Amazing attention to detail in painting a tricky room with skylight. I would definitely use him again!

Jeff was amazing to work with to complete an exterior paint job of my garage doors. He so easy to work with and supplied estimates so I could deal with an insurance company. The paint job looks great, was done on schedule and I'm very happy. read more

if i could give Jeff double the amount of stars it would not be enough. he worked so diligently to make perfect the paint job on our hone...he spent day after day prepping and sanding and correcting issues before he actually started painting...we could not be happier with the results! read more

Baldwin Custom Painting - Painters Near Me

Jeff painted our kitchen remodel on one occasion. Because we were so pleased with his work, we utilized his painting skills for a bathroom remodel. Both jobs included painting walls, cabinets, and trims. The third time we asked Jeff to do exterior painting. Needless to say, we would not use anyone else except Jeff Baldwin. read more

Jeff is a remarkable craftsman, professional, and individual. In addition to outstanding work performed with care for my home, he was patient with my worries and many questions. Jeff provided thoughtful and helpful responses and guidance throughout the project. Seven years ago he painted my kitchen including the cabinets. This year, he 'fixed' my sloppy paint work in a great room, hallway and entrance. His work on the window and door trim is perfect! read more

Disclaimer: He's my sister's boyfriend. Dis-disclaimer: If his work sucked, he'd get far more than a bad review. So, I had dry rot infect my money pit of a house, and after pilfering a friend's angieslist account, I got a builder willing to take it on. Dry rot is apparently holy water to contractor vampires. Once completed and I wrote out the check for what equated to a near new corolla, so I was looking for paint work to complete it on a budget. He had decided to strike out on his own, so I figured, what the heck. If he screws it up, he'll never hear the end of it. We timed it out to coincide with our own vacation so we weren't tracking in paint the whole time, and while the weather didn't exactly cooperate with him, he made time by paining long hours on the days he could. Additionally, he kept a clean workspace, and did a thorough job of cleanup at the end. The job was a little more than half what the next bid came in at, and was done ahead of schedule. Good enough for five stars from me. read more

He did a great job on our house! Easily the worlds greatest painter, if he was missing an ear I would have swore he was van-go. Very professional. Highly recommend. read more

We had a fireplace that was original brick, & wanted to get it painted white. They did a great job, in a timely manner with very high quality work. I love the new look of our fireplace so much! I highly recommend this company, & plan to have our future painting jobs done by them too! read more

Needed to get our closets patched and painted prior to installing new custom closet organizers. Called a few painters and decided to go with Jeff because he had great reviews, was responsive, and he happened to be available on the specific day we were looking for - a huge bonus. Jeff did a great job. Price was reasonable, the work looks great, and he was super easy to work with. We'll definitely use him again when we're ready to paint the rest of our interior. read more

Jeff and his crew did an amazing job in our house! They were personable, professional, and considerate. They were very efficient in their work, left house at end of day, clean. That was a big plus. The job was beautiful. I would recommend them anytime!!!! read more

Jeff is the absolute best. It's why he has solid 5-star reviews - he deserves them. Not only is he an expert painter (meticulous prep, fine freehand trim work, detail, detail!) he's a great communicator and patient guide. He squeezed my project into his busy schedule, was gracious when I changed my mind on color, patched all kinds of holes in the plaster, kept the work area tidy, and fixed my own painting mishap. He and his team made my home so much more beautiful. We are lucky to have such a pro in Sacramento. read more

Great attention to detail. Very thoughtful workers and considerate of our family. Love our new cabinets and repainted house!

I expected a great exterior paint job from Jeff and his team based on his reviews and they still managed to exceed my high expectations. They were meticulous in prepping the job, he caulked gaps and holes that were ignored by prior painters and even repaired a small piece of siding that had been damaged by dry rot. They ensured non-painted surfaces were protected, left the surrounding patio and walkways pristine upon completion and washed the windows. Even though it wasn't part of the original scope we discussed, Jeff also went on roof and painted some vents that were peeling. The house looks fantastic and I highly recommend using Baldwin Custom Painting if you want a quality job. read more

Wanted most of the interior of my house painted. I didn't want to do it. I spoke with a few painters. The only one to show up on time and get me a prompt estimate was Jeff. Not only was the estimate prompt it was VERY reasonable. Jeff was patient with my wife and I as we went back and forth on colors and scheduling the work. Jeff was flexible and very helpful in advising color schemes. The big thing and most important thing is I trust him. If you are going to have someone in your home, you have to trust them because you will not be standing over them the entire time. I trusted Jeff fully. That trust paid off because the rooms came out really good and he even came back to do some touch ups that needed to get done. I will continue to use Jeff and recommend him to people looking for a painter. Thanks again. read more

