Jerrad recently completed an interior paint job for my home which entailed cleaning up some mistakes from a previous painting crew. He far exceeded my expectations. The walls look much better than prior, and he even cleaned up things that I didn't realize were done improperly until he made it look 10x better. I can be very picky and nitpick at small imperfections but Jerrad fixed it all. I am so happy with how the paint job turned out, and am happy that I found such a talented and dependable painter to rely on in the future. read more

Exceptional painting job on the exterior of our 2-story house! Thrilled beyond our expectations. Jarred is timely, meticulous, professional and exceptional as a painter. His lines are razor sharp, and he does what he says he will do - spray and back roll. He did our job in the timeframe he committed to (stayed on our job until finished) and his pricing was the best (we got 4 bids). He's the best painter there is and we will hire him for every painting need we have. Thank you so much, Jarred! read more

I can't say enough great things about Jerrad at Mechals Painting. First he gave me great pricing, and he fit me in. Jerrad caulked my whole house, used top of the line paint, not from a box store, gave attention to every detail, sanded parts that needed to be sanded so the paint came out smooth and came up with the color I was lookingfor when I couldn't find it. My house is absolutely beautiful. He also did my porches and stained them 2 shades darker to give the wow factor. You will not go wrong with Mechals Painting. I recommend him to everyone I can. Thank you Jerrad for all your hard work and taking care of my home. Thank you, Dawn. For some reason Yelp is not loading my pics so frustrating because it looks amazing read more

Jared does phenomenal work to say the least. The exterior of my house was in pretty bad shape (built in the 40's). There where a ton of cracks and wood rot throughout. Jared single handedly fied all that (in 103 degree heat) and painted the house to make it look brand new. He maintained great communication throughout the entire project and kept me updated on things as they progressed. His attention to detail is incredible. He is a friendly guy and is great to work with. On top of that, his price is pretty good. I had quotes from 3 different paint companies and his price came out in the middle. If you're looking for a painter and/or someone to fix the major or minor imperfections on the exterior of your house, look no further. I HIGHLY recommend Jared! read more

So I'm writing yet another review for Mechels painting after another great experience. Jared has painted the full interior of two of our houses and has now painted the exterior of our new home. What sets Jared apart from other paint companies is the significant attention to detail that is placed on every job he does. My neighbor and I both had our houses painted within weeks of each other. They had their house done first and commented on the amount of time Jared spent caulking and prepping the exterior. It took Jared longer to prep than it took the crew who did the neighbors house to complete the job. The results speak for themselves. Our house looks incredible and the neighbors have come over on several occasions to tell me how much they wish their painter had done a comparable job given the fact we paid about the same amount. read more

Jared did a wonderful job and helped us out when we were really in a bind! Super thorough and pays a lot of attention to detail! He sanded our ceiling and painted it! He even worked on the weekend and is super reasonably priced! We would definitely hire him again and recommend him! read more

We had recently replaced our stairwell and needed the trim and baseboards painted and knew it would be a tricky DIY. They turned out so good and make the rest of our baseboards in our house look like they could use a touch up. He also painted our daughters room and when we wanted to modify the look after he was finished with the job, he came back right away to get it just right and we very much appreciated that he stood behind his good work. Very kind and hard working individual and look forward to using him for future paint jobs around our home. read more

Updated 12/20/22 - I'm disappointed I have to post a one star update for Mechals Painting. Not because of poor quality workmanship but poor follow through. I contacted Jarrad about four months ago to request a quote for painting because I was so impressed with his workmanship on a previous paint project he did for me. It took awhile and several attempts before he responded indicating he'd call to discuss the need. Never did. Then some weeks later he texted apologizing he was on a job in an area with poor reception. I can understand that. Again, he promised he'd call at a certain time. Never did nor did I ever get a call at some point. Very disappointing because he did such a great job and follow through before. read more

