how to achieve our goal. She completed the project and then hung it all for us and "stayed on it" until we were all perfectly satisfied. Sheryl is the best! We were looking for someone to do a full room mural for our 3 year old in a Super Mario theme. It will hopefully carry him through middle school. I had been meaning to post about Sheryl for a few months and have finally gotten around to it. I called Sheryl back in July of 2012 and i had a project I was hoping she could help me with. My wife was out of town and I had an idea of painting a mural on our wall of a beach scene, viewed through a window or door. I called her on a Tues, we met that evening. She spent the next 3 days working toward my deadline of Sat morning early as my wife was to be home. She kept me informed of progress via email, and was at my house on Sat at 7am to finish.