I give Jeff 5 stars for customer service. I wished I was able to hire his services but he is completely booked. Despite not utilizing his painting services, his responses to inquiries are really quick and did not hesitate to provide his professional opinion for a consult. Being new to the Sacramento area, I have made several calls to various professionals and my experiences have been that most are hard to get a hold of and do not reply or call back. Jeff has been the absolute opposite. I wished I could have hired him as his value for his business is very important to me when picking someone to do the job. Thanks again Jeff! read more

This review is long overdue. Jeff painted the exterior of our home over the summer and did an outstanding job. It was not an easy task - the home is 80 years old and had not been taken care of over the years. There was major paint failure, dry-rot, stucco and trim issues and 100 degree temperatures. Jeff worked through all the obstacles and it now looks like the nicest house on the block. The job turned out to be much more work than either of us anticipated but Jeff never deviated from his quote and exceeded our expectations. We miss having him around the house and look forward to having him back to do some interior painting soon! Thanks, Jeff! We really appreciate the great job you did :) read more

I called 4 painters. 1 didn't bother calling back. Another out of the Stockton area gave me a bootsy high ball estimate more for a much larger 2 story house sight unseen; and of the other 2 , one of which included Jeff, Baldwin Custom Painting. I met with both and after speaking with Jeff, my family and I decided that we would go with him. We felt he was honest (and that is WAY important to me), professional, and would do the best job of anyone. Jeff did all the work himself (and it was a LOT..I really think the paint on the house was the original and time of build..20 years..). The house was EXTREMELY dry and just plain BEAT UP by the sun. He prepped it painstakingly. Explained the steps to prep it to me as he was going along, explained his vision for the outcome (which was more than I could hope for), and gave me exactly what I wanted and needed. Prior to deciding on the paint color, he gently helped me by placing various selections of large patches side by side so that I could assess the curb appeal. The paint job done, when I came home the house just POPPED! It is so beautiful. The paint color is outstanding. The house looks fresh and loved. My excitement hasn't worn off yet... I'm so thrilled. I cannot WAIT to call Jeff after taxes so that he can take care of the inside of the house. I will refer Jeff over and over. GIVE HIM A CALL. Fair prices, Strong work ethics, Personable, and 100% capable of turning your home into a GEM like mine :-) Lastly, I must add...the importance of finding the right painter... you know the one that gave me the bootsy high ball estimate... well business must be slowing down for him because he called me back and gave me some tragedy low estimate which I'm confident meant that he had some extra paint somewhere enough to slap on my house and call it a bad day for me. I trust Jeff and won't be using anyone else for any of my future paint needs. read more

Baldwin Custom Painting - Painters Near Me

If I could give him six or seven stars, I would. I contacted Jeff Baldwin or Baldwin Custom Painting based on the reviews on Yelp! He has been painting the interior of our home. He not only has been painting the ceilings and walls we had him repaint our kitchen cabinets. They were dirty and greasy, as the previous occupants of the home had not understood the concept of cleaning and had decided it would be okay to "touch up" the cabinets with the wrong color, over the grease. Jeff came in and listened to all of the things that I wanted, including repainting these disastrous cabinets. He did not visibly blink - though anyone with an IQ of 3 above plant life would have groaned on the inside :). After getting an idea of what I wanted, Jeff explained it would be better for us if we agreed to time and materials. I used to have my own paint and wallpapering business, so I knew what to expect. He did a great job. He spent hours sanding down the cabinet faces and doors to get off the greasy paint until he had a solid surface to paint. He carefully massed off the kitchen so he could spray the cabinet faces. Jeff was very patient as I figured out what colors I wanted to use in my home. It is a Spanish style home with saltillo tile and we creatively came up with a way to help the guys at the paint store capture the colors I wanted to us. He has always on time and consistently communicated when he would be at our home and when he would need to go by the paint store to pick up more paint and would be arriving later. I highly recommend him. Robin R. read more

My wife and I are both extremely detail-oriented individuals so when it came to finding a professional, custom painter for our home, it was an anxious undertaking. Fortunately, from the day we first spoke to Jeff and discovered his friendly/cordial personality, to looking at some of his work at one of his client's homes, to seeing his attention to detail with masking everything off/sanding/spraying multiple layers of paint, to seeing the phenomenal finished product, only then did we understand why Jeff and his team have earned 5 stars on Yelp and the slew of great reviews!! Our cabinets now look brand new as if they were just purchased from a cabinet manufacturer! Thank you Jeff and team! P.S. Lastly, if you have any special requests like everyone must wear shoe covers, Jeff and his team wore them religiously to keep our new carpets new...it's difficult to find people you can trust nowadays but we found a wonderful person/team/phenomenal painter. read more