We are SO happy with Mechals Painting!!! We are DIY'ers who had nearly finished a large remodel project and needed a little help wrapping up the painting due to work demands. He started a couple days later than originally planned, but that is to be expected when quality is held at a high value. We came upon Mechals Painting in Yelp and had them paint some cabinets, walls, ceilings, doors and trim. Jarred's work was meticulous and of high quality. There were times when things looked fine to us, but Jarred was not pleased. He corrected this work and the result is that our home looks absolutely fantastic! Price was more than fair too and he takes great pride in his work. read more

Jarred is amazing at his craft. He painted all the baseboards in the downstairs of our house and several rooms. His attention to detail is second to none including caulking. He is hard working and easy to get along with. Jarrod is clear about his pricing so you understand exactly how much everything costs. I've had several different painters over the years and I would definitely recommend Jarred above all of them. read more

On July 26, 2021 I contacted Mechals for getting an estimate on a painting project for my home. I was never able to get them on their phone. Their website lists two numbers. The first one has a repeated message saying that the voicemail box is full. The second one is not in service. I sent in two requests - one via Yelp and one via their website. I received no response to either request. As a last attempt, on July 28, 2021 I sent a text to their first number (which kept saying that the voicemail box is full). I didn't even know if this was a mobile number but wanted to see if I could reach them, as I was interested in talking to them based on their reviews in Yelp. In my text message I introduced myself, specifically asked them to call me back and gave them my phone number. I received a text back from someone saying that the voicemail box is full due to spam calls. The person never told me who he / she is. The person asked what kind of painting project I was looking to get them to work on. This, after me telling them in my earlier text message that it was a residential project - internal and external painting. Nevertheless I restated that it was a residential project - interior and exterior . Dead silence after that for a day. A day later I received another text message saying that they had not forgotten about me and would touch base with me in a day. The person asked for my home address and I texted it back. Then the person asked if I wanted exterior work done first. I told them that I am open to options and am looking for the estimates to determine next steps. The person said they got it and would be in touch with me. I texted back giving a thumbs up. That was the last I heard from them. Today is August 3, 2021 as I write this review. Since then nobody has bothered to call me back or contact me about my project at home. A business that treats potential customers shabbily, a business in this day and age that can't keep its website updated with correct contact numbers, a business that is so unprofessional in its approach and a business that does not bother to follow up on commitments is not a business that I am interested in dealing with. I would give them zero stars if I could. Overall experience: Very poor. Will not work with them as they don't seem to care to provide good customer service and experience. read more

Jerrad Mechal just spent the day painting some rooms in our house as we get ready to sell. The guy was super professional, friendly with my family, easy going, made good conversation and I have nothing but positive things to say. When he got here we asked him to add in another room to paint, a high ceiling-ed big bathroom with lots of crap to paint around. He gave me a great price to add on another room which was very fair. He stayed here all day, put on lots of paint, and it looks better than I expected. I'd highly recommend Jerrad, he'd be the first person I'd call if I needed more paint done, and I was very impressed. The detail around things like baseboards, ceilings, and edges was perfect. He will show you that his business is well deserved. Extremely happy customer. read more

Jerrad just spent November painting our remodel, baseboard, window trip, touch up paint and our new doors. The quality and attention to detail was phenomenal. Everything looks amazing. I am so glad we hired a professional, and that it was Mechals. I would not use a different painter besides for any of our future needs. Jarrad takes his time to make sure lines are perfect, surfaces are prepped, adds many layers of paint to ensure a smooth professional look and knows his products. It has been over a month now and I am still very impressed and grateful. read more

Our house was so sad looking and hadn't had a paint job inside or out in years. We heard through friends about Jerrad Mechals with Mechals Painting that he was the best. Skeptics that we are we invited him over to give us a bid. His bid wasn't too far off from our other bids. What helped us decide was him. He was so knowledgeable, great customer service and didn't try to sell us what we didn't need. From day one to the end he was a Pro Master at his craft. I can not rave enough about this company. If I could award him 20 stars I would because he went above and beyond and a kind soul to boot.if anyone needs a painter you would be a fool not to use this company. Thank you Mechals Painting, it feel like I just moved into a new house. Amazing!!! read more

Jared was awesome! Takes pride in his work and got the job done for the exterior and interior of our home!