I've had Jeff do multiple projects for me. The first job was removing the wallpaper from my entry way and priming and painting the walls. Once he was done, No one would have ever known it was ever there. He painted my kitchen which was no easy task. I have many, many decorations and he took them all down and put them all back exactly where they were. He painted my living room walls and ceiling and it looks perfect now, it was dingy and dirty and he really brightened up the space. Finally he painted my family/dining room and helped me pick out a blue that I absolutely love. My walls had always been white, and it made it feel so much more updated with a new color. I can't recommend Jeff enough, he was so personable and made the whole experience feel so comfortable. I'm generally watching people like a hawk when they come to my house to do work, I never once felt like I had to do that with him. I'm a single woman and to have strangers coming in my home can make me feel a little uneasy, I would trust Jeff to house sit, maybe he'll add that to his services? JK of course. Thanks again Jeff! read more

I highly recommend Baldwin Custom Painting for any painting needs you may have. I contacted Jeff via email several months ago and requested an estimate, he was prompt in responding. He advised me he would be happy to accommodate me and give an estimate but that he was booked up and I may have to wait a few months for him to get to my project. I was more then willing to wait as I had seen so many good reviews on his work. My project was 1) painting the exterior of my house including painting my security windows and doors and window awnings 2) removing wall paper from a bedroom wall -texturing it and priming ( 3 old hideous layers). I also had a handicap ramp on my porch/driveway I needed removed and was at a loss who to have do that. Jeff said he could do it, which helped me tremendously. He and his assistant Gerry were prompt showing up each morning, they were polite, friendly,,neat and helpful . I wanted the paint on my house the same color as was painted prior and they obtained a wonderful paint match. Their work is superior in every way. I can hardly believe the miracle work they did on my ugly wallpapered bedroom wall, I had been wanting to have that removed for sometime and was worried I would have to have the wall re- dry walled. Jeff saved me that headache. Baldwin Painting definitely earned a 5 star rating, do not hesitate in choosing Jeff to do your job ! read more

First of all, I have never hired anyone to paint and have been painting rentals and my own houses interiors practically my whole life, so needless to say I am very picky. Jeff and his crew painted the exterior of our house, and they did it extremely well. Jeff helped me out with the color choice, as I was having difficulties, and I couldn't be happier with the color as well as the workmanship. From prep to clean up, I was very impressed. Even as I kept adding on more and more things for them to do, they still worked efficiently and completed on time. I am so excited every time I pull up to my "new house." I seriously can't recommend them enough. read more

I got a recommendation for Jeff for painting my kitchen, laundry room, and hallway cabinets from another contractor but couldn't get him for several months because he was so booked. I am so glad I waited. Jeff and his helper Gerry did an outstanding job!!! The cabinets look beautiful, and with the multiple step prepping process they will stay that way for a long time. Jeff is a perfectionist and takes pride in his job every day until completion. Jeff is always on time, neat, friendly, polite, and most important I was comfortable with him in my home. I would definately have Jeff back to do any painting job that I need in the future. If you want a great painting job call Baldwin Custom Painting!!! read more

Thanks to Yelp I found Baldwin Custom Painting. Jeff was professional and personable-great energy! I received a fantastic bid for my kitchen. He was efficient and his work is very detailed. The room looks wonderful! I was having lighting installed as well and although I didn't think he should paint the ceiling until the lights were in place --he offered to paint it anyways. He said he didn't want the room to look so unfinished. My children really appreciated that and so did I. Especially, since it took a couple weeks between the two jobs. He will return when the Electrician is finished to paint the ceiling(again) without extra charge. I definitely recommend his services and I look forward to calling on him again for all my painting projects. read more

I first learned about Baldwin Custom Painting from this Yelp page when I was searching for a reliable contractor to remove bathroom wallpaper, texture the walls, then paint them. Jeff contacted me the next day, responding immediately to the message I had sent him. Jeff made an appointment to come to my home a few days later, and we discussed the job I needed done. During our conversation I told Jeff about my ongoing search for a contractor to refinish just the worn sections of my wood stained kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers. After inspecting the worn areas in the walnut finished cabinetry, Jeff told me that he could also take care of that work as well. Jeff told me that he was about to leave on vacation and had several jobs when he returned; I assured Jeff that I would wait patiently until he had time to schedule my work after all I had waited more than 5 years to find a contractor who could complete both jobs. Jeff contacted via email in early December, telling me that he now had time to complete my work before my holiday guests arrived. Jeff's coworker showed up to remove the wallpaper and prepare the walls. Jeff came on the following day to texture the walls and begin the work on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers. I was amazed when I arrived home on Friday night to discover that both jobs were nearly completed. Jeff returned on Monday to put another coat of paint on the bathroom walls and to add another coat of shellac to the refinished parts of the cabinets and drawers. Jeff recently returned to my home to refinish my wood stained doorjambs and window sills and they look like new (just like my kitchen and bathroom cabinets)! I have now scheduled Jeff to repaint the main rooms of my home after I replace my dining room carpet with hardwood flooring. Jeff is a detail oriented craftsman and I am extremely satisfied with all of the work he has completed for me. Like the other reviewers on Yelp, I encourage you to contact Jeff if you have painting work. read more