I had a painting project that needed to be done before our window treatments were installed. Jerrad kept in touch with me each day to let me know the status of his availability even though he was very busy and in the middle of a big job. He ended up sending one of his painters (Raul) out to take care of it. Both Jerrad and Raul were VERY helpful and a pleasure to work with. The job came out great. I will definitely use Mechals Painting again. read more

Jarred is just amazing his attention to details the cut lines and so much more. Just so respectful of our home, worked with us to move some stuff and worked around our larger furniture items. This allowed us not to rush and move everything at once for a huge paint crew to do a quick job. In the end he even helped us to choose the last painted color we needed in our newly remodeled home. Lastly and most importantly he left our home clean. Couldn't recommend this smaller company more!!!!!! read more

Jarrad did a great job painting the exterior of our house. I was relieved that he had a way to figure out selecting the paint color we wanted. The main way to describe his workmanship is THOROUGH. As a huge bonus he was very easy to communicate with and always responded immediately via phone or text. He works with his Father as well if he needs another hand. We felt confident with his experienced knowledge with how to paint and what type of paint is best. He has a relaxed yet focused demeanor which makes for easy, seamless and flexible interactions while he is working on your house. read more

Jerrad recently painted the exterior of our home and our front stairwell. He did a great job and worked in extreme conditions due to summer heat and smoke from nearby fires. Jerrad painted the entire exterior of our two story home (2700 sq ft) this past August (2018). He did a very good job painting it, as if it were his own home. Jerrad Mechals is an exceptional painter. When I was looking for painters to tackle our very large job, I read his reviews and the word "perfectionist" kept being used to describe him. They were spot on! We had some tricky color transitions on bull-nosed corners and wavy ceilings and he painted a perfect edge, giving the illusion of them being straight even though the plaster is not. He used very high quality paint and did as many coats as it took to get full coverage. He was also very accommodating with bringing us test paint samples to check colors and did a very good job cleaning up. When he was all done, he made sure to leave us a sample of each color used, all carefully labeled so we'd know which was used for each room. It took him awhile to complete our 2 houses (2 interiors and 1 2-story exterior) but he did virtually all the work solo because others just wouldn't have done the job up to his exacting standards. Since we weren't in a rush to move in, it wasn't an issue for us. And last, but not least, his price was very fair for such a big job. We will definitely call on him again for any future painting needs! read more

Jerrad is extremely hard working and conscientious. Many times working till dark to stay on schedule. He was the only painter who could work within my deadline for a thousand less. I've been stung with contractors who don't communicate or finish within a timely manner. Jerrad was accommodating and was true to his contract. I'd rather not share him, but he deserves to thrive and excel. read more

Jerad was one of the most pleasant contractors we have dealt with. We recently had him repaint our entire interior and we very impressed with his attention to detail. He was meticulous, overspray or spilled paint was not an issue and he left our house cleaner than he found it. He made several suggestions as he was going along as to additional areas to paint and even gave us a few extras "on the house" such as fixing some baseboard damage and rebuilding a box in a closet around some duct work. He was very flexible and worked around our schedule and we hardly noticed him when he was there. His pricing was reasonable and we felt we got the best value with Jerad Mechals painting with all the extras and add ons that we threw at him. He handled these changes graciously and fairly without huge upcharges. Most importantly we trusted him in our home and were happy to have him work alongside our family. read more