I emailed Baldwin Custom Painting about having some exterior painting done and was impressed that Jeff responded back within an hour!! It was unfortunate that he was booked but gladly recommended me to another company. I gave this company 5 stars even though work was not done because 1. Its a Saturday night - nobody responds to "work related things" on a Sat night 2. Most contractors if they're busy won't respond to you because they are so booked 3. Because I'm impressed and they MUST be good. Plus I wanted to !!!!! read more

I cannot recommend Jeff highly enough. We had a few weeks between closing on a new house and the end of our lease, and I think we got incredibly lucky that Jeff had availability in that window. If he's open when you need him, I would recommend you hire him without delay. From our initial meeting I knew that he was a thoughtful, careful craftsman. He discussed how he'd approach various problem areas, and made a number of aesthetic recommendations without ever calling our own into question. He was patient as our own ideas evolved at the start of the job, and seemed to have anticipated some of our indecision. When problem areas revealed themselves and made the job harder (a ceiling that neither he nor we knew lay under a small roof leek; rot in some window frames; etc.) he didn't change his original estimate, and also gave good advice on how to address the issues in greater depth later. He was extremely conscientious about dust and debris (potentially containing lead from old paint), and gave us clear warnings about when it would or wouldn't be safe for us to enter the house with our kids to inspect or answer questions. He was friendly and approachable throughout the week-long project. Lastly, and most importantly, he did an AMAZING job. I've never been in a house with a nicer paint job. It was literally transformative. read more

EXCELLENT--We were very pleased with Baldwin Custom Painting. We researched, then interviewed several painting contractors before deciding on Baldwin Custom Painting. Jeff and team have done 3 projects for me and counting. Kitchen cabinets twice and complete interior of the house. Jeff's attention to detail and meticulousness is second to none. Great work. Highly worth the wait. I don't mean he is slow, he is just in high demand and busy.

Quick, professional, and besides that, a high-quality job! I never want to paint anything myself again.

Jeff began the journey of owning his own business a couple years ago and his indisputable success since then is a true testament to his work ethic, honesty and friendly demeanor. We asked him to paint the exterior of our first home, a small stucco in East Sacramento. From start to finish he was professional, courteous and kind. He takes pride in his work and he really wants his clients to be happy. The job he did is nothing short of professional and top rate. Called January 20. Message says booked until SUMMER 2015. There's the magic in great Yelp reviews. Good for them!

Joe was amazing. First off, his communication was excellent. He was honest about everything and told us exactly what needed to be done on our house. He painted the outside of our house and made it look spectacular! He was very professional and was always kind, never complaining about how hot it was outside. Overall, I would definitely go to Baldwin Custom Painting again if I ever needed another paint job! read more

Continuing a streak of 5-star reviews I am here to tell you how great Jeff is. He is very professional and takes real ownership of his jobs. If there is a question he returns until it is right, checking it in different lighting conditions. We had some ceiling areas painted after a remodel and he felt they were not quite right. When I tried to tell him to not worry about one small spot on a ceiling he tried to convince me to let him repaint it. It was bad drywall mud I said so don't waste your time but I think it frustrated him a bit because he wanted it perfect which I respect, but I did not want him to waste his time fixing the mudder's problems. From sanding, priming, painting and cleanup everything is done as discussed for a fair price and with excellent results. Highly recommend him for any paint job, inside or outside. Book ahead though, he is busy! read more

Very pleased with the service at Baldwin Custom Painting. I needed my master bathroom to be painted, and Jeff did an excellent job. I am always paranoid about the trim not being "just perfect" but he was extra careful. I was happy to hear that the prices at BCP are very competitive; I wasn't charged an arm and a leg. When i go to re-paint the whole house I will definitely call Jeff again. read more

As most have mentioned, Jeff's schedule is packed but his work is worth the wait. I got an estimate last October knowing Jeff would not be able to get to the job until February. I'll probably be getting back in line to have my exterior done. read more