Well, I guess I have to be the 'one star" guy on this company's review page. I want to first say that Jerrad was very nice, fast to respond to the estimate, and gave a fair quote for the repaint of my house. The job painting the exterior of my home was going to be tough, and ugly. We both knew it. But Jerrad's attention to detail and his comfort in speaking with me about the job assured me he was capable, and when the time came, he agreed to it. To better explain my rating, I need to use a time stamp format: Friday April 22nd - We gave the green light. Jerrad agreed to the job. Monday May 2nd - We were told the contract would be dropped off at the house. Thursday May 5th- We still hadn't received the contract. Reminded Jerrad. Friday May 6th- Jerrad stopped by and handed us the contract. We signed it a bit later that afternoon and left it on our doorstep for him to pick up. We asked when a start date would be, roughly. We knew it was the busy season. We were told it would get done soon. Saturday May 14th- Contract still under our doormat. We reminded Jerrad and he asked us to just bring it inside. He let us know he was working hard to get to our job. Tuesday May 31st - Checked in with Jerrad. I just needed to know a rough start date so we could plan our summer vacations and have a reasonable expectation about this big job we were so excited to get done and had been waiting a month to start. Jerrad said he had a couple more jobs, then would get to us. He expected mid June, possibly June 18/19th. Tuesday June 14th - I checked in yet again. Wanted to see if this job could get done at the time he stated. Jerrad said he'd get back to us within a day or two. Saturday June 18th - Hearing nothing, I texted a concerned letter to him stating we were worried he was putting us off or didn't want to do the job. There's even a Yelp review where it clearly appears he took a job and completed it well after we had hired him for our job, meaning we were being put on the back burner. Sunday June 19th - A response is received, stating he promised to give me a start date the following day. Monday June 27th - No response. No start date. Once again I reach out to see about a start date. He responds that he's been working hard. He has one more job, then a small one, then ours. Sunday July 10th - We are told the job would start that week, he'd let us know what day he would power wash the house. Thursday July 14th - Having yet again heard nothing, we checked in. He says he will text us with a power washing date. And asks us if we've picked out colors yet... it's been nearly three months... Yes, we've picked colors. Finally, Friday July 15th, after my wife, me and the rest of the neighborhood had enough staring at our hideous house desperately in need of a repaint, we decide to let Mechals Painting go and we went with another company. I truly wish we could have seen this 5/5 star quality everyone seems to have gotten from Mechals. But we were put aside and forgotten about. I really like the guy, he's super polite. But I think a bit more honesty about our job could have been better. I'm not sure what we even did wrong. We were paying cash and never once rudely got on his case about anything, we just wanted to know when the job would start. I don't expect this to influence your decision. I don't doubt he does great work. But this had to be said. The one star is fair and was earned in this case. read more

We selected Mechals Painting after having received a letter from our HOA in The Parkway in Folsom telling us it was time to repaint the entire exterior of our home. Of the four companies we called which were endorsed by The Parkway, Jerrad was the only painter who took the time to come to our house, walk the property with us, and tell us how he would complete the job before giving us a quote. The other companies we contacted communicated only by email or with a written estimate left under the door. Jerrad impressed us with his intimate knowledge of our HOA and how their rules worked, as well as his willingness to do all of the required communication with them prior to beginning our project. We appreciated having that experience on our side. While Jerrad worked on our house, he always kept us informed with how he was progressing, and texted us to ask us questions or to let us know his schedule. We could tell his work would be impeccable given how much time he took to clean, caulk, and prep the house prior to painting. Jerrad is a perfectionist and re-visits any area of the job that doesn't meet his standards. He even cleaned a rust stain on one of our second-story windows we couldn't reach! We now have a fresh-looking home which I'm sure will be beautiful for years to come. We highly recommend Jerrad for any painting services you may have. read more

Seriously one of the best businesses in Folsom! Super responsive, reasonably priced, family owned, and excellent work! Jared quoted us super quickly when we sent photos and was able to squeeze us in 1 week later. Other places we called said they would take 3 months! He was able to move around some other jobs or get them done quickly - whatever his magic was - so that we didn't have to have half our trim painted and the other not! We tried painting it ourselves but it got a tad too dangerous and we didn't have the right ladders so we called Jared and he saved the day! Highly recommend. read more
